SETTING planet does not spin, one side constantly has sun and one side doesn't

MAIN CHARACTER human guy

wakes up and doesn't know where he is
in a lab, other humans around
he finds out they are on that planet and he's confused
he's from earth
they explain that their planet thrived in the sunlight and developed amazing technology
and they no longer go onto the dark side of the planet, the planet fell into a dark time
and their civilization fell slowly
the people who found him are rebels who are trying to find a way to survive
he explains to them that he's from earth and he doesn't know any planet that doesn't spin
they tell him he was found in this lab while they were looking for weapons
he reluctantly follows them to learn how he got there
they eventually find out they have to go on the dark side of the planet and uncover a plot
that involves the human government trying to do something but it fails and society crumbles
now the government is trying to get to the dark side of the planet because IT'S WHERE THE
VERY FIRST HUMANS LANDED AND HAVE TO GET THROUGH EPIC STUFF TO GET TO IT AND FIND THE
COORDINATES OF EARTH AND FIND THE ORIGINAL HUMANS

Chapter summary
Chapter 1 – protagonist wakes up in a lab, surrounded by shoddy and broken medical equipment, people around him are armed and running around urgently, the facility they’re in is falling apart, he can’t move well and can’t remember anything, two of the people help him up and tell him they need to go immediately, and while escaping the facility he finds out they were in the facility looking for data, weapons, and supplies, and he agrees to go with them in hopes that he may find out who he is.
Chapter 2 – government officials in a building discuss vaguely about rebels around the city and how the public is terrified for their lives, they talk about how religious leaders around the world are all talking about the end of days, the government officials then hint at a plan to end all of their worries. Meanwhile the protagonist and his new companions discuss how he was found in the lab and they didn’t want to leave him to die, they talk about their pasts and what the protagonist can recall of his, along their journey the protag notices how the sun never sets, they tell him that the planet always has sunlight because it’s always facing the sun, the protag claims it can’t possibly be true because the earth orbits the sun and rotates on an axis, then they tell him the planet isn’t called earth, it’s called (planet name)
Chapter 3 – the rebels get back to their base, an underground bunker with at least 100 rebels living there and using it as a base of operations, they tell protag all about how the government tried to impose stricter and stricter laws, eventually bending and abusing them, eventually violating human rights and causing their utopian society to slowly crumble, one city at a time. They are the rebels who fight against the government and it’s oppressive regime, and they rescue people from the government’s holding facilities and use their own weapons against them. The protag takes all of this in and recalls the planet being always in the sunlight, and asks what the other side of the planet is like. They tell him it’s a desolate wasteland where creatures that can only live in the dark reside, and by description they all sound like mutated versions of animals from earth.




Explanation of how humans arrived on the planet
Around the year 2030 humans on Earth acquired antimatter (negative energy) to open a wormhole in space and time because they had it mapped to end at the most suitable nearby planet system for colonization. The wormhole’s calculations were off and it sent them to a vast minefield (they hear the recording of it at the government building) and they crash land on the planet. Because of the crash the humans lose contact with Earth and end up creating their own society off the supplies from the ship and the light side of the planet. The government formed shortly after and once technology was developed it soon became corrupt. At the time of the story the government has the technology for space travel but it’s kept hidden from the public.
Chapter 1

	The roof shook, this time more violently. Broken medical equipment toppled as the lab rattled. Lights flickered, making faces vague and blurred.
“Come on!” yelled an unknown voice,
“We’ve got to move, now!” The man laying on the cold steel operating table looked around, clueless to the destruction that fell upon him.
“Agh… Where am I?” he asked with a cough.
“Medical building 3104.” came a sharp reply.
“Where the hell…” he said as he leaned up, clutching his chest. Sharp pain shot through his legs and up his spine.
“What’s happening? Where is everyone? Why am I here?!” he yelled, as a woman in raggedy sweats and a vest came to his side. She was fair skinned, rugged – but with a certain elegance about her. She moved with grace, but cautiously. Her blood red hair dangled weightlessly above his body.
“What’s wrong, can you move?” she inquired as she prodded his legs and arms.
“Barely.”
“Well we’ve got to get the hell out of here, this place is falling apart and we’re wasting precious time. You coming or not?” she snapped.
“I don’t even know where HERE is! What am I doing in this place and who are you people?” he snapped back.
“Where have you been living, under a rock? We’re rebels, and by the way they screwed you up we assumed you were too. Now if you want to continue talking while we all get buried so be it, but I’d rather live.” She started away.
“Wait! I can’t move, how can I escape?” he said helplessly. After a brief pause, the woman motioned for two men to help him up.
“I don’t know who you guys are but thanks for not letting me die in this place.” He said softly as they hoisted him up between them.
“No problem, mate!” came a reply from the left.
“Yeah, glad to help.” said the other.
“So what are you guys doing in this place anyways? It doesn’t exactly look like you work here.” questioned the mysterious man.
“We should ask you the same thing. If you’re not a rebel, what exactly does the government want from you?”  the man on the left  questioned.
