  1. Pokemon Ultra Sun Hatch-or-Catchlocke
  2. FOR EGG SUPPLIERS
  3. Couple of rules
  4. 1. Try to refrain from controlling stats like IVs, natures and egg moves. I'm trying to keep these aspects fair. That said, if you want to give me a breedject or a well-bred Pokemon, feel free to do so.
  5. 2. Hidden Abilities are allowed, due to nature of how abilities in general are passed down, so feel free to breed parents with their HAs for the chance that the offspring will potentially have it as well.
  6. 3. This is more of an aesthetic thing, and not necessary, but try to avoid passing down a standard Pokeball for eggs. I like having my team in various styles of Pokeballs, especially if they match the Pokemon's colour palette (IE, Cryogonal looks good in a Dive ball).
  7. 4. All regions EXCEPT Kanto* allowed.
  8. *UNLESS they have a cross-gen evolution, such as Magmortar, or an Alolan form. Eevee and Oddish are allowed as a result of their branching evos as well.
  9. 5. Send me a Wingull, and I will kill it immediately.
  10.
  11. UNALLOWED POKEMON
  12. The following Pokemon CANNOT be run. Listed below are two versions of the same thing, just in a different format to suit people's preferences. The first is a link to a visual guide you can use to remind yourself what Pokemon are not allowed, the one below is purely text-based.
  13. (ordered by national dex number and first stage's debut region.)

  99. Turtonator
  100. Mimikyu
  101.
  102. *Have a separate evolution line still open, so eggs of these are still allowed.
  103. **I'm also choosing Litten with the intention of having it hold Eviolite once it becomes a Torracat. It will also be a Litten with Intimidate I purposefully bred for, I just need assistance of essentially a middle man in trading the egg from my Sun game to my Ultra Sun file. This will be the first egg sent over and first to hatch to replace the one given from Kukui.
  104.
  105. POKEMON I'M INTERESTED IN
  106. the following are Pokemon I've always wanted to try and run, but either failed times before or just never got lucky to encounter them. A couple are ones I'm actually decently familiar with due to using them in undocumented runs, but really want to use them in an actual nuzlocke setting.
  107.
  108. (no particular order)
  109. Malamar, Archeops, Slaking, Klinklang, Tropius, Manectric, Gallade, Roserade, pretty much any Gen 5, 6 and 7 Pokemon I've yet to use as a result of them still being new to franchise.
  110.
  111.
  112. --------the rest below this line is just me musing not important for you to read unless you want to read how I developed this----------
  113.
  114. SUMMARY: This is a hybrid of a standard locke and an egglocke. The idea is that on each new route, I can choose to either hatch a new team member, or catch from the grass. Since the eggs are from friends who supplied to me and did not tell me what species it is, both types of encounters are random. Hatches are only done on routes or areas where wild Pokemon can be captured (e.x., Seafolk and Hao'Ouli City are legal hatch areas, whereas Malie City or Po Town are not). The only exception allowed is for the starter to be hatched in Iki Town, due to USUM's change of location of where you get your starter (it's changed to Route 1 for "where met", so that would kind of render any other parts of Route 1 invalid for a catch or hatch).
  115.
  116. Inherently, eggs might be the better choice most of the time, however, there are some interesting wild encounters I'd love to try for (Inkay, for example, as it can get Contrary which would be great for Ultra Necrozma later on) thanks to the expanded regional dex. And I've told my suppliers they can give ANY Pokemon; that includes shitmons like Delibird or Spinda. Further more, I've asked my suppliers to not control things like egg moves, natures or IVs (hidden abilities are allowed due to the RNG of how abilities are passed on, so I will not restrict this element); I want egg hatches to be as fair as finding something in the grass.
  117.
  118. The only Pokemon I am not allowed to have are ones I've previously and successfully run before, so my egg suppliers are well aware in advance of what I can't have. This means the likelihood of garbage mons are an increased possibility due to the variety I already have run.
  119.
  120. These restrictions ensure equality for both hatches and catches, as the idea of a nuzlocke is to let a Pokemon's potential reveal themselves naturally, without competitive influences. A Pokemon with terrible stats or nature can still leave as much an impression on me as one with perfect stats. They are characters first, competitive is saved for later for breeding and the like if a species leaves that much of an impression on me.
  121.
  122. In order to get the eggs, I will bring down 30 Pokemon caught from my Sun game via bank. I plan on getting the shiny charm once I can trade anyways. These Pokemon will then be traded for each egg in the Ultra Sun file. More eggs can be traded later on if 30 (somehow) ends up not being enough.
  123.
  124. Rules:
  125. ~Because trading isn't possible until I reach the first Pokemon center in Hao-Ouli City, the locke is not officially live. However, it is imperative that I do not let my starter die, since I will not be doing any catches, only grinding is allowed if needed before getting access to trading~
  126.
  127. 1. Standard rules, with the exception of the choice of hatching or catching the first Pokemon on a new route. It is one or the other, not both. This encourages team variety, and keeps the RNG fair. If hatching is chosen, stay out of the grass to avoid accidental encounters. Repel tricking is discouraged.
  128. 2. No dupes. My egg suppliers will be given a list of Pokemon I cannot run.
  129. 3. One free mercy revive, so long as I remember to do so the instant a death occurs and have a revive in my bag. If I don't remember to revive before the battle ends, or lack a revive, the Pokemon is dead.
  130. 4. Healing in battle with items is limited to opponent's amount of Pokemon (IE, opponent has 3 mons, I can only use 3 healing items in the entire battle). This applies only to items; healing status moves are unlimited use. Obviously this means no healing in totem fights.
  131. 5. EXP share is NOT allowed. Raising newly-hatched Pokemon will be the ol' switch-out method. Obviously carries its own set of risks, but these situations (e.x., Pursuit, incoming SD or Explosion) tend to be rare enough. My experience as a nuzlocker should keep the team safe most of the time, as I'm aware of most movesets for a large variety of Pokemon.
  132. 6. No using Refresh/Amie. Exception to this rule is if I choose to run a Sylveon.
  133. 7. Shiny clause always enacted
