  24. This thread will cover the following topics, regarding raiding as a Warlock in Dreamstate:
  25. Carry Your Own Weight
  26. The Warlock Team
  27. Prohibited DoTs
  28. Curse Assignments
  29. Banishing
  30. Summoning
  31. Soulstones & Healthstones
  32. Soulshards
  33. Consumables
  34.
  35. Carry Your Own Weight - prologue
  36. The indisputable difference that sets Dreamstate apart from the remaining mediocre Horde guilds, is the fact that our members do not expect anyone to carry them, we expect you to drag your bleeding carcass over the finish line with the rest of us.
  37. As my demonic minions, flying the purple colours of the raid roster, my expectations are as such, as the following paragraphs will account for and elaborate on - if you thought this was gonna be a casual picnic in the dragon's shade, think again. We're fucking demon slinging, curse hauling, soul sucking warlocks, and you better act like it!
  38.
  39. The Warlock Team
  40. To DS or not to DS... that is the question
  41. The warlock team consists of four twisted, scrupulous purple bastards - who would enslave your (read Lis') mother, the second they get the chance.
  42.
  43. Two are refined in the arts of Demonic Sacrifice and two are adept in the mysteric Shadow Mastery.
  44.
  45. Demonic Sacrifice / Ruin
  46. Demonic Sacrifice: DS / Ruin is the supreme dps raid spec. In a full fledged encounter, (e.g.) the amalgam of multiplicative debuffs will, in correlation with Demonic Sacrifice, cause a critical strike with a shadow spell to do a staggering 401,5 % damage (against Shadow Mastery's 384,1 %). In addition is of course the option of sacrificing your Imp, providing 15% more fire damage, for the heavy AoE blasting.
  47. [*]Pyroclasm: In addition to the extra fire damage, Pyroclasm gives the (insane) 26% stun chance on Rain of Fire and Hellfire ticks - do I need to say more?
  48. Improved Healthstone: 20% increased healing effect.
  49. Demonic Embrace: 15% more Stamina.
  50. Despite DS / Ruin's advantages and benifits it has its shortcomings, seing as it doesn't allow for an active pet to be present, leaving our precious tanks without Blood Pact.
  51.
  52. Shadow Mastery / Ruin
  53. Nightfall: While Shadow Mastery may in general be inferior to Demonic Sacrifice in damage when it comes to single or (several) multiple targets, it overtakes the apex spec when it comes to cleave-sized groups (3-6~).
  54. Pet: SM / Ruin allows for an active pet, granting the tank group Blood Pact for survivability.
  55. Suppression: Although Affliction spells arent the bread-and-butter casts, the extra hit percentage means fewest resist -> fewer lifetaps -> less healing required, and of course a minor 'increase' in damage.
  56. Grim Reach: 20% longer range on Affliction spells.
  57. SM / Ruin may not come out as the top purple bar on the damage meter by the end of the raid, but it provides a crucial buff to the tank group.
  58. In addition it's a (very) suitable spec for PvP, unlike DS / Ruin.
  59.
  60. Prohibited DoTs
  61.
  62. The images above shows the inappropriate and taboo debuffs. Due to the (Blizzlike) 8 debuff limitation, it's imperative that none of these 8 slots are put to waste.
  63. Naturally, exceptions to the rule exists (e.g. Chromaggus, 20-man Onyxia's, certain trash in BWL) - but unless a reasonable cause lies behind, the depicted debuffs are never to be seen on the focused dps target.
  64.
  65. Curse Assignments
  66.
  67. Do mages provide you with any spell affinity granting debuffs? Of course they don't - fucking leeches .
  68. But they'll gladly take yours, and Lucifer be damned if you'll let your ego stand in your way of the greater good!
  69.
  70. The Curses generates 0 threat (Although they will aggravate), and are therefore to be expected the second the Boss/Mob has been pulled - Naturally, a mob with a measly 15k~ HP doesn't deserve the honor of being cursed, as the GCD wasted would be more damage if invested in a Shadow Bolt.
  71.
  72. All curses will be assigned a designated warlock at the beginning of every raid.
  73.
  74. Banishing
  75. Is it banishable? Are there other targets alive? Then what are you waiting for?!
  76. Banishes are expected, and will generally not be given as marked assignments (with obvious exceptions).
  77. This is your chance to show those bloody mages, just which class lies with the real power!
  78. Fight (dirty) to be the one who gets the banish off first - never expect someone to do the job (carry) for you.
  79.
  80. NB! Due to our (flabbergasting) Raid DPS, a Banish is generally not necessary for a very long time - Don't be the person who slows down the raid, and hotkey that Banish Rank 1.
  81.
  82. Summoning
  83. The gloomy side of the medallion... Apparently many views our devious and fearful class merely as the equivalence to the Wallmart Fat Scooter.
  84. These fat fucks hasn't arrived yet to the instance, or need to go and repair, because their Class Leader doesn't give a flying fuck that they're performing sub par, wasting everybody else's valuable time.
  85. But that ain't us! These meatheats may already be wasting dozens of their fellow raiders' time, but I'll be damned if a warlock will do the same!
  86. So as is the case with Banishes; never expect someone else to drag these cockjuggling thundercunts through a black portal - If someone requests a summon, you get that Soul Shard out of your ass and utilize it to get the piece of scum to the correct location. The supreme class shall never be the suckling infant on the raidgroup's tit.
  87.
  88. Soulstones & Healthstones
  89. Soulstone and Healthstone benefactors will be assigned at the beginning of every raid. It is your responsibility to inform your assigned benefactor that you are their Healthstone whore, and they should treat you accordingly.
  90.
  91. Soulshards
  92. As previously mentioned; fat fucks are gonna super slack - and summons costs shards.
  93. Bring plently of shards to every raid, not only for Summons, Health Stones and Pets - but we have an ace up our sleeve that leaves the drooling, impotent mages dumbfounded.
  94.
  95. ShadowBURN
  96. "Do I want an extra 1-2k damage every 15th second, with no GCD? Ermm.. Does the pope endorse pedophiles?"
  97. An 80~ dps difference on a 5 minute boss fight is a whopping fuckton of difference - it costs shards though, lots of shards.
  98. But we're fucking warlocks! This is not a matter of min-maxing, it's a matter of fuckstarting the damage meters and raping those pathetic mages!
  99. So come prepared, come with shards, don't let a single chance to Drain Soul pass and channel those purple shards of power into pure evil, flesh warping damage.
  100.
  101. Consumables
  102. I'll wrap up my rant with a list of the consumables I will expect of you to have at your disposal, to wreck face and prove that purple is the supreme class:
  103.
  104. Flask of Supreme Power
  105. Greater Arcane Elixir
  106. Arcane Elixir
  107. Elixir of Shadow Power
  108. Brilliant Wizard Oil
  109. Elixir of Greater Intellect
  110. Rumsey Rum Black Label
  111. Well Fed 12 stam/10 int
  112. Oil of Immolation (Shit stacks with spell power and Demonic Sacrifice - but doesn't have a CD(!))
  113. Major Healing Potion
  114. Major Mana Potion
  115. Heavy Runecloth Bandage
  116. Limited Invulnurability Potion
  117.
  118. Epilogue
  119. With my final words I will clarify on the obvious:
  120. I expect you to know your class,
  121. I expect you to know the encounters,
  122. I expect you to do the damage your potential promises,
  123. I expect you to look twice on your threat for every time you check your damage,
  124. I expect you to show your fellow raiders the respect of showing up for the scheduled raids,
  125. and I expect you to show the Guild and the server that a Dreamstate warlock is not a force to be taken fucking lightly.
  126.
  127. TL;DR - reroll a Mage you lazy cunt

  135. P.S. there are no stupid questions, only mages. If you do not feel you have an absolute understanding of my meaning in something I have stated, come and ask me - if I am not conferred with, I will assume that I have made myself clear.

  142. as of the current content patch on Nostalrius, there is no space for corruption on the 8 debuff slots, so you are prohibited to use it in raids. We will have to check if the shadowburn debuff removes something more useful like isb, so it is allowed until further notice.
