- [02:32] <+Kuza> he's having networking problems
- [02:32] <Abel> Hmm
- [02:32] <Abel> How old is the router?
- [02:32] <Abel> What kind of connection do you have?
- [02:32] <Abel> As in, is it cable, dsl? What's the speed? How high is your ping and jitter? Do you think it's just your router or something on the end with your isp?
- [02:32] <Abel> =3
- [02:33] <+Kuza> well he's sleeping now, but he'll need help with it tomorrow
- [02:33] <Abel> Ah
- [02:33] <Abel> Okay
- [02:33] <+Kuza> he's having trouble forwarding ports because he's going through two routers
- [02:33] <Abel> OH!
- [02:33] <Abel> WHy is he using two routers?
- [02:33] <+Kuza> NAT is closed and such while trying to play street fighter
- [02:33] <Abel> Turn the firewall off on one of the routers.
- [02:33] <Abel> Turn it into a switch by turning DHCP off on it too
- [02:34] <Abel> I would highly suggest just using one router
- [02:34] <Abel> But since that may not be an option for him
- [02:34] <Abel> Whichever one that isn't plugged into the modem should have the firewall turned off and DHCP off as well.
- [02:35] <Abel> That way there are no conflicts between the two routers trying to assign IP addresses.
- [02:35] <Abel> and also clears up having to forward ports on both routers
- [02:35] <Abel> There should be an option to turn on UPnP in his router configuration menu as well.
- [02:36] <Abel> Though I am guessing that he's trying to host a server so he would still need to forward his ports.
- [02:36] <Abel> =3
- [02:37] <Abel> If his routers are older than 5 years and have seen considerable use I would suggest upgrading.
