  1. [18:58:34] <Aori_Radidjiu> Don's washing his hands.
  2. [18:58:18] * Larissa is sitting against a wall or something like that.
  3. [18:58:44] * DJ is washing his hands.
  4. [19:01:21] * DJ is actually most likely trying to run cold water on his most-burned body parts: his forearms and face.
  5. [19:01:30] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Sure is washing his hands.
  6. [19:03:25] * DJ presumably figured out how to get cold water out of the faucet after accidentally hurting himself with quite the opposite.
  7. [19:05:17] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Upon turning around Don sees a glowy thingy.  Roll me aura sight.
  8. [19:05:42] <DJ> 1d100 glowstick raid
  9. [19:05:42] <DiceMaid-9001> DJ, glowstick raid: 71 [1d100=71]
  10. [19:05:47] <DJ> WOO
  11. [19:06:31] <~Aori_Radidjiu> A voice emanates from the glowy thing, "Are you trapped here?"
  12. [19:07:10] <~Aori_Radidjiu> it sounds like a teenage girl.
  13. [19:08:41] <Larissa> (do i hear this voice too?)
  14. [19:09:01] <~Aori_Radidjiu> How close are you to the break room?
  15. [19:09:06] <DJ> "Uh, yeah pretty much.  If you're not a...  Malevolent...  Glowing thing, do you mind if I go get my friend real quick?  She's in the hall."  DJ scratches his head while saying this.
  16. [19:09:16] * Larissa is probably sitting on the wall opposite but near the boiler room.
  17. [19:10:21] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Larissa hasn't heard it.  The glowy thing flickers, it's quite a bit like a flame, now that you think about it.  "Of course not, I've got time for everything."
  18. [19:11:30] * DJ heads toward the door, not yet letting it out of his sight. "Uh, hey Larissa? There's a... Talking fire in here, that wants to talk."
  19. [19:11:45] <~Aori_Radidjiu> It gives off a soft blue light, illuminating the room.
  20. [19:13:09] <Larissa> Ugh, of course there's a talking fire. Without remembering that the break room had a fucking corpse in it, she gets up with a groan, and makes her way over to DJ.
  21. [19:15:36] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (I considered having to make you roll a stress check but I think you're already hardened enough on Supernatural)
  22. [19:16:30] <Larissa> (you could argue i'd get another one for the corpse, if you wanted to be mean :v )
  23. [19:16:40] <Larissa> (and i only have five hardened notches for supernatural D: )
  24. [19:17:00] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (5 is more than enough, it was Don I was considering it on)
  25. [19:20:00] <Larissa> 1d100 so, time to Mage Sight the glowy thing
  26. [19:20:00] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, so, time to Mage Sight the glowy thing: 10 [1d100=10]
  27. [19:20:31] <Larissa> (in hindsight, mage sight should've been my obsession skill :v )
  28. [19:23:28] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You see a faint transparent girl of about your age, with a big glowy thing where her heart would be. Her whole body is a ghostly blue, making it hard to determine what color her eyes were or anything, although you'd say she has lighter hair?  Probably.  She's wearing a plain t-shirt and jeans, with her hair cut short.  She starts speaking.  "Hello, sorry if I scared you with my body
  29. [19:23:29] <~Aori_Radidjiu> earlier."  Looking back at the's hard to tell it's hers even when you know what she's supposed to look like.  Decomposition~
  30. [19:28:06] <DJ> DJ just kinda stares at the shiny talky thing, taking the probably wise course of letting Larissa handle the conversation.
  31. [19:29:04] <Larissa> (but you did say it was relatively fresh :v )
  32. [19:29:23] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (d'oh, you're right)
  33. [19:29:31] <DJ> (Relative compared to skeletons)
  34. [19:29:37] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (...^)
  35. [19:30:08] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (A mostly rotted corpse is still fresher than a skeleton.  But I apologize for contradicting myself a little ;_;)
  36. [19:30:13] <Larissa> (god damn it, do i have to make a corpse forensics check to determine how long ago, relatively, it died? D: )
  37. [19:30:26] <Larissa> 1d100 too bad i dont have that skill, but i DO have ALL THE MIND
  38. [19:30:26] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, too bad i dont have that skill, but i DO have ALL THE MIND: 93 [1d100=93]
  39. [19:30:38] <Larissa> (and i'm very bad at using it.)
  40. [19:31:01] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You're pretty sure it died sometime in the past.
  41. [19:31:07] <Larissa> (as opposed to the future?)
  42. [19:31:08] <Larissa> (good)
  43. [19:31:13] <Larissa> (we're not time fucked yet at least)
  44. [19:31:41] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "I...wanted to give you two a warning."
  45. [19:31:48] <DJ> (The whole take-away point of the corpse was that it was more recent than the reasonablelast time the 3rd floor was accessed, since Larissa never recollected it ever being open so long as she knew it.)
  46. [19:32:04] * Larissa is mostly speechless, because, well, what do you say to someone in this situation?
  47. [19:32:14] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (...thank you, that actually was the entire point of that!)
  48. [19:32:24] <Larissa> (i figured it was actually like, within a week or so)
  49. [19:32:53] <Larissa> (but it's ok because larissa failed her check anyway and has no fuckin clue :v )
  50. [19:33:16] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (Oh no, it was never meant to be "within the last week" fresh)
  51. [19:34:21] * DJ glances at Larissa's equivocal speechlessness and tries to come up with something. "I uh... I'm sorry you got killed in here."
  52. [19:36:54] <Kraken> (Quit hitting on ghosts)
  53. [19:37:13] <DJ> (I'll hit you until you're a ghost.)
  54. [19:37:18] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Oh, no, it's fine, I've gotten over that...although it's still painful.  If...if you die in this place, you'll constantly relive the pain of your death."  She grimaces.  "I'm as used to it as you can be, anyway.  But enough about me, the warning.  There's a spirit on this floor, like me, that haunts part of this floor.  If she gets a hold of you..."  She shudders.  "One of my friends ran
  55. [19:37:18] <~Aori_Radidjiu> into her, and the second she came in contact with her...she was gone.  Dead."
  56. [19:37:36] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "She was the first one of my group to die..."
  57. [19:38:27] <Larissa> "I didn't think this place had that kind of power... I was told it was still untainted... do you know how long it's been like this?"
  58. [19:38:50] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "It's...not this place specifically."
  59. [19:39:29] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "The place I died in looked very different from where we are right now, in fact.  It's what this place has been made to channel."
  60. [19:39:42] <Larissa> (we need music i think, and i remember finding this song last session )
  61. [19:40:17] <Larissa> "Looked different?"
  62. [19:41:04] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "I died in an old orphanage that we went in on a dare."
  63. [19:41:52] <DJ> "Wait..."
  64. [19:42:02] <Larissa> "Maybe that's why..." Larissa trails off. Maybe that's why she couldn't sense anything wrong. She was looking in all of the wrong places.
  65. [19:43:34] <DJ> "What is 'here', then, if it's not the orphanage you died in, and probably not the power plant either?"  DJ is quite obviously confused.
  66. [19:45:45] <Larissa> Not content to wait for an answer from the spirit, Larissa tried once more with her Mage Sight, to try and see whatever it is that took the power plant. She was used to actually seeing her father's (and grandfather's) rituals; even the ones that invisibly protected her home. Whatever it was couldn't be very different from that, could it?
  67. [19:45:48] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "I don't know all the details unfortunately, but most people end up here on accident.  This place is an overlap between the realm of mortals and the realm of Demons, and...from what I've gathered in my time here, the only reason people ever turn up here is because they were trying to commune with a demon.  Some people do a ritual because they think it's fake, others do it on purpose because
  68. [19:45:48] <~Aori_Radidjiu> they seek something from a demon, and bring others along as bargaining chips.
  69. [19:46:07] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "
  70. [19:46:11] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (Go for it.)
  71. [19:46:16] <Larissa> 1d100 mage sight goo~
  72. [19:46:17] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, mage sight goo~: 100 [1d100=100]
  73. [19:46:22] <Larissa> (oh dear)
  74. [19:46:32] <Kraken> (You go blind)
  75. [19:46:35] <Larissa> (i expect something entertaining D:< )
  76. [19:47:41] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "And sometimes it's because some young magician screwed up something much tamer."  You try to comprehend everything about this place, trying to see the fine line between your ritual and the other, see what constitutes it and...
  77. [19:50:06] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Oh god your eyes hurt so much your head hurts and...huh?  You swear the room was covered in velvet and there was a velvet cake on the table.  Weird. Blinking a few times, it remains for a second, then goes away, as if it were never there.
  78. [19:53:00] * DJ is starting to look a little more serious. "And uh, what's the definition of getting 'out' of here, then?"
  79. [19:53:03] <Larissa> Oh god, her head, why was it killing her all of the sudden.
  80. [19:53:32] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You don't know why, but you now feel like you're being watched, Larissa.
  81. [19:53:58] * Larissa clutches her head, ow, ow, ow. Thank God, or whoever else, that it was nice and dark in there.
  82. [19:55:23] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "It depends on how you got here.  The people I've seen get out have usually done it by deconstructing whatever components there were of the the ritual that brought them here."
  83. [19:56:41] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Or in some cases, simply getting out of the building.  Those are the lucky ones."
  84. [19:58:44] <Larissa> "Velvet... was this room ever... velvet?"
  85. [19:59:08] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "  Did you see somewhere else?"
  86. [20:00:35] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "I have no idea, velvet is a really weird color to have a room be, isn't it?"
  87. [20:00:54] <Larissa> "It's a material, not a color," she corrects the spirit.
  88. [20:01:08] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Oh, the material?  Like velvet cake...?"
  89. [20:01:12] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "...I miss eating."
  90. [20:02:24] <Larissa> "There was that, too."
  91. [20:03:42] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "This place is linked to several others, maybe that's why you saw something else?  I'm not sure.  It could be part of the Demon realm, maybe."
  92. [20:03:59] <Larissa> "Maybe."
  93. [20:04:04] <Larissa> "Are you tied to your body?"
  94. [20:04:20] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Why do you ask?"
  95. [20:04:43] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "I'm restricted to this room, if you have to know."
  96. [20:04:51] <Larissa> "We should leave soon, is why."
  97. [20:05:18] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Because I was determined to be a good piece of furniture for this room."  She shudders.
  98. [20:06:53] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "If you die here, the only way you can leave is if you contract yourself to be a lesser demon.  At least, that's the only way I've seen, but I can hope, can't I?"
  99. [20:07:59] * Larissa tries to see (via magesight probably) if there was anything trapping the spirit to the room.
  100. [20:08:22] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Roll it~
  101. [20:08:25] * DJ just kinda clams up and lets them talk.
  102. [20:08:28] <Larissa> 1d100 mage sight~
  103. [20:08:28] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, mage sight~: 65 [1d100=65]
  104. [20:08:46] <Larissa> (i didnt even roll under my Soul :< )
  105. [20:08:58] <~Aori_Radidjiu> WHO KNOWS
  106. [20:09:19] <Larissa> "I don't think I'm able to help with that."
  107. [20:09:28] <Larissa> "But, there is one thing we could try."
  108. [20:09:54] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Well, thanks for the sentiment, I guess.  For what it's worth, though, some of the malevolent spirits here are being driven crazy by their body being fragmented."
  109. [20:10:42] <DJ> (yay utilibranch)
  110. [20:11:18] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Good luck. I'll be here, I guess."  She phases out.
  111. [20:12:21] <Larissa> "Ideally, we should get your body out of here, so it can be buried in a nice graveyard, or something like that... but, I don't know if we could get it very far. It'd be interesting to see if taking your body out of the room changes anything, though." The last bit seems more to herself than anything else. It was exciting in its own way - she didn't have all the answers (compared to her
  112. [20:12:21] <Larissa> father, grandfather, and probably his father, etc., she had very few of those!), but there were things she could learn.
  113. [20:13:00] <~Aori_Radidjiu> She flickers back.  "Go ahead and try, but personally I'd worry more about saving your own neck."
  114. [20:13:11] <~Aori_Radidjiu> And gone.
  115. [20:14:02] <Larissa> "Honestly, at this point, I don't have much hope for survival... but, if we can learn how to fuck with your dark masters, it seems like a victory to me!"
  116. [20:14:40] <DJ> "...Uh..."
  117. [20:15:07] <Larissa> "Dude, they can literally blow things up at whim. How do you even get away from that?"
  118. [20:15:32] <DJ> "If you wanna carry around a decomposing corpse, feel free."
  119. [20:15:58] <~Aori_Radidjiu> She flickers back with a sigh.  "If you really want to , I'd recommend incinerating me and taking my ashes."
  120. [20:16:22] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "And-"  Her ghosteyes widen. "!!"
  121. [20:16:23] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Something changed..."
  122. [20:16:57] <Larissa> Gotta have a ghost buddy. Magic must defeat magic, after all... and Larissa was woefully short on spells that did anything to spirits!
  123. [20:17:13] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Her frown becomes frownier.  "I'm not sure what but..."  She starts staring hard at the both of you...
  124. [20:17:22] <Larissa> "Huh?"
  125. [20:17:27] * Larissa looks to DJ.
  126. [20:17:35] * Larissa looks behind her, too, for good measure.
  127. [20:18:50] <~Aori_Radidjiu> ", you..."  She's looking at Larissa.  "It has to do with you, but I"m not sure it your soul?  Or something else..."
  128. [20:20:28] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Whatever it is, I think you should be extra careful..." Brow furrowed.
  129. [20:20:59] <~Aori_Radidjiu> "Anyway, I've held you up long enough, you should get moving, with or without me."
  130. [20:22:13] * Larissa glance to DJ.
  131. [20:22:45] * DJ glance back. "...What?"
  132. [20:22:49] <Larissa> "I think a potential ally would be worth the trouble."
  133. [20:27:26] <DJ> "I dunno.  I'm not comfortable with this.  I just wanna go home, and not piss off whatever's already actively hunting us."
  134. [20:30:15] * Larissa glances back to where the ghost was. "Sorry. If I survive, I'll try to do something. It might take me a while, though."
  135. [20:30:34] <DJ> "If you think...  It'll really help us more than hurt us...  Then, I guess we can try."
  136. [20:30:47] <~Aori_Radidjiu> She doesn't reappear, but there's a faint "Thanks".
  137. [20:31:29] <Larissa> "I think, given that we're being hunted by spirits, having a spirit on our side might give us an actual chance of survival."
  138. [20:32:02] <Larissa> "And plus, if we die, I wouldn't want to be abandoned by the next group of people this place steals."
  139. [20:33:28] <Larissa> "I also think that we don't have a lot of time, so if you want to do it, we should get ready now."
  140. [20:33:57] * DJ sighs. "What do we have to do?"
  141. [20:34:43] <Larissa> "Well, she suggested incineration, and it's her body, so I don't see why not."
  142. [20:37:47] * Larissa looks to see if the break room has anything to store ashes in... and, well, anything to retrieve ashes from a furnace.
  143. [20:37:49] <DJ> "...What do we have to do that with?"
  144. [20:38:00] <~Aori_Radidjiu> If you remember, there was that jar of nails.
  145. [20:38:07] <~Aori_Radidjiu> In the room you started in.
  146. [20:38:19] <Larissa> (i did actually. i was just wondering if there was anything else of use in the break room, since larissa's never been there before)
  147. [20:38:30] <Larissa> (and i dont keep mental track of things unless my character was involved :v )
  148. [20:38:59] <~Aori_Radidjiu> If there is, it's in the refrigerator or one of the cabinets in this room!  There's a bunch on one of the walls.
  149. [20:39:49] * Larissa almost just goes and opens one of the cabinets, before remembering they're in a literal death maze.
  150. [20:40:55] * Larissa checks for traps first :D
  151. [20:42:20] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Notice, then!
  152. [20:42:37] <Larissa> 1d100 always check for traps. always
  153. [20:42:38] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, always check for traps. always: 39 [1d100=39]
  154. [20:44:13] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You see a few strings near the knobs on the upper cabinets.  You don't see anythign on the lower ones.
  155. [20:44:37] * Larissa tries to see what the strings are attached to.
  156. [20:44:59] <~Aori_Radidjiu> It looks like...the ceiling?
  157. [20:45:18] <~Aori_Radidjiu> And by "string"
  158. [20:45:39] <~Aori_Radidjiu> I mean "really thin wire that's easy to not notice", and by "near" I mean "wrapped around the knobs"
  159. [20:46:03] <Larissa> "What the hell? Is something supposed to... fall from the ceiling, if I open this?"
  160. [20:46:20] <Larissa> Too bad there wasn't any more ghost-light in the room. :(
  161. [20:47:41] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You want to try it?  Since you're expecting a trap, I'll give you a 10% shift on dodging whatever trap there is.
  162. [20:48:18] <Larissa> Is there a lot of tension on the wire, as if it was holding something in place?
  163. [20:48:23] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Yes.
  164. [20:48:40] <Larissa> Larissa tries to figure out how opening the cabinet is supposed to release that tension.
  165. [20:48:51] <Larissa> In essence, she's trying to figure out how to disarm the trap~
  166. [20:49:58] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Give me a mind roll!
  167. [20:50:16] <Larissa> 1d100 k, although i'd be cool with doing this with back and forth questions and stuff too :3
  168. [20:50:16] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, k, although i'd be cool with doing this with back and forth questions and stuff too :3: 92 [1d100=92]
  169. [20:50:25] <Larissa> (god damn it :| )
  170. [20:50:34] <Larissa> (someday i'll get less than a 90!)
  171. [20:50:43] <Larissa> (can we do it with back and forth questions instead? D: )
  172. [20:50:58] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You're not sure!  Maybe the wire's supposed to break from having more tension put on it?  Or it lets something loose?  Who knows.
  173. [20:51:46] <Larissa> Does the wire look especially easy to hold by hand? Eg if it was cut, and she held unto it?
  174. [20:52:30] <~Aori_Radidjiu> It's reeeeally thiin, like hair thin.  Might be fishing wire or piano wire.
  175. [20:52:44] <Larissa> She'd probably need tools for that, then, or something.
  176. [20:52:50] <DJ> DJ watches her.  "What are you even doing?  Are you trying to die?"
  177. [20:53:04] <Larissa> She gets out her backpack and checks to see if she has anything, asking DJ for bag-searching light since I think he actually is the one with the flashlight.
  178. [20:53:28] <Larissa> "There might be something useful in there. If I can figure out how to disarm it safely, then why not?"
  179. [20:54:44] <DJ> "Dammit.  Weren't you just talking about not having a lot of time?  Fine, here."  He hands over teh flashlight.
  180. [20:54:44] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Hmmmmm....
  181. [20:55:37] <~Aori_Radidjiu> I have no idea how well-prepared you are, so...let's say...a mind check to determine how well you packed?  I don't even think you really expected something like this to happen, but hmmm~.
  182. [20:55:39] <Larissa> "We don't, I guess, so if you want, you could get that jar from the other room!"
  183. [20:55:48] <Larissa> 1d100 inb4 100
  184. [20:55:49] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, inb4 100: 41 [1d100=41]
  185. [20:55:53] <Larissa> (HOLY SHIT I SUCCEEDED)
  186. [20:56:39] <~Aori_Radidjiu> LET'S SEE
  187. [20:57:29] <DJ> "Fine, but if I come back and you're dead, I'm getting the fuck out of here."  He leaves to the starting room.
  188. [20:58:33] <Larissa> "I'll be fine." Probably.
  189. [20:58:54] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You have a swiss army knife for general utility, some wire cutters that you can adjust how much force they're exerting, some pliers, a candy bar of whatever your favorite candy is, obviously you packed the flashlight, and you have...lockpicks?  Huh, how'd you forget about that?  You don't have much practice using them, though.
  190. [21:01:01] * Larissa gets out the wirecutters and the pliers.
  191. [21:02:24] <DJ> (Hey, I'm like, really tired today for no good reason, and I dunno if I can keep going much longer without having to have a nap, whether voluntarily or not.)
  192. [21:02:53] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (uuuuuuuuuuu)
  193. [21:02:59] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (I know that feel bro.)
  194. [21:02:59] <Larissa> ( :< )
  195. [21:03:07] <Kraken> (I don't :< )
  196. [21:03:20] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (Although I dunno' why, but I have trouble involuntarily napping.  Unless it's in class.)
  197. [21:04:24] <Larissa> (i hafta be pretty fuckin tired for that to happen :v )
  198. [21:06:17] <DJ> (We pretty much haven't gotten anywhere yet anyway.)
  199. [21:06:59] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (waiting for people to post ;_;)
  200. [21:07:13] <Larissa> (oh, i could... keep going D: )
  201. [21:07:16] <Larissa> (if you want D: )
  202. [21:07:58] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (It's cool, I'd prefer the pacing of this to be dictated by the players.)
  203. [21:08:11] <Larissa> Larissa's plan was pretty simple. Use the pliers to provide an alternative source of tension for the wire (to replace the cabinet doorknob), and then cut the wire off the door knob.
  204. [21:08:12] <DJ> (Like, would it be okay if he kept doing his thing until he's done messing with traps, and then assume DJ got the jar he's already messed with?)
  205. [21:08:27] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (Oh yeah that's what I was gonna' do anyway)
  206. [21:10:33] <DJ> (Alright, naptime ahoy)
  207. [21:11:03] <Larissa> (ciao)
  208. [21:11:17] <Larissa> (i'd technically be up for resuming post nap, but i dunno if aori would be too >__> )
  209. [21:11:32] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (Depends.)
  210. [21:11:38] <Kraken> (Are diapers)
  211. [21:11:49] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Anyway, TIME TO GO WITH YOUR PLAN
  212. [21:12:08] <~Aori_Radidjiu> You apply the pliers, and cut the wire, and...
  213. [21:12:17] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Give me a Body check to hold it in place.
  214. [21:12:29] <~Aori_Radidjiu> That stuff's pulling pretty hard.
  215. [21:12:34] <Larissa> ( D: )
  216. [21:12:43] <Larissa> (do i get a bonus for using pliers instead of my BARE HANDS? D: )
  217. [21:12:49] <Larissa> 1d100 VS BODY inb4 nat 100
  218. [21:12:49] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, VS BODY inb4 nat 100: 40 [1d100=40]
  219. [21:13:09] <~Aori_Radidjiu> That wire
  220. [21:13:12] <~Aori_Radidjiu> is your bitch.
  221. [21:13:14] <Larissa> (holy shit i succeeded. or failed, if my wound penalty applies for this. i dunno how we're handling that since wound penalties are weird.)
  222. [21:13:28] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Oh I forgot about the wound penalties.
  223. [21:13:30] <~Aori_Radidjiu> hm.
  224. [21:13:38] <Larissa> (do i get a bonus for using pliers instead of my bare hands? :D )
  225. [21:13:45] <Larissa> (alternatively, enduring pain :v )
  226. [21:13:52] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Roll me enduring pain
  227. [21:13:57] <Larissa> 1d100 nat 100
  228. [21:13:57] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, nat 100: 65 [1d100=65]
  229. [21:14:04] <Larissa> (failed entirely)
  230. [21:15:31] <~Aori_Radidjiu> But your hands HURT from being burnt, and after a little while the pain is too much to hold onto them so hard.  You let the wire slip and it goes up into the ceiling...a panel in the ceiling pops out...and there's a big spike above your head!  Roll Dodge.  You don't get a penalty from pain or anything, since you knew it was coming, and you'll have a slight bonus to pulling it off.
  231. [21:15:45] <Larissa> (wait)
  232. [21:15:48] <Larissa> (after a little while?)
  233. [21:15:50] <Larissa> (how long?)
  234. [21:15:58] <Larissa> (since my plan was to move as far away as possible before letting it go anyway)
  235. [21:16:01] <~Aori_Radidjiu> I'd give it
  236. [21:16:14] <~Aori_Radidjiu> 5 seconds
  237. [21:16:26] <Larissa> (that's like)
  238. [21:16:29] <Larissa> (almost two rounds of combat!)
  239. [21:16:31] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Which is enough time to get out of the way~
  240. [21:17:48] <~Aori_Radidjiu> So if you walk out of the way, the spike impales the ground where you'd been standing, burying itself about 2 whole inches into the hard ground.
  241. [21:18:22] * Larissa moves the FUCK out of the way, as far as she can, with, like, her arm stretched out to maximize between her and the cabinet. And then, she lets go. She's not entirely sure if she let go so much as just lost her grip, and her hand fucking hurts (she was almost ignoring it before, but now it's kind of hard to!), but... plan, success!
  242. [21:18:53] <Larissa> (does that involve a violence sanity check?)
  243. [21:19:14] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (Don't you have a hardened box already?  If you don't, then yes.)
  244. [21:19:20] <Larissa> (i failed, so nope D: )
  245. [21:19:24] <~Aori_Radidjiu> ROLL IT
  246. [21:19:25] <Larissa> 1d100 inb4 71
  247. [21:19:26] <DiceMaid-9001> Larissa, inb4 71: 95 [1d100=95]
  248. [21:19:31] <Larissa> (grr)
  249. [21:19:35] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Your pick.
  250. [21:19:59] <Larissa> (i suppose that doesn't count as any of my passions, huh D: )
  251. [21:20:06] <Larissa> (disarming traps is hardly impossible :< )
  252. [21:20:31] <Larissa> (and it was too calculated for my rage passion to have a chance of applying D: )
  253. [21:20:58] <Larissa> (i'm just gonna freeze up. seems safest.)
  254. [21:21:23] <~Aori_Radidjiu> (TYPE YOUR FLUFF)
  255. [21:21:33] <Larissa> (also it gives a good, natural ending point to the session. or part of the session, if we resume later :v )
  256. [21:23:38] * Larissa falls backward, staring at the ridiculous spike that just came out of the ceiling. She said earlier that she was pretty sure they were going to die, but for whatever reason, being faced with proof just broke her. Imagine if she was even slightly wrong about how the trap worked. Her life would've ended instantly.
  257. [21:25:18] <~Aori_Radidjiu> And that's a -temporary- wrap.
  258. [21:25:28] <~Aori_Radidjiu> Or maybe permanent for tonight
  259. [21:25:33] <~Aori_Radidjiu> hoo nos
