What: Teachings in the ways of Bushido and the Samurai.

Where: Dojo Genmaru, Shirogane Ward 8, Plot 20

When: Wednesdays, beginning July xxth @6pm PST (Times subject to change, availability permitting)

Details:

In the coming days, Keiji Naru, Lord of Clan Genmaru, will be taking on pupils to whom he will be passing on his teachings of Bushido and the ways of the Samurai. Sessions will be held weekly in the Clan Dojo starting with discussions about the tennants of Bushido, including Honor, Benevolence, Righteousness, and many more. Sessions of discussion will be followed up with a series of fights held on a volunteer basis among the present students. This event is open to ALL who want to come watch and hang out, or cheer on the fighters. Participation in the specific event is limited to students only. When the session is over, the Dojo may continue to be used for unofficial fights (please observe the below rules). Downstairs level and courtyard is open to attendees during and after the event (students only after the session).

Rules:

1). - First and foremost, the First Dojo Master (henceforth mentioned as Sensei) deserves the utmost respect. Disrespect in the Sensei's Dojo shall not be tolerated, and will be answered in kind, with a possible expulsion if deemed necessary. Treat the masters, assistants, and other students with respect, and they will treat you in kind. ((Whether IC or OOC, just don't be a dirtbag. Especially if you're a student. Students are not chosen lightly. As such, the one's chosen are serious about learning, thus would respect their teacher. Disrupting my sessions whether ICly or OOCly will be handled on a case by case by myself. I reserve the right to ask any disruptive parties to leave, whether you started it or not. Any non-students participating, please refrain from stepping onto the Tatami mats in the Dojo level of the cottage.))

2). - Expulsion is permanent. If it's deemed by the Sensei that your expulsion is necessary, you will, under no circumstances return to the Dojo on pain of death. ((This one's pretty straightforward. If I say you're out, you're out. Period.))

3). - During discussions, students will remain seated, quiet, and respectful of others. If a student has a question, they need only stand and may speak when the Sensei calls upon them to do so. ((Discussion time is Sensei time. Please respect that. If you have a question OOCly, please send me a /tell. Furthermore, discussions are my interpretation of Bushido and do not necessarily accurately reflect the real teachings of Bushido. This is an event intended for fun, and/or also to ICly go through the motions of outsiders to Doma and Hingashi to ICly become Samurai. If you disagree with anything discussed, please withhold your criticisms until after the event.))

4). - Students recognize that the Sensei possesses superior knowledge and skill where it concerns the Way of the Samurai and Bushido. ((Bouts will follow discussions on a volunteer basis. Students may challenge the Sensei (Keiji) at their own risk, as doing so will grant students an initial -200 modifier to their rolls of attack and defense against the Sensei. Fights between students, however, will have no modifiers. Fights will have similar structure and rules in accordance with the Grindstone (no death, no magic, no animals, first to 3, etc.). Any wins will simply grant bragging rights of sorts, so long as you continue to adhere to Rule #1.))

5). - One must fight in order to learn. Learning requires a student's full participation. ((While I'm not going to force anyone to participate in the fights following each discussion, for each time a student participates in said fight, whether it's against the Sensei or another student, their negative modifier will be reduced by 10 (20 if they win against the Sensei). A single student may only challenge another once per session, but may be challenged as many times as the others would like. Only the challenger can reduce their negative modifier.))

6). - No student may attempt to seriously harm the Sensei, another master, assistant, or student. ((Fights following each discussion will be NON-LETHAL using wooden swords (Bokken; tachi and/or kodachi size). The only exception will be for those students who have earned the right to fight the Sensei with no negative modifier. They may only challenge the Sensei, or other students similarly qualified, and may only use a katana. They may still challenge other students with bokken.))

7). - The Sensei does not teach just anyone the ways of Bushido and the Samurai. ((Students are hand-picked by myself on a case by case basis. If you're interested in becoming a pupil, you can either contact me in game on Keiji Naru, or friend me on Discord (Sukocat#6745), at which point we'll set up an RP session at a time of your convenience that will be used to have the potential student express their interest, and have Keiji take stock of their 'Warrior Spirit' (Basically a fight). Please understand that I reserve the right to accept or deny students for any reason, and spacing for students is limited (probably 10 people tops). That said, if you're interested in attending, whether as a student or just a bystander, please do! ALL ARE WELCOME! Spacing may or may not be limited, and students have priority in the event that it becomes a problem. I highly doubt it will, but just saying. If you do attend, even as a non-student, please observe/respect the above rules. All students, upon accepting Keiji's mentorship, therefore agree to all the rules stated herein.))

8). - All Masters, Assistants, and studest will present themselves with respect during all training sessions and discussions. ((In other words, a uniform. Students will be required to wear the starting gear for the Samurai job (Nameless Togi set). The Masters and Assistants of the Dojo will be required to wear the Fuga attire, but allowed to wear whichever color they desire (in good taste). Additionally, students who have earned the right to fight the Sensei without a negative modifier are eligible to become the Dojo's 2nd Assistant, granting them the right to wear the Fuga attire in the color of their choosing (in good taste). This honor belongs only to the student who has defeated Keiji the highest number of times. In the event you do not have the Fuga attire, you will be gifted a set :D))

9). - ((Most of all, HAVE FUN! This event is meant to be fun, and maybe a bit enlightening, both ICly and OOCly.))
