- Somebody pointed 50 clearly hacked links to one of my websites.
- I had a less then legitimate guest poster who sent me an article to post on my website a few months ago who ended up sending, originally about 15 hacked links pointed towards the article.

- Since then, they've pointed a total of 50 hacked links towards the article.
- I obviously removed their link after they did so, but that website's traffic has heavily tanked since then.
- These are clearly hacked websites, as some of them even say (hacked by so-and-so), marked with the typical hacker bragging and so forth.
- Most of the articles placed on the hacked sites are about adult dating and casino stuff.
- I have obviously tried disavowing these links, but it hasn't helped at all.
- I am wondering if anybody has any advice as to what I should do?
- Would deleting the article entirely and letting it 404 maybe help?
- Or am I simply stuck waiting till these websites are fixed or expire?

- Is traffic organic? Because they could be sending you fake bot traffic as well. If you disavow the links no need to panic because it will take some time to adjust.

- Thank you for your reply.
- I don't think anybody is sending bot traffic to my website, but I don't have analytic software installed so I guess I can't be certain.
- Regardless, the website actually lost many of it's google rankings, pretty soon after the hacked links were pointed to it.
- The disavow file was uploaded, I forget, maybe 4 or 5 months ago now?
- Shouldn't it of taken effect by now? It doesn't seem to have helped at all.
- I was wondering if 404'ing the page would help at all?
- If it has effected rankings disavow them
- If it has effected rankings disavow them
- Thanks, but as I wrote, I already disavowed these, 4 or 5 months ago.
- I assume everything has been recrawled since then.
