- Type chrome:plugins in the address bar
- Find "Flash" in the list (I don't think they're in alphabetical order)
- If Chrome shows 2 (or more) files installed, then click +Details button in the uppermost righthand corner of the plugins screen - this will expand all of the plugins, and show you each version of Flash that's installed.
- Disable all but the most recent version number of Flash.
- Exit out of Chrome and restart. You should be good to go. (Might not even require a full exit/restart - you could probably just close and reopen, but I wanted to be sure).
- Worked for me and got rid of what was becoming a real annoyance
