- Bending at the waist in a low, elegant bow, Avaris manages to execute the gesture
- with ease, despite the cup he holds in one hand, and the bowl he grasps in another. Rising with
- fluid grace, he moves towards the pool at a steady, unhurried pace, each step clack-clicking as
- first the hard sole of his chitinous foot makes contact with the floor, then swiftly followed by the
- points of his large talons tapping upon the pale surface in a quiet rhythm. Upon the edge of the
- pool, he lowers himself into a kneeling position, moving with a ritualistic dignity and poise as he
- holds up the cup, ensconced in the cradle of his long, armoured fingers. After a moment, he sets the
- cup carefully down upon the lip of the pool, the fine ceramic making a barely discernible chiming.
- He repeats the gesture with the bowl, lifting it aloft in a formal manner, before setting it down
- beside the cup. This done, he clasps all four of his hands together atop the glossy white plating of
- his torso, over his heart, and he lowers his head to pray.
- ((Item descriptions and taste of the tea!))
- Fresh mixed greens, predominantly spinach leaves, have been tossed with
- crisp diced apples, raisins, toasted hazelnuts, and lightly drenched in
- a raspberry vinaigrette. The soft leaves and raisins contrast
- wonderfully with the crunchy apples and nuts, the vinaigrette
- harmonizing the flavours together.
- With pearlescent wings regally flaring behind it to form the sides of
- the container, a gem-wrought pegasus has been cleverly sculpted into the
- base of this empyreal cup. The pegasus is depicted standing upon its two
- hind legs, thrusting its front hooves skyward in a victorious charge.
- While primarily fashioned from mother-of-pearl, the fine detailing of
- the pegasus's mane and tail is formed of a beautiful sea-cast sapphire,
- which billows behind the majestic creature like waves caught in the
- wind. The pegasus's tail of curling sapphire presents itself as a
- handle, allowing for ease of use. Radiant and stunning in its imagery,
- this resplendent piece of tableware is sure to bring a celestial touch
- to any occasion.
- As you sip the white tea, your thoughts become clearer.
- Casting a gentle radiance reminiscent of liquid starlight, this
- ambrosial tea invigorates the senses as you take a sip. Yet warm from
- its brewing, the flavours of apricot, orange blossom, and vanilla
- enlivens your being, with the faintest note of peach lingering in its
- aftertaste.
- Kneeling humbly, you press your palms together before you and close your eyes momentarily as you
- pray devoutly to Lantra, the Empyreal, "My Lady. I hope that You do not mind that I have brought You
- a modest repast - I know that You rarely eat, and so I will of course understand should You pass the
- meal on to some other. Still. I think that the tea and the salad may be more to Your liking than
- confectionery - The tea, in particular, reminded me very strongly of You. I apologise for the lack
- of properly suitable cup. This is the most fitting that I could locate. There is an odd lack of
- lotus inspired vessels. Ah, but I am rambling. [A pause, in which the sense of his presence grows
- quiescent, focused inward for a time, with the sense of distant, complicated feelings being
- inspected and sifted through.] I will become a Demigod soon. I do not know how to feel about that -
- Should I be elated? Proud? I do not know. I know that some undergo radical physical changes when
- they achieve the flaring of their divine spark, but that does not truly concern me. What gives me
- pause is the thought that there may be alterations on some level that will change who I am, as a
- person - That I will be fundamentally different from the Avaris of now, in ways that I will not be
- able to control. If that is the case, then I hope that it is a better version that emerges, and one
- more to Your liking. I pray that You are well, my Lady, and that Your burdens do not weigh so
- heavily upon You of late.".
- Coming smoothly, albeit slowly, to his feet, Avaris offers the luminous waters a
- deep, reverent bow, before he turns and strides through the veil once again.
