  1. To begin with, we can divide modern medicine onto 2 parts, conventional and alternative ones. But what's the difference between them? Let's try to investigate on this problem.
  2.
  3. Nowadays traditional medicine is based on the fact that your body should be treated ( i.e to be crippled) with pills, tablets, drops and, of course, with surgical operations. What on Earth can be better than a surgeon digging into your insides? Don't forget he could leave a syringe or a bandage into you. And even so we cannot be sure that after a successful operation your body and health will be restored and everything will function properly. Btw, who said medicine treats you? For instance, we can name X-rays that are dangerous for people's health. Another example is anti-depressants that makes you addictive.
  4.
  5. Now let's move to alternative treatment. Unproven, usually ineffective, and sometimes dangerous medicines and treatments have been peddled throughout human history. Urinotherapy, for instance. It's so funny and cute, don't you think so? It's said urinotherapy helps if you have problems with joints but it's practised mainly by students. Hm, that's obvious as it's the cheapest medicine they can use. Or acupuncture. It seems to be useful but it's not clinically proved. Moreover, needles can be unsterilized which makes this kind of treatment more unsafe and risky.
  6.
  7. Anyway, let's look at this problem from another point of view. Every year surgical operations, microsurgery, transplantation, even usual medicines saves millions of lifes all over the world. Similarly, hipnose, massage and herbal medicine aren't worse than conventional treatment. So what's the difference?
  8.
  9. In fact, the answer is simple - it's belief. We shouldn't take pills thoughtlessly thinking "this pill will make me feel good and healthy" or "it'll restore my vision", but we should really hope and beleive daily exercises or dose will help us. Nevertheless, placebo effect plays a huge role in treatment, e.g vitamin C isn't proved to be useful against cold but we always drink tea with lemon and eat currants if we feel sick. That's why, IMO, it's needed to be firmly assured in the result and not to pay attention to a fact whether it's conventional treatment or not. Seriously.
