Isolation is the antithesis of what we are. For almost 250,000 and some ought years. We as a species have survived off stabbing each other on the back and healing those same wounds for our friends. For better or for worse we have stuck together. I guess I wasn’t so lucky. I don’t know many people, I don’t know much about anything either, especially myself. I find that a lot of people find who they are by… reflecting off others, of course, I really wouldn’t know. I don’t know anybody, I don’t really know anything. Except. Lloyd. Lloyd was my only friend. He was the only friend I had for a very long time. I didn’t have family, All I had was my job, my home, and Lloyd. He was close companion, probably because he felt like he owed me that much, and I guess that swings back to how much of a screw up I was, that the only long-term friend I ever had was due to some disgusting walking guilt trip that I appeared to him as. He said I saved his life, helped him when no one else would or could, but he doesn’t get that just because you pick up a bloody egg no one seemed to care about in the middle of a hiking trip doesn’t make it so you’ve saved a life. Was he even alive at that point? I guess it’s debatable. I don’t know much about debate. I try to leave the thinking for Lloyd, at least when I’m at home. He’s smart. My home… Our home was about, an hour away from civilization, but only a few miles from it technically. We lived upon a mountain. I guess it made sense given who Lloyd was. I found him around here, and to take him away from that wouldn’t be right, not like I ever had the notion to, I loved the mountains. My father came from the mountains, and I guess so did his. Do these little guys even have family structures like humans? I don’t know. Do they like being called little guys? I think Lloyd liked it. I had to be careful not to think too loudly, or just replace what I had in my head with business talk. I felt like if I yelled Tax Exemptions loud enough in my own hollowed dome he’d tune himself out. It’s not like he was a peeping Luke. It was much like listening to sound for him. Just with my thoughts, and sometimes he couldn’t help to hear what I thought, So I drudged up some psy-ops MK ULTRA bullshit I once heard about, and so far it has been working. I am the man who stares at Lucario, I guess. I would go to bed at midnight and wake up at Six AM. I would do my workouts, I couldn’t be one-upped by the beast of a roommate I had. Though, I could, I always was. That man is a machine. With that stupid anime run of his he could run like, Fifty miles per hour. It wasn’t fair, though he still sprinted together on the weekends. We got to ten miles per run. He of course, never really got tired. Lloyd was… stoic. Is it instinctual? I’ve read books on them, his people. They lived in isolation, like lone wolves. Funny, because he is a canine… I mean is he? I’m not a biologist. I’d have to ask him, I feel like he’d know. “HEY, HEY LLOYD”. My voice echoed through the cabin. I chuckled at the volume of it. Like a whisper, “Yes, Freddrick?” “ARE YOU A CANINE, LIKE YOU HAVE SPIKES ON YOUR TITS, AND YOUR PAW HANDS, BUT. YOU HAVE A FACE LIKE A HOUNDOUR” “Yes, in our classification we our grouped up with other canines. Like Arcanine, or Mightyena.” “THANK YOU.” Yeah, see? Canines.
