  1. [02:14] The white-feathered Artificer stands stalwart before her brother as he speaks those words. She grits her teeth at his claim of watching over, balling her hands into fists and leaning in;
  2.
  3. "You've done a great job, then, brother. Hoo-ray. Feel proud.
  4.
  5. You died early and I mourned you. You left me alone, before all of the others did. You died without leaving any legacy, or anything tangible for yourself, constantly chasing that vanity-stroking dream of 'justice'."
  6.
  7. Those gold-tainted eyes flare with righteous hatred, gilded flames pouring from them as she glares at him.
  8.
  9. "Did you ever care about me at all, brother? Do you still care about me?
  10.
  11. You want to take away the prisoner entrusted to me by Noel and Calael? You want to take away the only chance I have at getting my daughter back, because my research and my methods make you uncomfortable?
  12.
  13. How dare you."
  14.
  15. The soft-voiced thing is now outraged as she glares at the wind-wreathed other.
  16.
  17. "Do not try to manipulate my runes. I have multiple redundant fail-safes, and you will trigger them if you attempt to undo them without my knowledge, brother."
  18. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  19. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  20.
  21. [02:23] Calm as one could be her words forced that same kind and gentle smiles to spread beneath his mask. Head shaking from side to side as the pain within continued to stem outwards with every word. This woman which now stood before him, one such mother that had lost her child only seeking revenge rather than absolution.
  22.
  23. "I care for every man and woman which walk this planet. Though, I know above all else I should treat neither you nor even the woman that revived me different. Ithaca entrusted that role upon him, to walk a path against Injustice." Those words followed only by a pause, his hands raised to press upon this woman's shoulder.
  24.
  25. "This is not the path you were meant to walk. Your child, she will not be saved by inflicting pain unto others. By traumatizing even necromancers, as lowly and despicable they may be. In time they will face punishment, though not by torture and endless pain which haunt their mind."
  26.
  27. A shake of his head.
  28.
  29. "You may release her now and leave. Thera, Calael, Noel and I will find a more appropriate way to handle and hold this prisoner. Until your daughter is returned, so that another child may return into the embrace of a wounded mother."
  30.
  31. Those would be his final words, hands returning to his side as he almost expected the woman to follow. To end those screams which had rung from the depths of these cruel dungeons.
  32. (Seraph)
  33. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  34.
  35. [02:28] She shook her head,
  36.
  37. "I just want to go home!" She shouted. With the stranger telling Magdalen to let her go, she squirmed against her restraints once more, staring at Ethan.
  38.
  39. "Just let me go. That person said so!"
  40. (Clara Ultovex)
  41. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. [02:28] The white-feathered glares at her brother with those burning, anger-filled eyes of tainted gold.
  44.
  45. "No."
  46.
  47. She begins softly, looking him dead in the eyes and refusing.
  48.
  49. "You will not take her from me, or I will abandon every single project that I am working on for the betterment of all of the people with us, and leave to somewhere else.
  50.
  51. Because surely you don't need non-lethal ways to prevent prisoners from hurting one another, nor do you need simple runes I can make to prevent one from being raised as an undead. Or perhaps the structure Ohtli's working on to the north, that I'm building, that will allow Thera to conjure spirits freely into this world?
  52.
  53. I cannot subsist off of empty promises that you'll save my daughter at a later date. I have been living off of them for a year now."
  54.
  55. The white-feathered's eyes narrow.
  56.
  57. "You would not betray me like that, brother, and take away one of the few things I have left, would you?"
  58. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  59. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  60.
  61. [02:35] Her mind was a battlefield which clung to a single prisoner that promised a salvation which would never come. His head shook from side to side as those words came to flood his mind, even now one such man could not turn a blind eye to all he had witnessed.
  62.
  63. "I can not allow a prisoner to be kept in your care. You are a grieving mother, I suggest you spend your time in the embrace of your husband and those who wish not to see you fall." There had been a pause to his words, eyes coming to a close from behind the mask.
  64.
  65. "I would hope you not halt your efforts to bring about positive change unto this world. I would hope you not turn a blind eye to those in need, because I will not allow harm to befall even the most corrupt."
  66.
  67. Those eyes opened once more, the winds swelling within these dungeons growing calm.
  68.
  69. "I won't be threatened so that my resolve may waver. She will face proper judgement for her crimes in a manner more conductive than this. Be it giving back to this community or helping those in need, though my decision remains the same."
  70.
  71. One long, slow breath drawn inwards.
  72.
  73. "Her Judgement will not be passed by you."
  74.
  75. Those words rung clear.
  76. (Seraph)
  77. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  78.
  79. [02:35] Clara Ultovex whispers something.
  80. [02:35] Clara Ultovex whispers something.
  81. [02:39] A nod was offered to Clara as he made an attempt to mediate what was happening with nothing more than wit and words. Emerald eyes shifted to the siblings bickering, fighting and threatening one another before low whispers were uttered.
  82. (Ethan Hawke)
  83. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  84.
  85. [02:40] Ethan Hawke whispers something.
  86. [02:40] Clara Ultovex says, "...."
  87. [02:40] Ethan Hawke whispers something.
  88. [02:41] Ethan Hawke whispers something.
  89. [02:42] The girl was quiet for some time, before she whimpered speaking up suddenly - mainly directed at the man that was speaking to Magdalen. She didn't know who it was, and she had never met him, but she spoke with a wild shake of her head,
  90.
  91. "NO!" She shouted, "S-Stop.... I'm okay. I'm okay with... With Magdalen taking care of me," She said finally. It was hard to actually say, and she blinked back a few tears. "So please just stop."
  92. (Clara Ultovex)
  93. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  94.
  95. [02:46] Gilded flames burning from eyes, the white-feathered tenses up as a result to the other's words. She's doing this all for the sake of someone she loves. An easy thought that has the runes of her cloak glitter, subtle mana-active threads glistering as mana begins to suffuse her body and equipment.
  96.
  97. Likely to do something rash, no doubt.
  98.
  99. Then, as those words are spoken from behind her, blinks dispel that auric pyre, allowing just golden embers to drift from her eyes as she glances back at the restrained young woman. Then back to the brother...
  100. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [02:47] Seraph raises a brow, glancing towards Clara.
  104. (Seraph)
  105. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  106.
  107. [02:47] Seraph asks, "... And why would that be?"
  108. [02:47] Clara Ultovex says, "Because - .... "
  109. [02:47] Seraph says, "Answer honestly, please."
  110. [02:48] Mist sinks from the ceiling, in an anti-climatic fashion, her head twists a full 180 degrees before she darts close towards Clara, whispers something, and vanishes! Ghosts.
  111. (Mist)
  112. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  113.
  114. [02:48] Mist whispers something.
  115. [02:53] She knitted her eyebrows together, deep in thought. She's quiet, as she struggles to form a coherent train of thought before she spoke up again. The tears had subsided for the most part, again; but there was still a deep sadness blooming within her. Maybe it was the empathy that Magdalen tried to fix within the Dawnite, maybe it was Ethan's whispered suggestion, maybe it was a bit of both.
  116.
  117. "Because she hasn't actually hurt me," She said softly. In everything, it was true. The most Magdalen had done was put rubes on her back; none of the runes hurt her, except for the second and that was just an emotional pain that came with the sadness of losing a daughter.
  118.
  119. "The other one, the man... He hurt me. He did something on me, and took my magic away. She hasn't injured me... In fact, I had an injury from the person who brought me here, and she fixed it for me." Now, she squeezed her eyes shut, fighting against the tears again as she inhaled with a quivering voice,
  120.
  121. "So please just -stop-."
  122. (Clara Ultovex)
  123. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  124.
  125. [03:02] Pause.
  126.
  127. Those eyes filled with thought and doubts all clashing against one another would make this decision. Even her words had spoken a hint of truth from within, attention gradually being focused back upon Magdalen.
  128.
  129. "Then she will remain in your care for the time being. Thera and I will discuss what happens next with her." His words followed by a nod, one final glance towards Clara with doubt littering his gaze.
  130.
  131. "... And this goes without saying. Don't forcibly dye prisoners hair as they scream and kick against it. However, she may remain with you for the time being, Magdalen."
  132.
  133. With that, the spirit of Justice would gradually begin to move from this room.
  134.
  135. "I hope you will not allow your future judgements to be clouded by emotion. Let's not make a repeat of what has happened upon this night."
  136.
  137. How difficult a situation.
  138. (Seraph)
  139. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  140.
  141. [03:05] Thankfully enough this wasn't a living, youthful, and emotional Sera. All he could think of is that if he was really himself the angel-blooded spirit likely would've not accepted Clara's demands - or at least doubted them more. It was good he didn't pry too much.
  142.
  143. With such a conclusion being reached the Wayfinder only felt like the weight on his shoulders had grown tenfold. Not only did he have a large amount of projects to take care of, but he also had to ensure Clara would be happy and that Magdalen would... well, calm down. A lot.
  144.
  145. A nod is all that is offered to the spirit before his gaze returns upon Clara, quiet, waiting for her to break the silence.
  146. (Ethan Hawke)
  147.
  148. (Some time passes. Siegfried helps fight the fallen angel. No big deal. No, seriously, laggy world event was laggy. Fun though.)
  149.
  150. Magdalen Elisheva says, "Hey, Marceline. Sorry for treating you badly..."
  151. [01:48] The Elisheva begins, shaking her head softly.
  152.
  153. "I've been... Going through some stuff. I felt like there was no one on my side, and that I had to fight alone for anything I wanted...
  154.
  155. You were really brave today. Thank you."
  156.
  157. And with that, the white-feathered finishes all six. Netherworld. Territory. Travel. Interpolation. Conversion...
  158.
  159. And, with the last, the other fix form together into that viridian-rune framed portal of azure and white. Ready for Magdalen to step through and be somewhere else.
  160. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  161. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  162.
  163. [01:52] Siegfried calls out to Magdalen, trying to stop her from proceeding. He could potentially fail with this, if she's just that tired, and he wouldn't blame her in the least, frankly - he doesn't like he's in all that big of a rush.
  164.
  165. "Hello, Ms. Magdalen?"
  166. (Siegfried)
  167. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  168.
  169. [01:55] Marceline watched as Magdalen meticulously drew runes in the air, raising an eyebrow. This must have been the trick behind spatial magic. While the corrupt fae's rifts were forcibly tearing through reality in one fell swoop, this was a lot more complicated.
  170.
  171. The runes drew her attention for a while, before she realized that she was actually being talked to. The fatigued and beaten fairy looked up, squinting towards the Elisheva. "Huh? What the heck are you talking about?" she asked rudely, in typical Marceline fashion.
  172.
  173. "Whatever, lady. I really don't need your gratitude. Everything I do is for myself."
  174. (Marceline)
  175. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. [01:59] The weary Magdalen glances back at the Fae, opening her mouth to speak some sort of response the way of the Fae. But then, she just closes her mouth and gives the smallest smile.
  178.
  179. Yeah, she totally doesn't believe the Fae.
  180.
  181. She's grateful, silently, before glancing over her shoulder at the young boy. She'll place a hand on his shoulder, her other hand touching the runic constrict bordering the glimmering window - adjusting the complex calculation of mass, unbeknownst to any but a Wayfinder…
  182.
  183. Before touching the surface of the portal, pulling both Siegfried and herself somewhere else as they disappear in a shower of cerulean and white-gold motes that funnel into the portal, which closes in moments.
  184. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  185. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  186.
  187. [02:03] Blinking, he just kind of follows behind her, going through and to wherever it is that the woman has decided to emerge. He had a question for her, regardless, and this seemed like the best way to get answers!
  188.
  189. "Bye Marceline!"
  190.
  191. His voice echoes as he wanders off into Kraus knows where.
  192. (Siegfried)
  193. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  194.
  195. [02:04] Glittering motes coalesce into the shapes of the pair, the young boy and tall, white-winged woman. She easily reforms, striding casually ahead!
  196.
  197. "Mm, you wanted to speak to me, dear?"
  198. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  199. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  200.
  201. [02:06] The ease with which Magdalen kind of just...seems to glide through the lifestream is kind of offputting, even though he's used to Taiga and Ethan both doing it as well. There's a rapid series of blinks, and then he rubs his eyes, to make sure he's not hallucinating...
  202.
  203. "You too?"
  204.
  205. Kraus damn it. Everyone but him. Anyway.
  206.
  207. "I was just wondering...is Clara okay? I haven't seen her in a while. I just wanted to talk to her for abit, if that's okay."
  208. (Siegfried)
  209. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  210.
  211. [02:09] The white-feathered pauses at his request. A soft, thoughtful note given. With a sigh, she speaks;
  212.
  213. "Yeah... No point in keeping her cooped up away...
  214.
  215. You're a good friend to her. I... Was pretty awful to her, because I wanted to get the father who took my daughter away."
  216.
  217. Her shoulders roll a little, her voice softened and a little drained;
  218.
  219. "Then, I realized that her father wouldn't care. He hasn't even tried to get her back, despite my provocation.
  220.
  221. It might be better if you and the other dears just treat her sweetly, and help her work through her problems."
  222.
  223. And with that, she walks to the east!
  224. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  225. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  226.
  227. [02:11] Clara Ultovex says, "...."
  228. [02:11] Siegfried says, "Oh..."
  229. [02:13] The surely ominous Magdalen strides into the house, pausing, and gazing down at Clara. Oncemore, instead of what the other think will happen - she's brought someone else with her.
  230.
  231. That boy, Clara no doubt knows! She motions for him to sit next to her, and the white-feathered warden comes to sit in a silk chair, off to the side. No words spoken, simply removing her notebook from cloak and running her eyes across its words...
  232. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  233. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  234.
  235. [02:14] She hadn't expected another visitor, after Yawen, beyond Magdalen. To see Siegfried caused her face to contort into anger briefly; before it melted away, either by her own choice or the curse inflicted on her was unknown.
  236.
  237. She's quiet, before she manages out,
  238.
  239. "... Hi," She said softly. Tears stained her cheeks, and it was clear that the Necromancer had been crying for possibly hours while she had been alone. She was tired.
  240. (Clara Ultovex)
  241. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  242.
  243. [02:20] Siegfried, confused, just kind of waltzes around the town behind Magdalen, following the older woman without qualm. Despite how she pitches herself, Siegfried had occasionally gotten some odd vibes. But when she explains the lingering resentment over the way Sors had kidnapped her own daughter, and twice now at that, he kind of got it.
  244.
  245. The issue with all of this, though, and what he does not get as his head slowly but surely cranes to the older woman, is...
  246.
  247. "...I don't want to be a dick, ma'am, but why did you bring her here?"
  248.
  249. There actually sounds like a hint of...protectiveness in his voice. His fists are clenched, and his gaze is kind of harsh.
  250. (Siegfried)
  251. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  252.
  253. [02:25] The white-feathered, put on the spot, glances from between the two of them. A breath is taken as she stands up, walks over to Clara... And opts to gently, softly stroke her hair.
  254.
  255. Her gaze is on Siegfried.
  256.
  257. "My brother wanted to take her from me. I-I couldn't take that. She was the only thing I had that I could use to try to get my daughter back.
  258.
  259. He understands little aside from killing and fighting. He wouldn't be able to help her."
  260.
  261. A soft admission, but, as usual, she's honest. Her words have grains of truth to them, as always. Clara would notice that her demeanor - for right now, seems to be of the softer variety. Odd.
  262. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  263. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  264.
  265. [02:29] The Ultovex didn't know what to say. She didn't know why Magdalen had taken her all the way here, in all honesty. As Siegfried asked that she opened her mouth briefly before shutting her mouth. The hand that stroked her hand caused Clara to flinch - almost involuntarily - and she pulled away from the hand.
  266.
  267. "I want to go home," She reiterated, once more. "I want to stop feeling.... Like this..." She added. She wiped at her face, gritting her teeth.
  268. (Clara Ultovex)
  269. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  270.
  271. [02:38] The floor underneath his feet cracks.
  272.
  273. "...You..."
  274.
  275. Seeing Clara in a state of crying, broken down, genuinely looking like a disheveled mess triggers something in him. Something usually repressed - the very same thing that'd caused him to hurtle himself at Zeno Morvan to defend Illona, the same thing that he'd ranted in a fury about to Taiga.
  276.
  277. Siegfried's strength is miniscule by comparison to almost all of those who bore the name Elisheva. He is aware of that - he knows that what he is about to do is foolish. But...
  278.
  279. The pressure from the expulsion of his magic is nothing that would give pause to an above-average mage, but it is still enough that a dome of energy coalesces around him in shimmering azure motes that condense into a raging aura. And then, within a second, he kicks off from the ground, aiming to strike Magdalen dead in the face.
  280.
  281. "I don't care what Sors did to you, this was wrong..."
  282.
  283. He could never actually harm a woman, much less a woman that he actually respected and liked, such as Magdalen - but he knew she was a mage, and a powerful one at that. This blow would not rattle her body, coming from the meager magi. At best, it would turn her head.
  284.
  285. "You're not like this. I...I don't know you, but you wouldn't do something like this. How are you any better than him..?"
  286.
  287. His body just moves. She has to fight him.
  288.
  289. "And I won't let you get away with it!!"
  290. (Siegfried)
  291. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  292.
  293. [02:48] The white-feathered can't help but frown - not so much at the floor cracking, but rather, because of Clara's shying away. It's expected. Magdalen truly treated her horribly.
  294.
  295. The Angel-blooded feels different. Part of her wants to punish Clara further, to continue to attack her father through her, in some little way...
  296.
  297. And it kind of disgusts her, now. Even as Siegfried readies himself, as she can say is a saddened.
  298.
  299. "I... I can't believe myself."
  300.
  301. In an instant, a torrent of feathers sprouts from her back, interposing itself between his punch and her face. It's as if he's struck a solid wall. His plan might be really ill-advised.
  302.
  303. She warns him softly;
  304.
  305. "I'm taking Clara back to Levengard now. That's why I came here. She can't go home, but she can be with the other children.
  306.
  307. Please, don't fight me. My emotions will get lose and... I'll do something I'll regret to you."
  308.
  309. She hasn't even drawn her gunblade from her back, but the mana that flows through her does swell instinctively as that protective urge within her aims to defend herself from what she views, distantly, as a threat.
  310.
  311. The subtle runes of gold inlayed into her clothing illuminate softly.
  312. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  313. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  314.
  315. [02:51] Oh.
  316.
  317. This was an entire thing, now, wasn't it? As Siegfried moved to attack Magdalen, Clara bolted to the other side of the table. She couldn't conjured magic to protect herself... And even if she did? That rune on her back may just go off. She's silent, watching with wide eyes. Why would he actually attack her? Was it because of her?
  318. (Clara Ultovex)
  319. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  320.
  321. [02:56] He seems...undeterred, from this path. Regardless of the words she speaks, how she warns him that if he is to fight her, something regretful may indeed happen, he does not relent in that assault. Even if he is hopefully outmatched, what burns inside of him is not the need to win.
  322.
  323. It is the need to set balance to what he believes is a wrong. To show Clara that he was sorry, for keeping her in Levengard and leading to this...this mess. Broken and sobbing in the locked house of what may very well be a madwoman.
  324.
  325. "It's too late," he says quietly, drawing himself back up as his meager aura attempts to shield him best as it can from her on titanic one. "You hurt my friend, Magdalen. And you can't make that right just by doing now what you shoulda' did before."
  326.
  327. There's a flourish of his blade as he edges that slightest bit closer. The boy has no possible way to comprehend that which he was about to combat - he has no thought in his mind except to claw his own stake in a world that was unfair.
  328.
  329. Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
  330. Nothing is going to get better, it's not.
  331.
  332. "Maybe no one would ever know I kept Clara in Levengard and you did this to her...but I would. And I can't just do nothing about it."
  333.
  334. Their eyes would meet, unless Magdalen cannot bare to look at him. What she would see in their eyes is burning resolve that shined without regret.
  335.
  336. "...'cause that'd make me just as guilty as you are."
  337.
  338. Without another thought, he surges forth, like the wind, ready to roll with the consequences of his actions, whatever they may be.
  339. (Siegfried)
  340. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  341.
  342. [03:04] Weapon drawn, her own body responds automatically. What was once one wing, grown to a size that's larger and wider then she is, interposed between the two, is now two, balefully sitting to her sides. She looks actually saddened by this whole situation, looking over at Clara for a moment, her gaze softened.
  343.
  344. For once, Clara seems something other then just pain in her eyes when she looks deep enough - now there's regret and guilt, too.
  345.
  346. Regardless, Magdalen's eyes close for a moment as the other speaks, holy mana - curative, numbing, gentle flowing from her form, her gunblade in her hand in an instant. A satisfying clink deploying it, its chamber glowing.
  347.
  348. But as her eyes reopen, flicking, consumptive flames of righteous hatred and zealous condemnation pour from then, golden hues that lick at her face. White-light becomes gold-tinged, catastrophic and dire. Now, it bleaches and crumbles, instead of heals.
  349.
  350. "I need her. I can't do anything to get my Lailah back myself if I don't have her."
  351.
  352. Those burning eyes are able to meet his own, burning with conviction and determination. She can justify any evil to herself in this state, this burning desire to protect her family sharpened and weaponized.
  353.
  354. She'll strike to defend herself from his blade - at first.
  355. (Magdalen Elisheva)

  361. [03:08]
  362. {LOAD GAME}
  363.
  364. [03:27] The song of singing steel is heard as blade meets blade. The Gilded Artificer's own blade is traced with beautifully, immaculately inlayed runes of orichalcum, traced over ever detail of her gunblade. They glow and pulse with that catastrophic light of hers.
  365.
  366. That rage and hatred burning in her eyes. That utter refusal to give up Clara to anyone. She nearly attacked her own brother a few months ago -
  367.
  368. This boy won't be able to quell that protective, overzealous hatred as her body moves automatically.
  369.
  370. Quickly, the white-feathered artificer would put the child on the defensive, forcing him back with rapid strikes - enhanced as the High Artificer pulls the trigger of her custom-built design, a detonation of a mana-cartridge inside having a flare about the exhaust ports that double as a barrel in the other mode! This causes her swings to move at a blistering speed, leaving trails of runes in the wake of every arc!
  371.
  372. And still, her free hand paints runesthat come to her quickly - those six familiar viridian runes, connected to a larger white-gold rune by virtue of runic commands.
  373.
  374. For some reason, she's maintaining her distance, the immaculately perfect, beautiful figure flitting her gunblade to the second mode with a cli-clink, pointing the barrel at him and firing gold-tainted light motes at him repeatedly. Forcing him to stay in place, and stay on the defensive.
  375.
  376. Neither would likely recognize this spell she's setting up with that runic construct.
  377.
  378. And neither would anticipate the marble blade that plunges through the ceiling behind him as he's pinned down, shattering it into fragments as the edge of a sword a story and a half tall and a magi wide comes to draw across his side. Her Heaven Divider, conjured above her.
  379.
  380. In the wake of the angled cut that draws a - thankfully shallow line across his side - as it, for whatever reason, was not a direct hit - the laceration does not close. Instead, the skin near the wound dissolves into white dust, cursed.
  381.
  382. The fight's over after that. It feels numb, but immediately, the golden fire has left her eyes, and a bandage is pressed to the now-bleeding wound on the other. Her teeth are grit and her eyes are watered.
  383.
  384. "I'm sorry... I didn't want to do this to you."
  385. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  386. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  387.
  388. [03:30] ** Magdalen Elisheva has inflicted an injury upon Siegfried. ("Alabaster Sunder", "The High Artificer's conjured Heaven Divider sliced a shallow cut below the ribs of the swordsman. The wound isn't deep - as, for whatever reason, it wasn't a direct hit, but it still is difficult to deal with. The edges of the wound can't be sutured easily, as it flakes off, turning to white dust. And, it still bleeds openly.", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
  389. [03:30] Clara watched the fight rage on, with widened gray eyes and a muted expression on her face. Why did it seem that Siegfried was protecting her? Why did it seem like he felt... Guilty?
  390.
  391. Perhaps he did; she had no way of telling that.
  392.
  393. But now, as it was clear that Magdalen was the winner, she spoke up perhaps in a way to stop Magdalen from actually harming the boy, but perhaps she was too late.
  394.
  395. "WAIT! Don't hurt him!" She practically shouted at this point.
  396. (Clara Ultovex)
  397. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  398.
  399. [03:49] Her blade is lacquered in gold, her body adorned with the blessings of the heavens, and runes stretch across her garments that she has woven. Her sword is abnormal, nothing like anything he's ever seen before, and...
  400.
  401. Siegfried hopes to match her with the untried body of a novice magi, entirely self-taught, already wounded by his battle with Zeno, wearing rags and common wear, with an unremarkable blade. Within the close quarters they battle, he is able to press his speed advantage, and yet even still, her onslaught of ethereal blades leaves him with little to no breathing room.
  402.
  403. You're wise enough to win the world, but fool enough to lose it.
  404.
  405. He ducks and dives around furniture and pieces of terrain within the small house, but makes sure to never place Clara in the line of danger - he's sure Magdalen does the same. With as many things whirl through his mind in the heat of this battle, he never even had a chance at seeing hercoup de grace...
  406.
  407. White hot fuck scrapes into his side, dissolving flesh as if smited. His eyes widen a fraction, and then he screams, a blood-curdling thing that resonates throughout the house. He's already stopped screaming when Magdalen apologizes, a chaotic mess of flailing as he lies on the ground, unable to even stand by his own power, but still too stubborn to vocalize what he feels.
  408.
  409. They are beyond words, now. All that Magdalen would see when she looked into Siegfried's eyes is the indignance and self-righteousness that had driven him into a fight he knew that could not win, which had wound up with him on the ground, wracked with injury that would afflict him for months.
  410.
  411. "Just...leave Clara alone."
  412.
  413. Somehow, some way, he's able to coerce his body into a last, meager stand, rising up with knobbly knees and a hunched back. The defiance that is Siegfried, the rebellious soul that compels his every action, manifests the wind one last time, and his hand swings out at her. But so feeble is his lost control over his magic, all he accomplishes is a harmless pitter that succeeds in naught but smacking a nearby vase onto the ground, coming nowhere close to harming her.
  414.
  415. And then he falls forward, flat on his face, out like a light.
  416. (Siegfried)
  417. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  418.
  419. [03:56] It's too late. The damoclean attack was already falling when Magdalen so distantly heard Clara's scream to stop. There's nothing she can do now except hold that bandage to the bleeding wound - now forced to see the effect of her own zealous rage-filled curse first hand.
  420.
  421. The blonde woman, ethereally porcelain-skinned and beautiful, has tears running down her cheeks as the other's words are spoken. She can't even blame him, she's do the same if she was in his position, and that's part of why this hurts so much.
  422.
  423. During the fight, she made sure not to involve Clara - the one she was protecting - in a way, and Magdalen motions for her to come closer, her gunblade already stowed, and glyphs of viridian already painted in the air.
  424.
  425. "Come, Clara. We need to take him to a clinic. We're going back to Levengard..."
  426.
  427. She beckons the other closer, reaching out a hand for her.
  428. (Magdalen Elisheva)
  429. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  430.
  431. [03:59] Worried, the girl rises all too eager. He was hurt - just because of... Her?
  432.
  433. She hadn't had anyone do that for her. Ever.
  434.
  435. To his side she rushes, the curse that Magdalen had inflicted upon her causing her heart to almost break; not at the sight of the injured Siegfried, but because of the pain of losing someone so close. She takes an unsteady inhale, and nods, taking the Demiangel's hand now. She's silent, thinking. Debating.
  436. (Clara Ultovex)
  437. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  438.
  439. [04:00] A grasp on both child, the white-feathered creates her portal, stepping through and having the three of them dissolve into azure and white sparks, pulled into the portal, and then gone...
