  9. Riley Keller - 11/18/2017
  10. Riley Keller would quickly arrive at a near trot pace. White hair pulled up and armed, she would quickly hop the steps to land in a rush at the undercity entrance.
  11. Gibbit moved at Riley's side, managing to keep up if only for his long legs, otherwise he would've been proportionately slow. He quickly leaned toward Riley to whisper again.
  12. Evren: Evren was rather unfortunately getting used to the drow's summons, and was doing her best to avoid associating the poor fellow with the potential for situations spiraling speedily to shit. C'est la vie. But the woman nonetheless arrived, staff tied to her back flanked by soldiery fresh from the lab and staunchly inhuman (one insistently paired to Xanthic with all of the airs of a harried mother packing a lunch), created and coded to-order. Shield guardians: More muscle, less minds on which to prey. Brisk little nods were given to the assembled Councilors!
  13. Alhsom had to make up for lost time... and he did so thanks to the miracle of flight. Spotting where the others had gathered, he angled himself and descended from above and came in for a nice, easy landing from the southwest. The tigon wore some of his armor, but knowing where they were going? He was more concerned with mobility. "Right then. Master Keller, this is your show. Feel free to raise the curtain."
  14. Riley Keller - 11/18/2017
  15. Xanthic came in from the sky, dropping down to the meeting location via a dive bomb. Male flared both pairs of wings before impact, slowing him down enough to land on his feet. Brilliant armour and devious weaponry accompanied him this time. "I... uhm... thought I would dress down a little for the occasion." Polite bow to all of those present and male looked from one to the next in relative silence. Mask was worn, males head tilting to the side some. (URL: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2a/Australian_Raven%2C_NSW.JPG) Mysterious bird had taken to his shoulder shortly afterwards, searching unblinking eyes taking in all present as well. "Please do not mind my companion. It was a last minute adjustment and shouldn't provide any hassle to our endeavours." Bowing his head a little he'd smile, "to whom do I directly report?" Looking around he'd chuckle a bit, "considering you're all of the council it leaves me a little in the dark to the one leading the show. Haha." He seemed jovial for what they're planning and all.
  16.
  17. Riley Keller would glance to the bird, Evren would be given a thankful nod, "Did you by chance managed to bring the amulets you spoke of?" She would then she'd look to Gibbit. A pause, and then nod, "Perhaps in the future, should tonight be unsuccesful. I am optimistic." She'd then look to Alhsom as he arrived, giving a breathless nod before she'd look to Xanthic, her eyes narrowing, "It is fine.." Her voice then fell quiet, "For now, you may answer to me; I will defer to Master Gibbit and Master Evren as needed, as they will both indeed be needed." She'd then look at the lot, "We won't dwaddle." She'd then move for the entrance and hold the door open, "Let's go." She would quickly usher all in if possible, only after though Evren could pass out amulets, if she had them.(edited)
  18. Gibbit looked up with a small frown as Xanthic descended from above, but then rose a brow at the bird. He tried to catch its eye but it ignored him. It wasn't the one he knew. He nodded as Riley said she would defer to him and Evren. "I always start out optimistic, Master Keller" he mused softly "I have your back, let us go" and with that he would follow, but certainly would take an amulet if it were available.
  19. Evren: "Oh, absolutely, master Keller." Ev grinned a bit humorlessly pulled up a sleeve - they were all hanging around them, and she'd untie and quickly distribute as needed, speaking as if they were all about to embark on a rather odd field trip. "Keep these on you, each represents one of these fellows," a gesture at the constructs, "and each is for you and only you. If we run into any trouble, they will defend each of you without any issue until they're unable. Spellcasters, if you wish, each one can store a simple spell in it. Can't really handle anything more complex than one charge if you're lucky, but if you need something small in a pinch, as long as you prepare..." A shrug. "I'd make it go boom. Boom's easy. Boom's mean, if we need mean. Hopefully we won't need mean." And with that, she too would follow Riley and company!
  20. Xanthic nodded his head, looking to the bird a moment before turning his attention toward Riley with a smile. "As you wish." Glancing around he'd take a breath and sigh. This was going to be fun. As the rest filed in, he'd follow quietly taking up as much of the rear as would be allowed. Wings flexed and drew in around his form tightly, examining the recently familiar sights of the Undercity. "I'm sure this is going to go over well." He added, optimistic. He'd been down here alone, now he was in a competent group. This should be a breeze. "Councilwoman Keller, when we go to capture one alive... I've mixed a special concoction of the neuro-toxin I use with my darts, would I be permitted to try one on a subject to see if we can expedite the capture with potentially less risk?" Taking and eyeing the amulet a moment he'd shrug putting it on. Couldn't hurt. Clutching pendant he'd begin to charge it, left hand glowing as magic was dumped into it.
  21. Riley Keller quickly looped her amulet around her head, murmuring, "Excellent, thank you Master Evren." As they'd move into the waterways, she'd wince, heading quickly for the undercity market. There were easier avenues, but this let them keep a look out on the way, the woman murmuring, "Let me know if you see any new bodies... I've yet to be sure..." No doubt the sheild guard would soon be right on her tail now that she had her amulet on, blue eyes scouring, "They clustered out at the market and then worked their way out." She'd then grunt to Xanthic, "...if it will not distort or damage the mind, I do not have too much of a problem with it. Does it act like a sedative?" She'd turn a corner as she'd head deeper into the waterways.
  22. Gibbit smiled a little at Evren as he put the amulet on around his neck and continued on his way behind Riley. As they moved underground Gibbit felt his energy boost a little, surrounded by earth. "I'll seek with my magic shortly, but first i'm prepping my construct" and with that he began to cast a simple spell into the amulet so that the construct could use it if needed. A ranged ensnare spell, thrown vines that acted like a weighted net. It wasn't a big impact spell but one Gibbit felt was important to have at a moments notice. "the market? makes sense. Hive of activity."
  23. Naunethi: An unassuming Peterbald feline followed after the group. She trailed at a distance, adopting the idle pace of a meandering feral, whose objective was obscure but "surely" had something to do with acquiring food. She would not intervene or interact. Her "aura" was suppressed, seeming simple as an animal's. {feel free to leave Naun out of the posting order unless someone tries to confront!}
  24. Evren: "Easy to disappear in such a place, too..." Ev added to Gib's own observation. Her own fellow stalked eagerly after her, and after a moment she'd relented, prepping her own; she wasn't an offensive caster as much as an enchanter-transmutor (with a mean streak of a breath weapon!), but a boom would suffice, and so she'd set to work planting a fireball in her own as they moved along. Eyes open, searching, listening in on the sedative business, one hand slipping on the scrying-specs.
  25. Alhsom didn't have anything to really add, and so continued on with being quiet. He was here for the task of subduing and being security, or at least thats what he'd figured since Riley had asked for the guard's involvement. With his amulet now in his right hand, the tigon considered it and its ability to hold a spell... Then took a look at his shield guardian for a moment, then glanced towards the others... He had obviously ended up with the runt of the litter. With a slight shrug, he chose to instead imbue his with a defensive spell, something that'd create a barrier, even if it wasn't tremendously powerful, it may be of use.
  26.
  27. Xanthic nodded some toward Riley. "Yes. It temporarily blocks movement. It's a paralytic... of sorts. I generally use another variant of it, but with what I managed to discover last time I was down here I reformulated it for this particular situation." Reaching into his bracer he'd tug one of his quills free flipping it around so the pointed end was aimed at him, offering the safe end to her. "You know, just in case and all. Anyone want one?" Glancing toward each of the members of their party he'd give out to any who desired one. "Melee, or ranged. It should be enough to put one out fairly quickly." A shake of his head, "although I'd recommend not trying to use it on the violent ones." Unclasping his maces he'd draw them up and test the weight in his hands, lightly swinging the weapons around a moment a grin melting across hidden lips. Hands began to glow, weapon reciprocating as they began to take a charge similar to the amulet had though they handled the transfer of energy easy.
  28. The area looked as if it had played host to some kind of horrible historical battle. Blood spatter coated the ground and pillars, and several of the stands had been flat out smashed. One was even ablaze, its owner dancing and laughing amidst the flames of their own property even as their skin began to boil and blister. This hysterical, incoherent laughter echoed through the undercity amidst the dull roar of flames and quiet groaning of other nearby folks. One poor was up to his waist in water and looked to be gnawing off his own left arm whilst the woman beside him slowly pulled her entrails from her own abdomen without even so much as flinching. One twelve or thirteen year little pale skinned girl further southwest sported a meat cleaver in each and and the sort of slasher smile that could make even a hardened vet's blood run cold.
  29. Riley Keller would listen in silence to their comments, before she'd murmur, "Ja." Germanic tinting her voice. The white haired woman would look up though as the tang of blood hit her nose. She would still however as they came upon the market, eyes widening. For a few moments she would still at the entrance, and then take the dart from Xanthic, she'd state, "Ladies. Gentlemen. Welcome to Hell. Shall we get to work?" She'd wiggle the dart in emphasis, however a cold stare had lit into her face as the crypt keeper would roll her shoulders and step into the square. A slight tremor in the hand. "Remember, capture." She'd emphasize, though as she looked the woman to the side, it appeared they would have limited choices.
  30. Gibbit's nostrils flared at the smell of blood and burning flesh, a grunt escaping him "Then we must move quickly, get those in immediate danger down and restrained.." his eyes were briefly on the girls with the meat cleaver, but he was confident Al had hsi back and instead turned his efforts toward the mad man dancing in the flames and would lift a foot and slam it down onto the earth. Two thick stone tiles would rise up abruptly and float off with his direction in the hopes of clamping against the dancers torso and dragging him from the flames and toward the water rather roughly.
  31. Evren: Well. No time to process information from the specs - no magical vision was required to see what hell had visited THIS spot! Ev'd take a dart from Xan ("I'd ask you WHAT you'd discovered down here but that'd have to wait...") The slight hiss of scales sweeping up her arms and claws clicking against the blackened metal of the staff as she drew it and grasped it in a defensive stance in two clawed hands (dart yet held carefully between fingers) was drowned out by their surroundings. "Doubt Ania can put that back," she noted, regarding the woman with the increasingly cavernous cavity. The words would've been sassy on paper, but the tone was far too concerned to imbue them with any real bite. With Riley she'd step into the square, guardian at her back, and move towards the fellow in the water, first...

  33. Riley Keller - 11/19/2017
  34. Alhsom took one of the darts when they were offered, and a second if he was so able, then moved to step forward as the scene presented itself to them. A quick assessment of the individuals around them would highlight those who posed the most pressing risks. With Gibbit taking care of the one who was on fire, he spared his attention towards the girl in the distance and began to calculate her travel time. Another look through his peripheral vision would highlight the woman with her guts in her hand and the man who was gnawing on his arm. "Don't let your guard down because they may seem docile. Those who damage themselves are just as likely to come after us." His shield guardian would be instructed to wait alongside himself as he began the preperation of a spell, he wasn't exactly ready to use it, but he wanted to be ready if he needed it.
  35. Xanthic took in the sights around him. Oh yeah. This was going to be fun. "Does it matter how intact? It looks like unmaimed subjects are going to be a difficult matter to obtain." Gazing down the waterway to the obviously dangerous child he'd tilt his head to the side, remaining mindful of the rest of them he'd do his best to observe if she'd managed to detect them yet. Hm. Small. Easier to carry. Looked mostly in-tact, yes, this one would be a problem. Clearing his throat quietly he'd move closer to Riley, "small one. Mostly in-tact. Easy to carry. But we'd probably draw the attention of the rest if I give it a shot. Darts are silent, but water is not." Looking to her he'd await permission or denial. Welp. After Gibbit had made his move regardless of what Riley had said weapons were transferred briefly to right hand, left hand fetching a fan of darts and with practised effort, he'd whip them toward the girl. While most were likely wasted he'd hope at least one would hit.
  36. The fellow dancing in the flames was swept aside to the water with little difficulty, though the contact and sudden movement caused a bunch of his burned up skin to come sluffing off. Scorched flecks of it fell to the ground like snow along whatever path Gibbit chose while sending him to the water. His laughter would become screams on contact, blood quickly flowing out into the water from a combination of exposed muscle and heat-damaged tissue being suddenly cooled by the chilly undercity water. Xanthic's target--the little girl with the cleavers--casually slapped the dart aside with the one in her left hand. She loosed an awful, high pitched screech and began charging right at the group. Her every step added greater acceleration; the adrenaline flowed, and her normal physical limitations were clearly not in effect.
  37. Riley|Keller: There would have been no disagreement from the scarred woman as Gibbit made his move, the woman agreeing. "The ones we can, yes." Evren's comment of the woman not being able to be put back... she'd wince, "...No. I doubt such as well." She'd agree, though her voice finally did give a minor hint of emotion, pity. The man however was a different story. "Master Evren, he may be the better bet... if we an keep him from reaching the bone and bleeding out." She'd look up though as Xanthic would begin to move, and wince as the screech hit the air. Her voice would then call out over the laughter as the teen began her way forward, eyes narrowed onto her and paling, the guardian would step out between herself and the oncoming target, "Someone get her pinned and restrained!" Her own guardian ready to do so if necessary.
  38. Riley|Keller: if we can*
  39. Gibbit had pulled the poor guy out of the water as soon as he realized what was happening and swore harshly under his breath. He was about to do something to ease his suffering but the sounds from the weapon wielding teen and Riley of course had him immediately turned toward them and grabbing at his amulet. The construct connected to his command immediately burst to life and jerked its elbows backward at its sides, shooting forth the pre-prepared, weighted vine net toward the child with some oomph, spending its spell already. Gibbits mind was heavily on the suffering man, but priority levels remained high for his comrades.
  40. Evren: "Worry about their heads, I'd expect, magus Xanthic!" Then to Riley, she only nodded in acknowledgement, only a bit leery of giving the agreement voice. So Ev, staff before her still, head towards the rather insistently chewing man, cooing reassuring-sounding nothings that likely fell on deaf ears (and there were far more encouraging sights than a scaley pseudo-human with a seven-foot staff) - briefly interrupted when fellow gnawing at his arm was soon joined by another rather suddenly, and then again more urgently as the child charged. She whirled into a defensive stance that would have likely made any Magi blush for how freewheeling it treated this likely-priceless staff - shoulder towards the girl, crouched, body behind the pole one hand up highby the butt of the staff, other half down the grip, legs wide and braced, pommel down. The dart was yet grasped between fingers, not useful yet...
  41. Alhsom was going to have to have a word with this group about how to handle matters like this in the future... The tigon would shift his darts into his right hand alongside the magic he had been gathering for his spell, a quick motion forward of his hand would send them flying along with unleashing it. A rather strong burst of wind would occur from the motion, sending the darts careening towards their target with magic to aim and guide them... And of course, with enough force of wind to see the child taken off her feet and thrown backwards. Of course, this was probably equally unpleasant for those nearby to him when he completed the spell. "Defensive measures, circle up, watch our backs. She let out a yell, we may have others on the way... and we may have to retreat."
  42. Xanthic would have to play more dangerously with his chosen prey. Lowering himself to a kneel, slipping a mace to each hand again he'd watch her closely, waiting. But all at once, Gibbit had shifted targets, and Evren was preparing to handle her too. To Evren, "I'll assume between you and Gibbit you've got this handled?" He asked instead turning his attention toward the rest of them, "say, how expendable are these constructs?" He adds quickly, moving the two maces together by their pommels clicking them together and giving a sharp twist. Two maces, now a double-headed staff weapon. Single hand free at this juncture he'd again pull another quill from his bracer, one of his last two. Again, with a practiced effort he'd take a moment to ensure prey was lined up, it wasn't his chosen prey, but this would do. With a snap of the wrist, the dart was sent toward the man eating of himself. Nodding toward Alhsom he'd regretfully take up said formation without arguing. "I can get us out."
  43. Riley Keller - 11/19/2017
  44. The net struck the child, or at least it appeared to at first. It had in actuality come into contact with something around her - something which expanded on contact, unmaking the net in its entirety and spreading across the entire area as a sort of shockwave that was rather likely to knock those gathered back a couple feet, if not land them flat on their asses. Projectiles were cast away, magic was undone, and nearby pillars cracked visibly. This would most likely result in the immediate shutdown of all golems in the immediate vicinity as well as the loss or weakening of any magical protections those assembled had upon themselves, be they cast conventionally or maintained by items. The little girl stopped in her tracks for a moment, but they had completely failed to strike her with those darts. Moreover, screams not unlike her own could be heard echoing from much deeper in the undercity; the ruins far down the way came alive with a cacophony of outraged cries and (c)
  45. -- hysterical laughter. The unfortunate souls already present would not, however, lash out. They remained planted in place, happily harming themselves in increasingly severe fashion. The woman whose affliction lead to disemboweling of the self reached the end of her intestines and instead took hold of her own stomach - she would pull it out as well in due time, though the act would result in her immediate fall to unconsciousness and eventual drowning. The man that had been chewing himself began tearing into the wrist. Suffice it to say this resulted in a rather impressive spray of blood as the initial tear was made. Restriction of vascular tissues slowed it thereafter, but he would surely die as well if not given treatment in relatively short order.
  46. The blast made the crypt keeper take shelter behind the golem in front of her, hiding within the blast and yet to form up as requested. Her eyes narrowing to slits as cogs were turning fast. Calculations, diversions, and people, so many people. She'd look to the stairs. "Xanthic, Gibbit!" She'd bark out, her hand would flick to the man who had just torn into his arm, "Get the two and take the stairs!" She'd jab to the undercity market exit, "and get them to the surface! Get them healed and contained." This was not going to be a fight for heroes, "Complete the Mission We Came Here For." She'd then look to Alhsom and Evren, "Get them out and then we go too!"
  47. Gibbit had to dart aside as his construct stumbled backward and collapsed. He didn't need to be told twice , however, after hearing the chorus echoing through the halls "You get bitey, i'll get burny" he said quickly and made for the poor burn victim, ripping off his cloak as fast as he could to drape it over the victim and then use it to pick it up. The sight of the woman pulling out her own intestines caused him to shudder and turn away as he stood, hurrying for the stairs with the burn victim cradled against his torso and one last look to Riley and Alhsom "Hurry!" he called back before disappearing.
  48. Evren: The psychic-terrorist was also capable of nullifying magic. Well. Noted, certainly (quietly grateful she'd only yet used the staff mundanely); Evren's ears strained after the echoing sounds as she picked herself back up, though she snapped quickly back to the present with a somewhat awkward realization that here she was yet cooing to a (now-placated-save-for-the-bleeding) Chompy. She removed her amulet, yet facing him, even as she took one hesitant step back towards Al, even as her own artificial companion slumped over uselessly. Pulled the amulet from the necklace with preternaturally-sharpened teeth, and with the excess...started frantically tying that dart to the end of her pole, rather crudely fixing it with gobs of oddly colorful spit. Tightly wound, tied and twisted it around the pommel, enveloping the dart, lining up the ends of both dart and pole (save for the slight overlap of tip for delivery), jimmying something haphazard, yet hopefully secure enough to ensure that whoever met the end of the staff could potentially get a poke (if it didn't crush the little thing entirely. Mad gamble, should it become necessary!)...but also, failing that, a whole lot of pole, too. And she wasn't holding onto the darn thing anymore. Plenty of time to shift stances to something a bit more mobile and offensive as she moved to close any gap between Riley and Alhsom.
  49. Alhsom had been expecting his magic to do a lot better than it had... and found himself rather frustrated when the entire thing was simply blown away by whatever the child had done. That certainly sucked. The tigon's next trick was to reach out to the water around them and to try and secure a barrier to protect them... He went about trying to pour forth his magic and found that it did... absolutely nothing. Also, fuck. "Right... Magic is out. Time to do this the old fashioned way." The tigon's left hand would snatch hold of his blade and draw it forth from its scabbard and he'd move into position to cover their exit, "Understood, Riley. Them, then you two, then me." His focus would shift towards the impending convergence of laughter and then he'd look back to the girl, the immediate threat, and prepare himself in case she attacked.
  50.
  51. Xanthic frowned. "Please, allow me a moment. All of us going up there will likely bring them too." He countered shaking his head, "I've been down here before, I know where to go." Wings flexed and he was clearly trying to keep himself collected, "I'll do what you want, but I worry. Run up there, and I'll take out the staircase behind you and escape. It's cool and dark up there. We're currently prey. I'll be fine." Small chuckle as he approached the seemingly oblivious one. While still away from it he'd palm his last dart sliding tip between knuckles. Punching bitey in the side of the neck he'd hold the dart in there waiting for bitey to go nappy. If this didn't happen, he'd instead perform a beautiful pirouette using the momentum to smash his bracer into the side of bitey's head. If both failed, well damn. Regardless if they succeeded he'd slump the body over his back twisting limbs around to his front and pulling tightly to restrain in case bitey woke early, wings lowered safely away from mouth and he'd offer the body to anyone to get rid of it. "Hell, leave me with Alhsom. We'll get out of here. No problems."
  52. Naunethi watched and watched. The feline had sat beyond the din, unfazed by the absolutely horrific chaos all around. She watched the woman disembowel herself and fall, watched Gibbit wrap and carry the burned man, watched Evren augment her staff with the dart, watched Alhsom arm himself, watched Riley impart orders, watched Xanthic refute them and attempt to incapacitate the self-mutilating man. Her tail curled and fell flat repeatedly, golden gaze fixated upon the white-winged mage.
  53. Bitey and Burny put up little in the way of resistance. Both were far too absorbed in their acts of self-harm to do anything else. ... Well, Bitey was; Burny could barely move, let alone indulge in further injury of self. He simply continued to scream in agony as he was handled whatever way. His passivity along with that of Bitey could perhaps be considered unnerving - their devotion to the chaos, it would seem, having no discernible limit. The little girl with the cleavers resumed moving towards Xanthic and Alhsom at something of a snail's pace now, her steps becoming more methodical than rightly sensical for someone in the throes of insanity ought to have. The distribution of weight shifted from one to the other near-flawlessly, the cleavers held at waist level with their flats facing the ground and heads barely in contact. Her knuckles were towards her prey, obviously. Curious, perhaps, that a small child would know exactly which stance and approach best suited her situation.
  54. And yes, Bitey would go to sleep easily. No resistance.
  55. Riley whirled and shoved the celestial out of the way of the cleaver girl, squaring her to Al alone as Xanthic would be shoved towards the stairs, snapping, "No. You Go. Now! I Have Two Dragons at My Back, I do not need you Here, I need a Healer Up There who can DOUBLE Our Captured Infected's Chances of survival and Widen Our Chances of STOPPING this Madness. Gibbit's has the least chance of survival without immediate intervention from you with that much burning and yours is close to being no BETTER as he BLEEDS OUT." Her kukri would ready, "Now Follow Orders, Cease Endangering Lives, and get your Ass MOVING. Or I will see to it you will NEVER Be apart of an assignment like this EVER AGAIN." Threat laid, she would move to hold Evren and Alhsom's formation, the slowing of the child noted. There was no time to pay attention to Xanthic, but she hoped he got the hint and moved it. Otherwise they'd likely lose BOTH of those they'd just worked to capture.
  56. Riley Keller - 11/19/2017
  57. -------------
  58. Gibbit had laid out the victim up on the surface-side of the city, waiting for a healer to follow "Shh hey, it's ok, we're going to do what we can." he said softly to the guy and did a better job of wrapping him than he'd had time to do down below, getting his cape as best around him like a cocoon as he could.
  59. ---------------
  60. Evren: "It's why we /stagger/ it, forgive us for worrying more about /subjects/ than your grace under fire!" She pointed with her eyes in no small eyeroll indicating the oncoming girl - but then fell into (rather appreciative, admittedly!) silence as Riley deigned to tear rather tidily into the mage - hopefully that did the trick for any more backtalk! SAVE THE SPECIMEN. Formation closed and held, Ev figured it safe enough to venture a quick look around, in the event the whatever-it-was felt like entertaining any more nasty surprises off to the side (gutted woman notwithstanding), in addition to the whatever-it-was steering the girl. Eyes fixed on the girl once again as she curled into defensive stance - were burney and bitey secured, she may have been faced with the rather distasteful possibility of cracking a polearm into a girl's skull. She would move as the others moved; she watched carefully.
  61. Alhsom watched the girl as they closed into formation, deciding that Riley was best suited for handling Xanthic at the moment and so the tigon kept himself ready. His blade was switched from his left hand to his right, knowing he'd need it more there as his fingers flexed in their grip briefly. "We don't have much time, things are going to get ugly very quickly so follow orders and keep things moving expediently." With the girl readying for an attack, he began weighing the options and, once again, trying to gather magic just to test and see if he could.
  62.
  63. Xanthic rolled his eyes and shrugged his shoulders, lifting his mask he'd stare directly and knowingly at the girl. Lips were hidden away enough to allow him to mouth a message. 'I know you're in there. Best run along and find a new host, or I know just who to hunt and the woman won't always be around to protect you.' That said, mask was lowered and he'd take a final look at the girl before following orders. Ignoring the rest he'd nod toward Alhsom. Then he would move up the stairs and beyond using wings to ascend the stairs that much faster, the moment he was free of the magical ward he began treating the injured patient. Hand was easily enough to mend, but he stared blankly at the other.
  64. Bitey was sadly too far gone already. Between his own self-inflicted injuries and being stabbed in the fucking neck with darts, his heart simply could take no more; the organ, overtaxed beyond measure and badly deprived of oxygenated blood, beat its last. Its final pulsation was one of desperation - blood spurted not only from Bitey's many visible wounds, but also from the neck. The little girl continued to approach them slowly, all whilst staring at them in horrifyingly cold glee. The smile upon her lips was so broad that one may liken her to the cheshire cat of story. She did not, however, choose to press the attack. She instead collapsed, falling sideways into the waterway and convulsing violently. The current would no doubt carry her elsewhere.
  65.
  66. Riley Keller would still, eyes narrowed as she saw the bit of death coming towards the Bitten man- but there was no time to cry over lost specimens, yet. She'd watch the girl fall over, before she'd look where she heard the screaming. "...If we're not here." She'd grunt, "There is nothing to follow." They could close the entrance from above.
  67. ------------
  68. Gibbit looked up sharply as Xanthic appeared at last "There you are- please help him or he's lost. I will lend you my magic if you need it" he told the man, motioning toward the cocooned burn victim.
  69. -----------
  70. Evren: The oncoming girl seemed rather dead-set on a bizarre and grisly climax until she...toppled over; Evren didn't relax so much as let fly a little wordless yelp of surprise despite outward tension - wasn't expecting that! - and took step forward...before stopping herself with sidelong glances at the other two."Right. Brace, perhaps. It used her up." A bob of her head, eyes round and pupils saucers, in the direction of the girl. "Could regroup." She didn't know it, of course - but the whatever-it-was had already proven it was perfetly capable of laying bizarre traps!
  71. Alhsom was staring dead ahead at this child until she collapsed. "No regrouping. Get your asses up the stairs. After we're all up, I'm sealing this stairway up." He'd move backwards, but kept his weapon at the ready for the time being, "You and Riley first, then me. I'll be right behind you. Go." His ears would swivel, shifting about to keep a bead on the other echoing laughs to se eif they were getting closer.
  72. Riley Keller would quickly grunt and nod, "Right o' Master of Research. That's our queue." She'd grunt. Then quickly head up the stairs, sheathing kukri along the way. Soon reaching the top to look upon Gibbit and Xanthic.
  73. Riley Keller - 11/19/2017
  74. Naunethi's stare stayed upon the child now. They lidded while they watched her tiny body being swept up the waterways, but per her theme, the creature did not intervene. She was an observer, nothing more. However, even she was not inclined to remain down below with the cackles and wails. The cat finally stood and darted after the group, weaving underfoot and bursting up into the street below in the proper fashion of a startled animal. She would then resume her observational sitting and staring across the street, now watching while Xanthic and Gibbit tended to the burned man.
  75. Evren: She didn't drop the scales or claws, but the stance was finally dropped, staff passed to one hand so she can /vamoose!/ And after one last strange look behind her that lingered only a little, Ev darted up the stairs behind Riley (managing to avoid tripping over a scuttling cat in the process!) It was only up above that she afforded to relax somewhat, staff now planted so she could lean a little on it to look after Gibbit and Xanthic and their work (the pokey pommel now pointing upward - and hopefully out of peoples' way...unless they were over seven feet and bearing down on her, of course.)
  76. Alhsom was the last man up and so he walked up the stairs backwards, keeping an eye out for any of the following echoing madness... Once he was up, however, the tigon would raise his hand and move it towards the stairs they'd exited from... And then he'd seal the damn thing with a wall of ice that covered it all and left the group completely isolated from the madness bellow.
  77. Xanthic sighed and closed his eyes. Teeth were clenched. Great. Husk was tossed aside. Looking at Gibbit and then his patient he'd shrug, hands glowed for a scant moment light fluttering over him removing the filth he'd acquired while being down there. "Well." He said moving to stand looking at the other one again, shaking his head. "This one was easier to fix, and it died from being tranqued. The shock of healing the other will likely kill it too." His weapon was taken apart again and attached to belt. "Councilman Gibbit, while I would love to follow your orders, I've already been taxed by whatever that little girl did. It would harm me greatly, and I'm already getting hungry. Your mother would never forgive me taking what I need from you, and neither would you. So you're proposing that I hurt myself, or piss off your mother? Or perhaps I take it all upon myself? I mean, I can deal with crippling self-injury." Male was evidently super peeved at the moment. "You know if you'd come for just one lesson you wouldn't even need my help here?" Mask was lifted up and off, mercurial depths staring through Gibbit. Armour flashed before being replaced with his clothing, glasses retrieved and placed on his face, blue eyes now staring through him. Attention shifted as the rest came up the stairs, "the lightly wounded one didn't make it. You'll need another healer for this one, severe trauma." Words spoke to Alhsom, gaze breaking from Gibbit finally to look directly toward Alhsom as he added. "I'm taxed."
  78. Gibbit's eyes flashed wide at Xanthic at his denial of help, staring at the man as he directed his attitude toward him. "I'm not...proposing-" he grit his teeth as his mother was brought into it. He took a deep breath and stood up "Alhsom, please do what you can to help this victim before we move them to Sairon for containment. I will call my mother in to tend to him once he is contained and i'd like to do that fast so that we do not lose the lead we have" he said rather cooly and then stepped over the body toward Xanthic. The next thing the mage would feel is the rough shove of the troll's hand against his chest, followed by another as the furious Troll moved toward him aggressively "Why don't you fucking grow up!? This isn't about your fucking authority ladder issues, we're ON A JOB! FOCUS or get out of here!" and then he'd try to shove the man back one last time, away from him, breathing quite heavily. His irises were brightly illuminated with rage, nostrils flaring.
  79. Riley Keller would look up and between the two, before grimacing as the body of the man was just... tossed. Her gaze darkened- but it was Gibbit's snarl that made her move quickly, "Al- patient. Please." She'd reassert as she'd move between the two, Gibbit in turn, would find himself likely getting a bear hug from the tiny woman around his stomach and chest if able. Not her wisest move, but she had more to fear from below ground than here, she felt, "Gibbit- Gibbit- Master of Magic. Please. Please calm down." She'd hiss, "We can't be fighting now. Later. Business first." Though a glance would be given to Evren for assistance, in what ever way might be possible.
  80. Evren: Whatever relative quiet that permeated the streets was broken by the deliberate and too-metallic thwack-! of the butt of the staff against cobbles, uncomfortably near Xanthic. She'd clearly heard enough - if the carriage of the two men didn't already give enough of it away. And the Magus and Councilman slid down it to look the rogue mage directly in the eye; draconic pupils were warning slits. "You will cease, immediately." It was a growl, too-measured "Whatever you hope you will accomplish by this ego parade and this...nonsensical baiting instead of doing what we brought you to do... You waste energy better suited assisting. Put up or get out." But she didn't waste a second longer on that; someone far more important to care about - she whirled around to bound in a couple steps to the troll-human combo. Riley had the chest; Ev ventured a firm squeeze on his arm with her free hand, tone of her voice shifting immediately. "GIB! Gibgibgibbitmastergibc'mon, hereherehere. She's right, she's right, he's not worth the time. You've done well, we're almost done, gotta follow through, yeah?"
  81. Alhsom would move up without delay, idly going about the task of casually removing his gauntlets as he walked. He'd drop the metal and leather objects as he moved forward and towards the focus of his attention. Without wasting time on debat, the tigon began channeling holy energy, a white hot glow encompassing his hands as he looked over to Gibbit, "I can save him... But this is triage. Your mother's skill is going to be necessary. Please, make sure she is there waiting for his arrival." Then he'd go about laying his hands directly upon their burn victim as he began to expend his holy energy in a taxing, quick and ultimately unwise approach to healing... This is gonna take a while, Imma skip the nitty gritty details of fixing a crispy critter's fucked up body.
  82. Xanthic's right shoulder was pushed back off-setting his balance enough that wings would have to intervein. "Fuck you then. You want this? Fine." Left hand darted out quickly to catch the arm he attempted to use to shove him again, head tilting to the side he whispered softly. "This is going to hurt." Was all he said before energy lanced through the connection and into Gibbit, energy bloomed throughout him before a sudden ripping feeling would be felt. All at once the connection was reversed and Xan began to syphon from Gibbit in a rapid cascade.
  83. This would continue until Gibbit finally hit the ground. Taking on a white glow he stepped over the body with as much indifference as he had tossed away the lifeless husk before. Moving over the burned man he'd sigh, "Master Alhsom, please allow me on Gibbits behalf" To the body, "seems Gibbit found a way to heal you anyway." He said laying both hands onto the crippled form and beginning to channel energy into the burned man, rapidly healing injuries away one after another. Flesh began to reform on the injured body, filling out and plumping up as male was returned to normal state. His own aura began to rapidly vanish as he did so, eyes closing as pale white vitae began to leak from his nose in relatively quick fashon. He'd have stopped but he did make a deal. And so pushing on, male was finished off. Male would stand and glare to the others, "he said he'd give of himself to help this patient. I didn't want to upset his mother in doing so. After he got grabby I lost my inhibition." Watching the others closely he prepared for verbal assault or worse off literal assault. Wings pulled in against his back and body was lowered slightly, "he'll be fine enough in the morning." Back of his sleeve used to brush off leaking blood. "Your precious subject is stable and will be a problem to deal with soon. You should expedite the relocation of them before they do. Me? I've a leakage to take care Xanthic of. Internal injuries and all." Shaking his head, and spitting toward the ground he'd frown. "You know, I love how you talk about me." A quick addition, "you aside Master of Law." Polite nod of his head. [RETCONNED: Xanthic walks away, Gibbit was never drained](edited)
  84. Naunethi: The feline finally opted to intervene. Interaction was beyond her norm. She preferred to watch, observe, absorb, and record. But as soon as the shoves began, the cat rose. A gentle golden glow fell upon the scene as a gilded haze consumed the cat. From the midst of the arcane cloud came a firm female voice. "You are embarrassments." A figure stepped from the cloud, her form yet to be seen a single time upon the isle: Naunethi in (URL: https://i.imgur.com/uoRgzgN.jpg) humanoid pose. Her feet were bare, odd armored (URL: https://i.imgur.com/Yz1Qsp4.jpg) dress permitting her wings to spread from behind her back, flaring up and out like a predatory entity attempting to make itself seem larger. This was hardly necessary with the way her orange eyes burned, coupling with the scolding, scalding disdainful twist of her ebony lips. Even the lionesque mane around her head seemed thicker in her ire. Either hand curled loosely by her hips while she watched Evren and Riley detain and dissuade Gibbit. That glowing glower moved between the now unconscious troll and winged mage. It smoldered mercilessly upon the latter, voice hard and flat yet dripping derision. "You have come to aid the Gendarmes as representatives of Sairon, yet you squabble with the masters of this city and even with your fellow magi. You lack all composure, camaraderie, and restraint." Naunethi wrinkled the bridge of her nose and tilted back her head, gaze hooded. "The Archmage will hear of both your behaviors this night." <(edited)

  88. Gibbit frowned as Xanthic walked away and then turned his head to look at Evren and Riley, nodding slowly and taking deep breaths. He turned and touched their shoulders, looking over at Naunethi "Then tell her, Naunethi. I've been bending over backwards to be his comrade and I finally lost my patience. Perhaps it was wrong, but it happened." he waved a hand in frustration before resting it back around the two women at his side before leaving them to badge a message to his mother. He moved to very gently move the man, picking burny up in his arms like a bride "I ask that you do not jump to conclusions about me Naunethi, there is more to it than you see." he regarded her with a small frown. Of course, he didn't want the Sphinx to consider him an embarassment, because he respected her, but it was what it was. With that he was off toward Sairon unless stopped, frowning and tired.
  89.
  90. Riley Keller would let out a low breath and slowly untangle from the Master of Magic once he calmed down. She'd relax and then look to Al healing up the poor bastard they'd managed to save whilst she'd look up and about. A flash of light occurred close by, and a magpie shot out to land on her shoulders. Handing a small silver coin to it, the creature would take off. It would take some time, but it would not be long before Dallas would be arriving with the cart and coffin for the dead body. It was better to get it out of the streets now... At Naunethi's appearance, she got a good look now that she had the moment to her and give a small nod of greeting, swaying lightly as she'd look to Alhsom and Evren. For the moment, the woman only took a few moments to breathe as she'd hunch over and then let out a series of soft coughs to begin gathering up her thoughts.(edited)
  91. Evren dipped her head in a bow of greeting and a slow-blink as Naun appeared; didn't even bother dignifying Xanthic's exit with anything more. "I'll catch up," she said finally to Gibbit, before setting to work, tying and wrapping a looping harness around the staff as she watched Al work, then slinging it over her shoulder once more. Hands free, she finally sighed, dragging both across her face before intertwining them at her lips. "Right..." she finally managed after a bit. "Bit more of a regroup than I was expecting." Understatement of the century - delivered with a breeziness that didn't really manage to hide that very, very concerned note in her voice, at all.
  92. Naunethi folded her hands over either hip. Wrath warped her painted features as she watched Xanthic storm off, spitting, "Petulant boy." She did not look too terribly old, especially not compared to the winged entity, but the sphinx bore a weighty aura to those capable of sensing them. The tip of her tail- a lion's tuft hardly hiding a wicked scorpion barb- curled and flicked irritably by her heels. Her stare snapped towards Gibbit, fiery fury turning suddenly cold. "It was wrong, and it should not have happened," the sphinx declared pitilessly. "Not from one pursuing a position on the Council of Sairon. You've growing to do, Magus. Both of you do." She watched him leave next, leaving Evren as the last Sairon entity to stare upon. Naunethi did not return her nod, nor Riley's, but watched with the simmering aftermath of ire. She represented Riressil, but they represented the entire school. A grounding inhale was drawn deeply, chest swelling and threat smoothing from her face.
  93. Alhsom's flattery was not lost on the overly proud entity. Her lidded look darted towards him, wings tucking yet feathers fluffing slightly, calmed ever so slightly by the compliment. But she looked back to Evren, regathering composure as she added: "I do not understand why you do not also seek Council status in our school." The sphinx did not await an answer. She would not endeavor to aid Alhsom, as the wellness of city councilors was not her jurisdiction, but the ties between the college and capitol weren't lost on her entirely. "Know that the actions of those our school sent you will not go unaddressed." This was imparted to Riley and Alhsom both, though with a following look towards Evren, knowing her to straddle both sides of that line as Gibbit did. <(edited)
  94. Riley Keller would listen in silence to the chastising from the... She'd look to the scorpion tail, trying to place and finding only two species, but Alhsom's words draw her attention. Grasping up his gauntlet's, she'd hand them to him and then move to begin to lift him up with a groan, pausing only as Naunethi did address them at this time. A slow nod followed to her, "...Thank you." She'd state simply, and firmly, not refuting the bit and then murmuring to Evren, "We learned much today." She'd grunt, "including how much we've yet to do, with what is below." She'd shake her head, "But I think rest..." She'd nod to her brother now.
  95. A wing flicked out (the enchantment upon her clothes that facilitated it blessedly working aboveground) to curl in a very loose shape the other two councilors; it was almost unconsciously reflexive, a move more protective than truly practical. After a beat, it folded again to rest with the other at-ease at her back, though Ev seemed a bit too distracted to notice. "She's a friend." In the broadest of senses and broadest of explanation; despite hanging around the tower, Evren yet knew /of/ Naunethi far more than she actually /knew/ her. Then added with the smallest of roguish smiles to Naun. "Perhaps eventually." She nodded to Riley, echoing only with a "Indeed, yes; much to write, look over again..." that was a bit absent even then. Another brush over her face, before she shook her head briskly, catlike, as if to clear it. "Still have to swing by Sairon before I finish something at home." A look at Naun. "But...rest, yes. Rest. We'll come at this with clearer heads after."
  96. Riley Keller - 11/19/2017
  97. Alhsom was forced up and, with some help, would manage to finally get up and onto his feet. "Please do send our regards to the Archmagus. I do consider her a friend and her help has been appreciated in several incidents thus far." He flashed a smile and then looked towards Evren, then to where Gibbit and Xanthic had departed to... "While they may have not acted as best they should, they were all helpful tonight... And lessons have been learned for any future efforts. I hope to hear more from Sairon's study of this in the coming days." Then, having realized his earlier compliments were at least a good gesture, would issue another, "Perhaps when we next meet to discuss these things, one so radiant as yourself could grace the gathering with your presence. It may help keep any outliers from worse behavior." He'd then offer a little grin and return to leaning on Riley for when they headed off!(edited)
  98. Naunethi: "Friend" was not a term typically applied to the reclusive sphinx. She did not speak all too often with those in Sairon beyond the Archmage, save for entertaining the occasional cryptic chat, conversations laced with loose ends and questionable warmth. But the term did not appear to perturb her, for she further reclaimed neutrality as she paused to regard Evren in a pensive fashion. Her lips pursed to talk of clearer heads. If anyone asked, the sphinx would declare that her head was always clear, even if it did not seem so with the derision she had shown moments before. Yet she relented all the same, inclining her skull slightly at the mention of Sairon. She did not intend to walk alongside the magus. Already the gilded haze had started to swirl back about her form, indicating another shift was inbound. Alhsom's generous observation of aid did not elicit a response, but his tactical compliment had her chin lofting and professional tone taking on a subtly slyer lilt. >
  99. Naunethi: "If the Archmage desires it," Naunethi mused melodiously, "I will be there." The cloud consumed her, and as it dissipated, the plain Peterbald could be seen slinking down the alleyway. <
  100. Riley Keller would grunt, watching long enough to stare at the cat the sphinx would become, tucking it away. For a few moments she would consider the events, and then look to Evren, "...Yes. The more rest we have, the better. I suggest... trying to get a good nights' sleep." A grim frown would take her features, stretching the tired scars across her face, "...We'll be busy a while with this one, I fear." She'd then give a nod, "I will send a letter to Sairon tomorrow, I need to thank the Archmage for her support. Please let me know if you hear anything, yeah? I'll be up a while yet." She'd offer a soft, but somewhat tired grin, "...We at least completed the mission as it stood... but there is still so much left." She'd shake her head, and after Evren would respond, would probably begin to lead Alhsom off.
  101. Evren: Another nod, though attention was briefly captured by Naun's own shift - and subsequent disappearance. "I'll go check up, see if anything's changed. If there's something immediate, I've got Notker ready again for deliveries, I left him napping up in the classroom." Woe be the student who dared disturb her pocket-sphinx! "Speedy letter delivery, he's getting rather good at that, I'd think..." She lifted a hand in a parting half-wave. "Go sleep. Or...try, at least. Plenty more to go, indeed, and we shall see what the Archmage has to say, as well." Wings unfurled, then - Ev may not have had the energy to trudge through the streets as much as simply skip over them, from points A to B - and so, unless anyone had further words, the dragon too would soon depart for the tower.
  102. Alhsom decides to just give Evren a wave and a smile, then he'd shuffle off alongside Riley... Because he's tired and his player things this is a great place to scene break.
