  1. ok so i have a lot of questions……………
  2.
  3.
  4.
  5. if Dekker was a MURDERBOT 9000 so relentless that he had to be taken away from his family because he killed their dog, how on earth did he work for fairlight for years and years without incident?? he says that it’s been stifling or whatever, but he paints it like he became a murder monster that just couldn’t stop thirsting for death, so idk how he was able to quell that and appear… normal for as long as he did, it just doesn’t make sense
  6.
  7. the epilogue mostly dealt with my issues IRT to this, but i really don’t understand how all the ROMs in the world were able to even HANDLE turing’s sentience code. hayden built turing specifically to be able to handle sentience, so how can like, a roomba ROM manage it? the epilogue shows that some of the ROMs are distressed because they’re unable to really deal with or even make use of having sentience, so i guess that thought is sorttttt of addressed, but i still question the plausibility of every ROM like… even having the memory space for coding that huge (turing himself says he has to be careful how he manages his space)

  9. everything surrounding hayden’s death is…………. weird and disappointing? it feels like they Chekov’s Gun us HARDCORE by revealing that he was actually trying to figure out how to place a human mind in a robot body and then never do anything with that… (also isn’t dekker sort of proof that they basically have the technology to transplant a brain into a ROM? albeit an extremely unstable and homicidal one, but…)
  10.
  11. and even after tomcat’s reveal that they found encrypted footage of hayden dying, something about it didn’t seem right. where’s the body? why is there no sign of violence in the apartment when Main Character and turing first check it out? the game mentions something about how neighbors didn’t even hear people break into hayden’s apartment. there’s NO WAY they didn’t hear a gunshot. it might just be an oopsie in the writing, but it doesn’t add up.
  12.
  13. i saw the theory that hayden lied and caused turing to experience false senses of people breaking into the apartment, so that he could hide the true nature of whatever he was about to do from turing… and that maybe he was about to try to really put his mind in a ROM body, and he’s out there somewhere, not dead…. i hope this is the case because hayden just dying and us never getting closure on his death, who killed him, etc, is kind of frustrating
  14.
  15. personal point: I WANTED TO SEE GRACE. even just a picture. never getting to see what grace looked like was really disappointing!!! show me the sister robot!!!!!!!!!!
  16.
  17. on that note, hayden as a character seems…. confused. like turing comes to the realization that hayden wasn’t as likable a creator as they thought, but he’s also supposedly still a really good person since everyone who knew him liked and respected him. it seems weird and short sighted that hayden wouldn’t have been smart enough to realize that grace was “just a genuinely nice robot,” (as turing asserts she was, based off of their assessment of her code) and even if she were becoming manipulative like hayden thought she was, that didn’t seem like grounds to shut down an otherwise really complex and seemingly successful AI. it just seems dumb to do that. in fact, i think if anything, unconsciously “manipulating” other people to become endeared to you in order to assure your survival is a very human thing, whether humans are cognitively aware of it or not!!
