Hilary (our user) walks into a bookstore, she is looking for a specific book (website). She gives her description of the book (url) to a salesperson (browser), and from that description the salesperson determines the title of the book (domain). The salesperson then passes the book title to their boss (ISP). The boss looks up the book title in the company catalog (DNS) and writes down a phone number (IP address).  The boss gives the phone number back to the salesperson and the salesperson calls the phone number to reach the warehouse (server). The sales person then request the book be sent to the bookstore, and the warehouse sends the book over.
Before giving the book over to Hilary, the salesperson reads it very quickly and sees that this book requires two more books that it will be referencing a lot. The salesperson calls the warehouse again and asks for the second book to be sent, and the warehouse sends that book over.  The salesperson calls one more time and asks for the third book to be sent, and the warehouse sends that as well. Now the salesperson has all the books, and they give them all to Hilary so she can read them.
