  45. 06[20:08] * Soul pulls out his notebook again. "Lesse, uhh..." and reads off a list of the things he told the elder Apothecary that he turned out to be low of supply on or plain out

  47. 06[20:10] * Relain nods "Caused a few upsets with 'em, in fact."
  48. [20:11] <Shim> "Dragons... Gates." Shim looks at a join like it's unnescery before placing it back in her pocket and nodding.

  50. [20:11] <@Clarence|ST> "Right." The Apothecary rubs his eyes and blinks a little. "You'll find Alabaster flowers over by here... Bebe Seeds drop around, of course, the Bebe trees down south..." He starts naming the ingredients. "...And one last thing, the Broc Flower..."

  54. [20:13] <Gandr> "Couldn't afford a jug of it back then, though. Never got around to taste it, either."
  55. 01[20:13] <Soul> "Like I told you, my good man, I've been in these forests before. I developed a good sense of what to find where at a young age."

  57. [20:13] <@Clarence|ST> "The Broc Flower is a bit of a doozy. It's exceedingly rare." He glances at Gandr. "They make one hell of a brew, they do. But their medicinal properties aren't to be underestimated."
  58. 06[20:14] * Kris gives her arms a good stretch. "Well, we know what we're looking for, so lets go get it."
  59. 06[20:16] * Kris looks over Soul's shoulder at his book of notes, reading the descriptions of the various ingredients.
  60. 06[20:17] * Soul notices Kris attempting to get a peek, and gives her a better view. "Tell me...Lemy...knowing what you know, what would YOUR first move be?"
  61. 06[20:17] * Gandr keeps his eyes on the forest. The others seem to know what they're doing, so maybe Gandr should do something he knows how to do, as well.
  62. 06[20:17] * Kris nods to Soul and commits the description to memory, before moving off a bit to look around.

  65. 06[20:18] * Shim shuffles towards a tree, she settles under it taking up a well practiced pose she begins quietly meditating.

  73. [20:35] <Clarence_Mage> Shim does a whole lot of nothing and 'meditates' on what can only be assumed is a looping track of "Dude" and "Whoa", a mantra perfected by the monk Keanu. Relain, Lemy, Soul, & Kris go off on an expedition for the ingredients, and they come back with hefty amounts of ingredient.

  75. 01[20:36] <Soul> "We certainly made out well. Doctor, any ingredients we don't use for this cure, we split, 50/50?"
  76. [20:36] <Clarence_Mage> Gandr, standing guard over Shim, is rather bored for the time they were away. However, he does spot a Stryx carrying a very rotten arm in it's beak when it was flying overhead.
  77. 06[20:37] * Gandr sticks out his tongue and grimaces. Those things are bad luck.
  78. 06[20:38] * Shim has most likely atleast tried to convince Gandr to join her in meditation, whether he does or does it with dedication is up to him.
  79. 06[20:40] * Gandr thinks sitting still in order to achieve peace of mind is silly. You're only really doing something when you're moving.
  80. 06[20:40] * Gandr tries not to disturb the strange thing she's doing.
  81. 06[20:40] * Kris hands the ingredients to Soul and Lemy, before walking over to Gandr. She asks him. "What are you looking at?"
  82. 06[20:41] * Shim is humming quietly in her meditation, it's melodious and lovely to the ear.

  86. [20:41] <Gandr> "But I don't get it."
  87. 06[20:41] * Soul turns his attention to Shim. "So she didn't do ANYTHING?"
  88. [20:41] <Gandr> "Well obviously."
  89. 06[20:41] * Soul has a tone of annoyance in his voice
  90. 06[20:41] * Gandr does a little fustrated hand-movement.
  91. 01[20:41] <Soul> "Of all the freebooting, freeloading-"
  92. [20:41] <Shim> "BITCH I'M TRYING TO REACH INNER PEACE." She barks before calmly closing her eyes once more.

  94. 06[20:42] * Soul jumps back a little at the interruption

  97. 01[20:42] <Soul> "We didn't BRING you here to achieve inner peace."
  98. [20:42] <Gandr> "You have to move in order to get anywhere."
  99. 06[20:42] * Shim continues to hum quietly~
  100. [20:42] <Gandr> "She brought herself."

  102. 01[20:42] <Soul> "She's under the same contract, remember?"
  103. [20:42] <Shim> "Like, look around you. Forests are way peaceful, y'know. Sit, chill, you'll like, live longer."
  104. [20:42] <Gandr> "I mean, on chain, she hasn't done anything that cost us anything."
  105. 01[20:43] <Soul> "She has a duty to uphold, same as with all of us."
  106. [20:43] <Clarence_Mage> "50/50? That's certainly fair. Now, about the Broc Flower..." He starts explaining exactly why the Broc Flowers are a bit of a problem. Over the last few years, their population has been dwindling, and they seem to be only found on this one certain waterfall, a fair distance in the forest.
  107. [20:43] <Gandr> "Yeah but that chain's not something YOU paid for, Soul."
  108. [20:43] <Gandr> "I'm not trying to get your links in a mess, but honestly she's not hurting anyone, sitting there."
  109. 01[20:44] <Soul> "She could have helped us. And ideally she would have."
  110. 01[20:44] <Soul> "If she's just going to sit around and smoke her herbs and do nothing, then she's of no use to us."
  111. [20:45] <Kris> "Boys, calm down!"
  112. [20:45] <Gandr> "But neither is she a weight around our necks."
  113. [20:45] <Gandr> "She walks, she carries her own stuff."
  114. 01[20:45] <Soul> "Well then she'd BETTER pull her own weight, at LEAST."
  115. 06[20:46] * Kris turns to Shi. "So we need to find some Broc Flowers, further in the forest, near a waterfall?"
  116. 06[20:46] * Soul turns around and walks back to Shi. "Sorry about that, I just can't stand do-nothing lagabouts like..."
  117. [20:46] <Clarence_Mage> "Precisely. And Lemy knows exactly how to get it."
  118. [20:46] <Gandr> "Quit yanking her chain. You found what you were looking for, right ? And finding plants are your specialties, anyway."
  119. 01[20:46] <Soul> "I didn't catch what you said before. You said something happened to the Brocc Flower?"
  120. 06[20:47] * Shim reaches into her pocket, a joint is pulled and the ignition stone gets a cool blow over. She strikes the joint over the warm stone and takes a deep drag from it, an exhalation producing a hand of smoke, flipping someone off.
  121. 06[20:48] * Kris draws her fan and starts flicking it open and closed, obviously agitated.
  122. [20:49] <Gandr> "So. Do we go ?"
  123. [20:49] <Gandr> "It shouldn't take more than a swipe."
  124. 01[20:50] <Soul> "I didn't hear about this, though. What happened to the flower? Did a disease wipe out most of it?"
  125. 06[20:50] * Soul seems noticably concerned

  127. [20:52] <Clarence_Mage> "Indeed, a disease did." Lemy adjusts his hairband. "Peculiar that it seems to have only targetted the Broc Flower, Uisi Root in the Northeast, and for some reason the Opal Wreaths all the way in the east. Be sure to note those down."
  128. 01[20:52] <Soul> "Oh? Those ingredients..."
  129. 06[20:52] * Soul whips out his notebook again and makes some notes, then CONSULTES some notes...
  130. [20:53] <Clarence_Mage> *All the way in the west. Herp.
  131. 06[20:55] * Soul makes some nodding gestures and 'hmmmm'ing noises as he flips through...
  132. 06[20:58] * Soul suddenly stops, smiles a little, makes a slight "a haaaaa..." sound, and closes his notebook satisfyingly.
  133. [20:58] <Clarence_Mage> When he closes his notebook, a crash is heard.
  134. 01[20:58] <Soul> "I think they're simply being-"
  135. 06[20:59] * Kris starts looking around wildly.
  136. [20:59] <Gandr> "On your toes."
  137. [20:59] <Clarence_Mage> The crash sheems to reverb all around of them, the sound of trees being destroyed, along with the piercing screeches of Stryxii
  138. [21:00] <Gandr> "Ah, break my legs on links ..."
  139. 06[21:01] * Kris eyes the creatures warily, keeping her fan raised.
  140. 06[21:02] * Gandr becomes openly tense.
  141. [21:03] <Clarence_Mage> Kris hears something underneath the pained screeches of the giant owls. A strange, almost choral moaning... AND A GIANT STRYX CRASHES THROUGH THE CANOPY WITH FIVE ZOMBIES ATTACHED TO IT HOLY CHRIST. Through the canopy, tens, no, HUNDREDS more can be seen. Only this time, they arn't being assaulted by zombies. Their normally snowy feathers look dead and dying, some fall out with each flap, and their normally piercing
  142. [21:03] <Clarence_Mage> eyes are a dull red. And they're coming straight for you.
  143. 06[21:03] * Gandr moreso than just the prospect of combat - something about these things set him off.
  144. [21:04] <Relain> "...I believe this is the time to run."
  145. [21:04] <Gandr> "What the chain is wrong with these birds ?!"
  146. [21:04] <Clarence_Mage> "Quick, this way!" Lemy is already running.
  147. 06[21:04] * Soul follows Lemy
  148. 06[21:05] * Gandr follows Lemy.
  149. 06[21:05] * Kris dashes off along with the others, with Lemy and Gandr in the lead.
  150. 06[21:05] * Shim stands up and shuffles along behind the people, she doesn't look in a hurry but she's keeping up perfectly well.

  152. [21:07] <Clarence_Mage> "Okay, what IN THE NAME OF THE MAIDENS IS GOING ON HERE!?" Mr Shi yells at the top of his lungs as he's running along with Lemy, lifting his robe so that he can actually run through this forest, which seems to tangle further into an unholy mass of flora.
  153. 06[21:07] * Gandr With each step, Gandr mutters and curses under his breath, the exact words of which shall not be reproduced.
  154. 01[21:07] <Soul> "I guess Stryx can get infected too?!"
  155. 06[21:07] * Kris closes her eyes for a brief moment, and a faint gold circle appears on her forehead, Her clothes begin to shimmer with essence.
  156. [21:08] <Gandr> "CHAINING BIRDS, break their liinnnkkss !"
  157. 01[21:08] <Soul> "Shaddap!"
  158. [21:14] <Clarence_Mage> Kris, Lemy, Shi, and Gandr gracefully if hurriedly make their way through the shrubbery, with Shim & Relain following at a decent pace. Soul, however, gets himself snagged on an inconveniently uplifted tree root, and falls to his face, putting him VERY far behind.
  159. 06[21:15] * Soul lands with a ceremonious THUMP facefirst. "Son of a-!" and attempts to right himself as fast as possible
  160. 06[21:15] * Relain does his damnedest to help Soul up in his fleeing
  161. 06[21:15] * Shim stops in place and on her heal runs back, helping Relain to help Soul.
  162. 06[21:16] * Gandr is tempted to help Shimmer help Relain help soul, but decides against it.
  163. [21:19] <Clarence_Mage> Shim & Relain try to help Soul up, but he just gets pried on another root. Struggling to get him up, The leading stryx sets his eye set on the struggling solar, so it can satiate it's undead hunger with some Soul food. It Zooms down, screeching in ungodly hunger, and dives it's claws DIRECTLY INTO THE SOIL, crashing and tumbling forwards. Shim & Relain managed to get soul out of there in there nick of time, and star

  165. 06[21:24] * Soul sorta shakes his head as he's running, considerably (and understandably) flustered

  168. 06[21:25] * Relain is quite panicked as he starts running without Soul, deciding he doesn't need mortal aid "I THOUGHT ANATHEMA COULD OUTRUN A CHEETAH!"

  170. 01[21:26] <Soul> "I SWEAR THAT'S THE FIRST TIME I'VE SNAGGED MYSELF ON A ROOT! I'm usually better about these things!"

  172. [21:27] <Gandr> "Now's not the time for snacking, Shimmer !"
  173. 06[21:27] * Gandr is slowing a little, keeping half an eye on the happenings behind him.
  174. 06[21:28] * Soul is also slowing a LITTLE, trying to keep an eye on what's in FRONT of him, so as not to, y'know, TRIP AGAIN
  175. 06[21:28] * Kris spins around and starts running backwards, so she can keep an eye on the deadly snow owls
  176. [21:29] <Clarence_Mage> "CAVE! THERE'S A CAVE!" Lemy points to a cave in the side of a rocky, rocky hill. "THEY CAN'T ALL FIT THROUGH THE ENTRANCE!"
  177. 06[21:29] * Kris turns around again and starts bounding yards at a time, catching up to Lemy and looking around.

  179. 06[21:31] * Gandr Runs to cave entrance, then stops and readies asskickings.

  182. [21:32] <Clarence_Mage> Kris, Gandr, Mr Shi, Lemy, and Relain all reach inside the cave. However, Shim & Soul are still left outside while the rest of the party are inside, the screeching of the undead owls continuing an ungodly chorus

  188. 06[21:35] * Shim pulls a massive guitar from her back and turns around, holding it out in front of her she hops back a few steps, "Like, GET FUCKING RUNNING." She shouts at Soul, stopping in her tracks to hold these bastards off.
  189. 01[21:36] <Soul> "Don't be foolish, at least let's get inside the cave so we can defend ourself!"
  190. [21:36] <Shim> "I'm like, carrying my weight out here, just go, y'know?" She replies, stepping backwards slowly.

  192. [21:37] <Gandr> "GET YOUR MEASLY BUTTS IN HERE."
  193. 01[21:37] <Soul> "Very funny, now come on, you can carry your weight in a safer place!"

  195. 06[21:39] * Shim continues to edge towards the cage slowly, on the watch for those owls fuck they're fast.

  200. [22:06] <Clarence_Mage> A bigass stryx descends from the canopy, and starts charging at the stranded Soul!
  201. 06[22:10] * Soul senses the stryx's weight descending on him, and does the only thing he CAN do while running: grab a clump of soil with his free hand, turn around, and chuck it in the bird's face without breaking cadence.
  202. [22:13] <Clarence_Mage> The Stryx takes a faceful of dirt, and spirals out of control. It crashes into the rocky wall.

  212. [22:17] <Clarence_Mage> The next stryx lands right down infront of Shim, and starts clawing at the ground. It seems to have zombies biting at it's exposed brain. It lowers its head, and charges at you like a spotty freight train of pestilence, feathers, and zombie.
  213. 06[22:18] * Shim stops and well... Stares. "Woah, bro, thats like, fucked up." She bliks, perhaps the most movement her eyes have done in a long time.

She tenses and springs forward, dress trailing behind her as she slaps one palm down on the top of the fetid creature's beak. [01:06] <Kris> She lets her momentum carry her legs forward, grabbing her fan as she starts to tilt, before curling over completely, her body arched with one hand on her fan, her toes touching it's tail. In another second, she slides off, standing upright and the creature crashing into the cave wall behind her.
