  1. This is why these mass shootings occur. I’ve been listening to the news, and eighteen school shootings have occurred this year. That means dozens of young people have died, and that breaks my heart. But that also means eighteen students felt so isolated, so crushed, so misunderstood that they could commit such acts of violence and inhumanity. That means eighteen students felt like they were living in hell, that nobody cared for them. Who is to blame? Who is the defendant? We as a society are to blame. What is the verdict? We are guilty. This blood of children is on our hands. We see people sitting alone, seeming troubled, and we say nothing. We see people isolated and friendless, and we do nothing. We see people going through hell, and we do not help them. We see others with hate in their hearts, and we do not love them. We hate those who hate others! This is foolishness and folly. Will you put out a fire with fire? No! Only water can do that. Will you put out hate with hate, violence with violence? No! Only love can do that. We have failed. We are guilty. The blood of children is on our heads, and we are convicted.
