Pokémon FRLG+ Diploma FAQ:

Q: What game is this?
A: This a FRLG ROM hack called FireRed and Leafgreen+ (or FRLG+), and was created by Deokishisu. It pretty much applies a lot of the speedchoice options, plus a few others!

Q: How does it differ from vanilla?
A: A fair amount. You get the running shoes immediately, can run indoors, the bike has two speeds (think a mix between the classic FRLG bike and the Mach bike, but with no acceleration). There are a few neat options you can set including instant text and instant HP bars, and you can also set the difficulty between Easy, Normal and Challenge Mode where trainer levels (and in the case of Challenge Mode, gym leader parties) are adjusted. EXP yield can be changed as well - normal (1x), half (0.5x), no EXP, or double (2x EXP). In addition, the second round of the Elite Four does not require catching any specfic # of Pokes, you just need to do the Sevii sidequests.

You can also soft reset to switch between FR and LG, which makes getting the Diploma (150 original mons caught) solo possible!

Q: What Pokemon will you be using this run?
A: I'll be using Squirtle as my main, which is manipped. I will use a bunch of other mons as well to assist in spawning specific Pokemon, as well as Mr. Mime and Farfetch'd to set up the mail glitch.

Q: What stats are you looking for on your Squirtle?
A: Because you get so much more overlevelled, stats aren't as strict as vanilla but are still fairly restrictive. I'll only take Rash, Mild and Modest natures, with IV restrictions of 29+ in Special Attack, and 18+ in Speed. Defenses don't matter at all.

Q: What is the mail glitch and why do you use it?
A: This is a glitch which allows you to duplicate items and also do ACE. I won't be using ACE in the run since finding uses for it requires programming skills far beyond my abaility, but would make the run super boring.

The mail glitch involves tricking the game into thinking your entire party has Mail equipped, and when you try and equip a seventh piece, it duplicates an item. I'll be duping Rare Candies, Master Balls, Nuggets, and evolutionary stones in the run, which is far faster than EXP share training. Q: Any new changes recently to the route?
A: I now dupe less Candies for Blastoise (only go to L68 rather than L100) and also dupe 10 less candies for Eevee (use Pidgeot instead for repel trick on One Island). This saves a significant amount of time overall since each Candy dupe + usage is about 9.5 seconds. Fights are slower though.

A: 4:57:36 by me, using the old route

Q: Goal time?
A: Sub-4:50 would be incredible, but sub-4:55 would be good for now.
