  3. A UPEO Ranger variant that exchanges the submachine gun and Panzerfaust missiles with a heavy caliber rifle for anti-tank and fire support purposes. The heavy weight of the rifle does alter the Ranger's balance somewhat, but is compensated by removing some armor from the arms and legs of the unit. Rangers equipped with this rifle are designated as "Marksman Type", and the inclusion of one in a squad of conventionally equipped Defenders or Rangers have improved capability to engage heavily armored mecha or even tanks.

  5. Some UPEO pilots are known to use this type in solo operations to shoot down or disable key targets. However, the rifle contains only a very small amount of ammunition and only two spare magazines are usually allowed. Precise aim and discretion is recommended when deploying with the Ranger Marksman.
