This is what they are trying to do.

Russian Roskomnadzor, who had since recently assumed they have power to block
whatever thing they wanted - it looked like they accidentally banned whatever
some poor mobile phone was communicating with over a large timeframe.

Today, at approximately 0:00 27 April 2018, they accidentally blocked such
services as:

  * Yandex
  * VK
  * Twitter
  * Parts of Vkontakte

and more. This is in addition to blocking insanely enormous swaths of IP space
belonging to Google, Amazon, Hetzner, Digital Ocean and others in a vain
attempt to block Telegram, which took place since April 16.

Lots of businesses sufferred downtime as they banned Amazon, Google, and
others.

Our ISPs are now mandated by a barbaric, anti-constitutional law to comply.
The law itself is against Art. 23, 24 of Russian constitution, and against
the UN declaration of Human Rights, I think.

I repeat. RECORD. ALL. TRAFFIC. Voice traffic, data traffic. SMS traffic. Postal,
even.

GOOGLE THAT. IT's INSANE. They wanted to record ALL TRAFFIC that's passed
through (major) ISPs for 30 days, increasing the space requirements by 15% every
year. This is just technologically infeasible, but they already started construc-
ting large data centers for the task. The law is expected to go into effect
as of October 2018, with the part regulating how much is to be stored going into
effect as of July 1st.

We already have cameras covering most of Moscow, face recognition in Moscow
subway. They're on their way to allow voice recog data to be handed over to
the authorities. And voice recognition is near 100% accurate. And easily accessible.

Please, people. Repost this and share this as much as you'd like.
What I personally, ideally, wanted you to do is to go to your nearest Russian embassy
and execute your right to peacefully protest there. Just go there, holding a sign, or
whatever, as long as it's not against your local laws.
