- Nokkun: well, once upon a time there was a wise little witch that lived in a tower far far away. and from her tower's peak she could see
- all that went on as far as the eye could travel in a straight line and more so with her magic.
- Kancchan: this one sounds fun
- Nokkun: she was a pretty thing with ember hair and a smile that pushed one towards thinking about a cat or a fox, both crafty and
- cunning critters of a unique disposition towards the world. and in their company she was often seen around her tower.
- Nokkun: many travels pointed a finger and warned of the evil of one such as she, but the villagers had always know about the witch's
- tower and the witch and laughed and said "not ours, dear boy, go gain your honor saving those who actually need saving"
- Nokkun: and all were happy with things as they were until one day when a jousting match was declared. the king sought champions and
- all the land was abuzz.
- Nokkun: youths of the village went up to the tower and she gave them blessings and tips and advice of all sorts, watching in
- amusement how many young boys rushed off for adventure. and even some girls of the most adventurous kind who knocked some lads
- silly when they dared to jest.
- Nokkun: and on the day the jousting started up in the tower she went and cast her eyes to the jousting grounds. the parents they came
- and lay down a feast and all sat in wait and talked and laughed about the adventures their young ones were having and how lucky they
- were to have such a friend.
- Nokkun: and so the rumours had started as the young ones wins of the curious case of the charming young witch.
- Nokkun: not long after this a young bold thing of a knight from some faraway land stumbled his way through the forest all bloodied and
- beaten. he'd took a wrong turn and feel into the fray with some fay and none was too pleasing.
- Nokkun: he had valiantly fought to the right, to the left and in the end ran cause nobody lives solely on being brave.
- Kancchan: @_@
- Nokkun: now as he stumbled unto the grounds, he feel 'neath the tower and so he was found, feverish and shallow in life and in breath,
- no hope he was given. he was given to death
- Kancchan: oh no~
- Nokkun: the clamour of villagers broke her concentration and the sly little witch made her way from her tower. she poked her head in
- through the middle of the crowd until next to the doctor she thoughtfully listened. beyond herbs and elixirs, that's where he was. no
- hope with such arts...oh well, how sad.
- Nokkun: a challenge, she thought right there on the spot. how wonderful it would be to do such a feat as to save another champion
- from a fate so sad? she harried the villagers to carry him in and all those who dared lent a hand to cast the knight in.
- Nokkun: the blacksmith he toiled to break down the armour, fused together it had been by the fay's blazing strikes.
- Nokkun: and when the job was done, there he was. a small tender thing, it seemed, without all the armour. a fragile one in slumber as
- her magics slowly worked.
- Nokkun: deep through she went, seeking to mend not just body but spirit. to anchor all of him there while the body was mending, that's
- what she attempted.
- Nokkun: she went through memories, through stories and pictures. she blushed when she saw his courtly first kisses. she laughed when
- he was dunked in cold cold water almost as loud as his brother once did.
- Nokkun: by the end of the night, the knight was well saved and also well known to a certain young lass who styled herself a witch and by
- others a friend and protector.
- Nokkun: as the days passed, the young man slowly mended until he was better than all would've thought. better than before, if one
- listened to him and the words that he said.
- Nokkun: the blacksmith fixed his armour, the baker made his food and soon he was ready to be on his way. but he did not wish to go
- from the town, he'd grown accustomed to the people, the crowd...and, more than likely, as old women would jest, he fell way too deeply
- in the sweetest kind of dream for a certain figure that lived in the shade of the tower they all knew.
- Nokkun: the witch blushed to think that such a thing was true. what need had she for a knight? for some hero? she was perfectly fine,
- she just liked the company once in awhile. what was so wrong? she had put up with peace and quiet for far too long
- Nokkun: it was not long that the knight knew the tower and slowly he learned of many little secrets. and not long before he found
- himself saying "hey, what if..." and merrily went to make a surprise to please the young maid.
- Nokkun: he did not know of her magic and no one bothered to tell him. let young ones, be young ones, that's what they said. and
- laughed in amusement as they saw the young knight, bravely tackle the task of learning all sorts of trades to make his surprises and
- gifts.
- Nokkun: and slowly they matched until one day, the knight realized that he had to go. it was his duty to his king and country to go to
- the joust and see where he was in the matches.
- Nokkun: with the young witch's blessings and gifts he made it there fast and jsut in time for the start of the jousts.
- Nokkun: he trained hard and carried her favour always tied to his arm.
- Nokkun: he fought many duels and all he shrugged freely away, his mind was elsewhere and his sword was more than a match for those
- that he fought.
- Nokkun: the young witch she knew not of how he felt, as each day went by she simply saw him jest with his friends and talking and
- cheering. he danced away at parties and dinners and told stories long into the day.
- Nokkun: you see, while she could see far beyond what she saw with her own eyes, her powers did not match the same skill when it came
- to her hearing and thus she had no way of knowing how the knight talked about her and jested with his friends how his knighthood was
- over and he'd be an honest man. a butcher, a baker, or a candlestick maker, it mattered not since he'd found the perfect place to go
- and see what life could do.
- Nokkun: and then came the days when the jousts were almost over, the knight was a finalist and already he thought of how he would go
- and return his lady her favour and ask her permission to stay in her company.
- Nokkun: but 4 days before all was over, her favour he lost while out in the field. he looked far and wide while the hunt went on and
- returned empty handed when full night had settled all over the land.
- Nokkun: the young witch saw just that her favour was gone, she knew not how and thus she felt slighted. and still she saw him dancing
- away and everyday seeming more joyous.
- Nokkun: and fury took over her gentle sly soul for she thought how could he be so ungrateful, so uncarring...so forgettful
- Nokkun: she went to her tower and with greatest of desire painted her revenge. the knight would win and the favour of the lady that
- replaced hers was there on his arm. she knew not that each night needed a favour to fight, nor that the lady was a cousin that was
- most dear to the knight.
- Nokkun: there was also a dragon and a field all alight. there was once a knight and then there were ashes and embers for eyes and
- black hair all ashes.
- Nokkun: and on the day of the final, the young knight won and then all was done as the painting foretold. he was struck down with fury
- by a rampaging dragon and no one knew why he was the sole target.
- Nokkun: a mere week it was before a party descended from the town to the tower, their hearts beyond mending. they told her the
- stories that all of them knew of her knight's dreams and hopes and his love for her.
- Nokkun: slowly, her cheeks faded from ruby to a yellow as sick as that of wax.
- Nokkun: poor thing, they all said, how hard this must be. she clearly knew not and how could she. they asked her permission to bury the
- night and off they went leaving her alone in the night.
- Nokkun: she thought and fretted and thought what to do. and thus she did not notice the flapping of wings, the perched new figure atop
- of her tower.
- Nokkun: the dragon spoke to her and asked how dared she use her for vengeance without her permission. the young witch was broken
- and started to cry and the dragon learned why. now, as we all know, the dragons are wise and know what all others know not, even in
- the magical arts.
- Nokkun: and as she put the witch gently to sleep, slowly she took off and went to the place where the young knight was burried. her
- claws dug deep and brought him atop.
- Nokkun: the armour was melted, his flesh was a mess and slowly the dragon remade him. she took from the land, always asking, of
- course, and gave onto him until he was as much of this land as the tower and the witch.
- Nokkun: the dragon told the knight the story of how all came to be. she told him of the lil witch's jealousy and todl him to think and not
- judge her hearshly for all young ones err.
- Nokkun: the knight stormed away, not a word did he say and the dragon went off to watch while unseen. she'd not let them harm a hair
- from the other, but she'd watch to see how they'd act.
- Nokkun: the young witch could not belive the sight she saw, her young knight walking up to the tower. a demon, she thought and locked
- up the tower but he was the land and he was the tower. all opened for him and so he went on until he reached the tower's peak and
- caught up to her.
- Nokkun: then he said his first words and carried on talking until the witch knew all that he felt and as the sun rose they watched it
- together. her figure melting within his own arms and hug.
- Nokkun: and the stories moved on of the witch and her knight who lived in a tower and had learned of true love and sacrifice, of
- forgiveness and how to recover from trouble from a dragon, no less.
- Nokkun: ~ Fin ~
