Wonderland 4.3

[It’s the morning outside of the college, Vince making his way inside. As he reaches the door to the college, he finds a piece of paper stuck on the front with label stating “CLOSED” on the top. Vince grabs it and takes it off the door, knocking on it. There’s no activity inside and the automatic door stays shut. He knocks again.]

Eggy:		[confused] Can I help you?

		[Vince jumps, turning and seeing Eggy sat in her wheelchair. She’s wearing a brown poncho and red trousers. He collects himself, standing straight.]

Vince:		[surprised] Um… sorry, I came to see Trevor. He said something about a club.

Eggy:		Oh, we don’t do that here right now, buildings closed.

Vince:		[nervous] Yeah, I know, I come here.

Eggy:		Since last week we had that…

		[Eggy turns to look at the pool, seeing a large hole still in the side of the building.

Eggy:		[annoyed] Incident. I wonder who could have done that?

Vince:		[worried] Yeah… well, um, if you see him then can you tell him that I’d like to talk to him? I’m Vincent, by the way.

		[Eggy turns to Vince, giving a small smile.]

Eggy:		Sissel’s cousin, no?

Vince:		Yeah, you know him?

Eggy:		He comes to our group now. He says you have been bothering him.

Vince:		[worried] Yeah, not what I… want to talk about, just let Trevor know please?

Eggy:		Come here one moment.

		[Vince comes over to Eggy. She places her hand on his, then suddenly the poncho grows and spins around them. The poncho covers them and shrinks down, the two vanishing. They reform, along with the poncho, in a near empty bowling alley. The only people there are the members of the Spaghetti Club on the other side of the room, Bayard the dog currently attempting to bowl a dog. Vince quickly looks around, panicking.]

Vince:		[panicking] What the hell was that?

Eggy:		[calm] Just a magic trick. [loud] Trevor!

		[At the other side of the room, facing away from the newly arrived two, Trevor turns to see Eggy and Vince while he’s drinking some water. Vince waves to him awkwardly which leads him to spit take on Talia, sat next to him.]

Talia:		[surprised] Jesus, Trevor!

Trevor:		[embarrassed] Sorry. Um… sorry.

		[Trevor very quickly hops over the chairs, walking over to Eggy and Vince nervously.]

Trevor:		[nervous] Hey Eggy, hey Vincent.

		[Vincent gives a smile.]

Eggy:		He would like to see you.

Trevor:		[nervous] Yeah, he’s a friend, we, um… we talked last night. Can we have a moment?

		[Eggy nods, wheeling herself to the rest of the group. Trevor and Vince watch her start to leave, then Trevor quickly hops over to Vince.]

Trevor:		[quietly] What the hell are you doing here?

Vince:		[quickly] I wanted to talk. Considering last night, considering… the Storm, us, what we’re doing-

Trevor:		[quietly] Will you shut it? Eggy doesn’t know.

Vince:		What? Why?

Trevor:		[quietly] She’s not… she doesn’t like the idea. Look! I’d love to talk, really, it’s been… it’s felt like years and it is great to see you, but can we do this another time?

Vince:		[worried] I don’t know if there will be, honestly. It’s important to me that I talk to you, please.

		[Trevor stares down Vince, worried.]

Trevor:		[worried] What the hell is that supposed to mean?

		[Vince sighs, looking down.]

Vince:		It’s nothing, I just… Seriously, can we talk?

		[Trevor sighs, looking back at the group. He sees Bugsy in a green hoodie and shorts, hood down, throw a bowling ball into the air. George runs up, wearing a black shirt with cuts in the back and jeans, as the bowling ball barely misses the ceiling and manages to land at the pins, knocking them over. The group cheers, Bugsy raising his hands triumphantly.]

Trevor:		Alone?

Vince:		Preferably just you and me.

		[Trevor turns to him, chuckling.]

Trevor:		[chuckling] Not a date, right?

Vince:		[quickly] Oh no, um, no… not a date. Don’t worry.

		[Trevor looks back to the group, chuckling again.]

Trevor:		I’ll get my jacket, ten minutes. Not a date!

Vince:		[happy] I get it! I’ll just… um…

		[Trevor starts walking away, sighing before then turning back around.]

Trevor:		You wanna bowl while you wait?

		[Vince thinks for a moment, looking at the group. Bugsy has started staring at the two, but is slapped on the arm by Talia who then turns to look forward.]

Bugsy:		[distant] What, I’m curious!

Talia:		[distant, quiet] Stop it!

		[Vince chuckles.]

Vince:		I haven’t bowled in a while.

		[Vince walks over up to Trevor, the two then choosing to walk together over to the group. The club are staring at the two as they come over. They’re all sat down, comfortable, looking at him. Spike moves quickly over to them.]

Spike:		[confused] Who this?

Trevor:		This is Vincent. Be nice. All of you.

		[The two sit down next to Bugsy and Talia as Spike moves to get a bowling ball.]

Spike:		[quietly] Bossy.

Bayard:	[stern] Don’t be mean.

		[Talia leans over Bugsy and Trevor to get to Vincent, giving a hand outwards. Spike bowls the ball down the lane.]

Talia:		Nice to finally meet you, Trevor said some nice things.

Vince:		[happy] Oh! That’s nice to hear.

		[Vince sits back in his seat as Talia moves back. He glances over at Trevor quickly, then back forwards patiently.]
