THE MONSTER SHIT IS COMPLEX THO she gets this boyfriend in that time period and he's pretty ok for a bit and they trust each other and he actually gets her in on the Thing He Is Involved In (it's the Monster Thing) and she essentially joins the faction because she finds it Mad Alternative and Very Promising since it's such a new and bizarre concept. However over time her bf gets mad assholey and possessive and she's like Fuck Off and their relationship gets very rocky. One time when they were headed to a secret base location he confronted her and was like....thinking she's trying to steal his job position/exceed him and he gets mad and they start physically tussling and it escalated to them both fighting as monsters and he winds up trying to seriously hurt or even kill her so she? Kills him. I KNOW THAT ESCALATED FAST BUT LIKE?? He had some latent spontaneous violence issues and she had to Defend herself. She was obviously rattled by this, and was surprised that the syndicate actually Congratulated her for defeating him and they gave her his old position (which was....essentially a promotion) and they took care of his body I guess. After recovering from the shock, she wound up not very??? Sad over him??? Like he was shitty and controlling and said bad things about her and she couldn't handle it, and if she didn't do what she did she would've been the one dead.
