@everyone Gentlemen i am sure you are all aware by now of the recent situation in #lore_writers that ended with VT's dismissal from the team. This situation is currently being reviewed by the council. This is not a notice of disciplinary action nor is it an accusation against any single party. We are currently awaiting more info from jackboot as he is at work. If in the meantime any of you have any comments to make please send them to me in a PM. I will relay them to the council.

For the first of these topics, the dismissal of VT, @Shahanshah Jackboot is going to explain the reasoning behind his decision. We will then discuss this a bit before moving onto the next topic.

I acknowledge that her dismissal was not done properly, because I did not set aside the time to talk to her about the warning she was getting, and it escalated in a short amount of time, as I was eating breakfast before work. When she responded to her warning how she did, with further accusations and saying the guidelines I've been pushing out are a joke, I felt it was unbecoming enough for a dismissal. They had longstanding issues brought to the attention of Mofo and the other Heads, and disciplinary action was a long time coming, but how it ended up being done wasn't done correctly.

They were going to get a warning no matter what. It was not in response to the conversation we  had in the lore channel about language vs dialectics, which I think some people think I got angry over, because it looked like a direct response.

If I could do it over again, I would wait to give them the warning after work when I had several hours of time to set aside for them, if needed.

Can you outline what they did wrong? Maybe this is just an optics thing, which I hope it is. I just found it very odd that despite your history of being very lax in terms of retaining people, such as the cases of Killerhuntz and Loow, and possibly others where I had to push to get you to take their activity seriously when I was still a head admin. But in the case of VT, the person that filed a complaint on you and your most open critic on the team was easily kicked out.

One of the primary complaints leveed against me was my lax attitude about my staff's behavior. This was something that I was told I needed to change. That is why the guidelines about warnings/etc were set up.

I have a really bad history of metaphors immediately exploding on me but I would still want to describe the behavior as a thousand small cuts. The behavior I and Mofo noticed was a longstanding problem they seemed to have with me, and any sort of criticism I brought forth on them.  The long and short of it is they seemed really hostile whenever I questioned a decision they were making.

I'm here to use editorial oversight and what have you. The most recent and egregious example is our discussion, with you present, about the skrell economy. How they talked to me was really disrespectful, and I found it unusual that they abrubtly ended the conversation by saying they were going to sleep, then for the next hour or so they kept talking about the same topic in the Vaurca Chat because Bygone saw the topic and I had the same conversation with them which went pretty good.

During the conversation they also showed contempt for me giving them the guidelines I'm trying to now run the team by. When I asked them to describe the change in 12 words or less they showed open contempt, disregarded it, and went on to type a really long explanation. When I brought up that players will probably interpret it in other ways, they got mad, leading up to the sleep remark.

There is an etc etc etc. There's been a lot of these situations and it adds up to seem like VT had/s contempt for me and wanted absolutely nothing to do with any of my oversight on them.
These instances were brought to Mofo1994 initially wanting a probation, but I downgraded it to a warning to abide by the guideline, and he agreed. It was scheduled for the 11th, but RL forced a delay to when it happened.
