Hello, my name is Tim and for today I have prepared a little presentation about the English capital London.
Today  I speak about some different topics:
First I will tell you  some general facts about London.
Then I will go on talking about a small part of the history from London.
After that I talk about the culture and about some of the famous sights.
And at the end I will talk abaut my own opinion and why I have choosen the topic.

I start with the facts. London is  the capital and the biggest city of England and Great Britain.London is wordfamous and was createt 43 after christus by the Romans. The city has a population of 8.63 million people, with this population London is the biggest city in west Europe, it also has an area of 1596 square kilometers. It is located in Great Britain or at the bottom of England and is on the river Themse. The city is very expensive and there are so much of people that are 20.000 taxis needed. Every year are more then 25 million tourists in London wich together are spending 10 billion euros in London. The colors of the flag are red blue and white. One of the fastest and popularest transportsystems is the London underground wich is also named Tube.
Now I tell you some events from the history.
In the year 43 after christus the romans foundet the city “Londinium”, but after big clashes the romans gave the city up. So for few years nearly nobody lived there. Initial 200 years later people come again to live their. In the middle of the 16th yearhundret the pest come to London and one year later the next big disaster was coming, a big fire burned down more than the half of London. Its was also known as “The Great Fire”. In the year 1863 the first subway was drove above London, it was the first subway in the world. And a few years later “Jack the Ripper” was spreading fear and terror with killing lots of people in London. 1948 the second Olympics was in London and 4 years later Elisabeth the second has been queen.
London culture is embossed of music, there are many concert houses and orchester wich play in there. A popular orchestor is the London symphony orchester or the bbc symphony orchester. Founded in London was also the famous rockband “The rolling stones” maybe you know them. For the rock and pop concerts are also venues, like the o2 arsenal arena , the earls court arena , the wembley arena or many other places for these concerts.

Every year to London come lots of tourists, also because of the many sights. I’ve got picked a few of the most famous sights, to tell more about these.
The first sight I want talk about is the “Big Ben”. The Big Ben is a big bell that hangs in the clocktower of the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. Lots of people think that the Big Ben is the clocktower, so in the society the Big Ben is often the Tower and not the Bell, but this is wrong. The clocktower has the name “Elizabeth-tower”. The Bell has a diameter of 8 meters, this is very huge.
A other popular sight is the Towerbridge of London. It across the Thamse, it has two big towers wich are 66 meters high. One on the right side, the other on the left side. If big ships want to cross, the bridge can be open in the middle. On the top of the bridge is a museum. The bridge was built from 1886 to 1894.
The London Eye is also very popular sight. With a height of 135 meters it is the biggest ferris wheel in europe. There you sit in a cabin of glass where fit in 30 people and can admire a big part of London in a other perspective. It stays in the center of London directly at the Themse.
The last sight I want talk about is the museum madame tusauds. Madame tussauds lived from 1761 to 1850. She learned to make wax figures. Now it is a big chain of museums in london and other cities. Displayed are real looking wax figures of famous people like athletes, artists, musicans or models.
Now to the end I want tell you my own opinion about the city London, and why I have choosen the topic.
This spring I was with my class in London, and before my visit I thinked that Freiburg is a huge city, but between Freiburg and London are felt worlds. In London are so much of people, if you driving in the rush hour with the Tube it is so thight in there. And there are so much of shops, every kind of clothing shops, tourist shops or snack stands and lots of other crazy shops. In my opinion it was a very cool experience, to see all the popular sights that of wich you have always only heard. All in all I can say that the visit of London is very interesting, and some things there you just have to see.
Choosen I have the topic because of the brilliant trip to London, for me it was the coolest city where I was until now. Especially because of the sights there: The London Eye, The Tower Bridge, the museum madame tussauds. To see that sights or to be in there had maked a lot of fun for me.
