After several months of development, community testing and feedback, Team Xonotic is proud to announce the release of Xonotic 0.5.

Xonotic is a free, open source (GPL), ultra-fast, first-person shooter with multiplayer online matches. A generally friendly community made up of players, developers, and artists who enjoy learning and refining their skills through contribution and collaboration with other players from around the globe are the heartbeat of this project.  Players can see how Xonotic is created, even join in the creation process.

Xonotic 0.5 brings a large amount of changes and new features.  The community was very helpful in providing quality feedback regarding balance, in addition to contributing art, code and other services that help keep this project strong.

With over 15 weapons and tools, numerous maps and game modes, movement techniques that are easy to learn but, difficult to master, and community packages give players a game that evolves as they do.
