Her parents met in college (Zhejiang University) where her mother was pursuing a degree in business and her father in engineering. Eventually her father went to America for his PhD, and her mother followed, and they got married. They moved down to Florida, where they had Wuying and her brother, and they lived there until Wuying’s father got a better teaching job in China and they moved. Wuying wasn’t too bothered by the change; she didn’t particularly like Miami because the kids she knew weren’t nearly as motivated as she was and a lot of the people were rude (not all, of course, but enough to annoy her). She had a few friends that she still keeps in touch with. She began learning piano and violin when she was six and though she’s by no means a virtuoso, she’s pretty good but doesn't focus on music much. Her real passion lies in science, and it’s thanks to her middle school teacher in China for helping her find that passion.

    → Wuying is pretty... interesting, for lack of better word. For one thing, she's a genius. She fiddles around with computers a lot and is great with technology, but she also maintains high grades in all subjects and is the top of her class. She’s academically very intelligent and is competitive, but around people, she appears pretty laid-back and cool- from a distance. Wuying’s very logical, hence her skill with computers. She likes to laugh, but knows when to be quiet and observe. She’s still a teen so she cringes a lot at stuff she deems sappy (such as the couples at school calling each other pet names… ugh), but she’s mostly in her own world, focused on computers and science and math. Thus she's rather awkward and geeky once you get to know her, rather than the cool girl you might expect, since she spends a lot of her time on the Internet searching up random stuff and coding. Wuying’s extremely loyal to those who earn her respect, such as her middle school science teacher who was the one that first introduced her to programming. She’s very trustworthy, though she herself doesn’t trust easily, which is a flaw. She also can be condescending due to her intelligence, so she doesn’t have a lot of patience for people who just don’t get things as easily as her. However, Wuying means well with what she does, even if it doesn’t always seem that way. She insults her friends jokingly a lot, and she’s extremely sarcastic and savage, but she also likes to cling to them and when they need her, she’s always there for them. She has a pretty motley friend group, since she herself is kind of all over the place, and she's never really caught up with the latest trends (except in memes) so she typically doesn't do what everyone else is doing and is her own person.
