  1. *knock knock knock*
  2. ….
  3. >”Anon…”
  4. *knock knock knock knock*
  5. Uuuuuggnng!
  6. >”Sir?”
  7. *knock knock*
  8. Fi...Five more minutessszzzzzzz
  9. *SLAM SLAM SLAM*
  10. >Who in the fucking world would pull a stunt like this? At this hour?! What kind of fuckbrained prick-
  11. >”SIR ANON! YOUR PRESENCE IS REQUESTED IN THE GRAND DINING HALL. AND MAY I SUGGEST YOU HURRY? THE PRINCESS IS WAITING FOR YOU THERE!”
  12. >Wait, what?
  13. Huh?
  14. >You lift your head up and find yourself in a room that’s jarringly foreign to you. You turn your head to get a good look at the place. Your eyes fill with cobblestone walls, a huge fireplace, giant wooden and stone beams, ornate tapestries, and beautifully knitted curtains flecked with what seems to be literal golden thread. Where the hell are you? What is this place? You push your body up and rise against the weight of the bedsheets. The bed swims in silken fabric below you, soft to the touch and warm from the light of the morning sun shining in through intricate stained glass windows above. This roomed seemed so heavenly, nothing like what you’re used to on Earth, that was for sure.
  15. *SLAM SLAM*
  16. >”Sir Anon! Princess Butterfly has requested your presence by any means necessary, even by force. If you do not open this chamber door, I’ll be forced to open it with the assistance of the royal guard.”
  17. >Shit. This guy seems serious. You throw yourself from the grasp of the comfortable bed to the heavy wooden door and fling it open, desperate to placate the man who is so rudely threatening you.
  18. YES YES! Good morning to you! Be a good chap and tell the princess I shall be down very shortly. Cheerio and all that hub bub, uhh… kind noble, sir.
  19. >”Yes… Sir Anon. But I do urge you to make haste. The princess is in another one of her impatient moods. She has even threatened to come up and fetch you herself. Thankfully for you, I am here in her stead. I trust you know what attire to wear Sir Anon? Your current dress is well… non-existent, to say the least of it.”
  20. >Dress? What is he even talking abo- HOLY SHIT YOU’RE COMPLETELY NUDE!
  21. AAH! UHH! OF COURSE SIR, I WAS JUST TESTING YOU GUYS. I wish to be left undisturbed while I change! THANK YOU!
  22. *SLAM!*
  23. >Phew. Well… that was awkward. Where the hell are your clothes? What happened last night? Did you crash at Sky’s place? Wait… Where is Sky anyway? Was this where Sky and Star lived? He did say “Princess Butterfly” after all. Was this really their castle? This room alone was the size of the entire Diaz household. It was quite a sight to behold. It was furnished with beautiful decorative plates, vases, and even full sized statues. Bookshelves lined the walls, filled to the brim with thick leather bound tomes glowing with gold text gleaming in the light from the window. Your eyes wander to your bedside table as your gaze lies upon what might be the most extravagant clothing you’ve ever seen. This... this is not common fare stuff. This is the real deal. This is the clothing of a noble prince… of a king. You were some lowly Earth peasant, not one to be adorned in rich, white, silken fabric. Well… when in Mewni.
  24.
  25. >You poke your head out the door to see if your royal escort is still lingering around. Much to your chagrin, he’s standing there patiently with his arms crossed and a scowl on his face.
  26. Umm… I think I’m finally ready.
  27. >”Very well Sir Anon, but I do believe that coat wasn’t designed to be worn in that manner. It’s as you would say, upside down, Sir. Perhaps you should try again?”
  28. >Shit.
  29.
  30. >You continue through the castle interior, your disgruntled royal guide in tow. He seemed to be upset about how long you took, but you couldn’t get the tassels to sit right, damn it. Being a royal douche was harder work than you thought. You still can’t remember why you’re even here, but you’re past the point of caring. You continue to make your way through various doors and hallways until you arrive at a giant golden door, more than twice the size of any you’ve gone through before. This has gotta be the place.
  31. >”You may now enter. I trust you won’t have any troubles finding your seat, Sir Anon?”
  32. Hahaaaa...Yea. I hope not...prick
  33. >You make your way through to the dining room and almost fall onto your knees. It’s easy to be stunned by just how large of a room it was. The hall was decorated in the same manner as your royal bedroom, yet even more extravagant. You reckon it could probably seat over a thousand people, easy. This place was the “grand dining room” alright. In the center of the room was an unfathomably large table. Sitting at the head of it was the Queen and King, plus a particular familiar face.
  34. >”Anon!”
  35. >There she was, Princess Butterfly in the flesh. And god was she breathtaking. She wore an elegant dress striped with vibrant blue and white, simple silk gloves that stretched to her elbows, and beautiful jeweled crown that would befit a princess such as herself. Her long, beautiful blonde hair was neatly tied in a bun, and it looked as if she was glowing. She shined like a beacon in the near blinding light of the hall.
  36. >”There you are Anon, do you know how late you are? We’ve been waiting here for like a half-hour.”
  37. Oh, uhh, sorry! I guess I overslept! Haahaaaa…
  38. >Something odd strikes you. You could see her, and you could see her parents sitting there, but you couldn’t seem to make out their faces. It was almost as if the room was increasing in size the more you pondered it. The far end of the table grew more distant than ever, despite you trying to walk towards it. You feel a sudden poke from behind, and a friendly voice assaults your ears.
  39. >”Anon. Anon? Are you ok? We’re trying to make a good impression on my parents here. What do you think you’re doing?”
  40. What? What are you even talking about?
  41. >”Duhhh? You’re meeting my parents for the first time? Don’t you remember?”
  42. Remember… what exactly?
  43. >”Anon, are you feeling alright?”
  44. Sky?
  45. >”Sky? What about it?”
  46. Huh?
  47. >”You were saying something about the sky?”
  48. Was I? Where are we?
  49. >”Anon! C’mon, wake up, Mom and Dad are almost here and you promised you’d help me get these kids dressed! C’mon! It’s little Skyla’s fourteenth birthday today. Its finally time to give this bad boy up. I'm gonna miss this thing. Its got...quite a lot of memories attached to it.”
  50. What now!? What day is it again?? What happened to the breakfast? I...
  51. >”Anonnn! Yoo hoo! Earth to Anon!”
  52. I…
  53. >”Catch me Anon! I bet you can’t! Hahahahah! C’mon, if you pin me I’ll give you a hero’s kiss from your pretty little princess”
  54. I…
  55. >”Anon?”
  56. Y-yea?
  57. >”You ever wonder if you have a soul mate out there? You know, like, the right person for you? The one you’re meant to be with?”
  58. Oh...yea… All the time Sky.
  59. >”Why do you keep saying that?”
  60. Saying what?
  61. >”Anon… I’m sad. Will you keep me company?”
  62. >Something is wrong. You know this isn’t normal, but you can’t seem to get a grip. It feels like you’re drowning in a sea of whispers and false memories. This has to be a dream for sure. It’s obviously a dream. Right? Then why aren’t you waking up? Why does your body feel like it’s made of stone? You close your eyes and try to wake up inside (but you can’t wake up inside).
  63. FUCK!
  64. >”Anon? Why are you sitting out here all by yourself?”
  65. ...huh?
  66. >You take in your surroundings for the first time in what feels like forever. You’re in a field sitting before a giant lake bathed in the pale moonlight from Mewni’s several moons. You can hear the sound of the wind blowing through the brush, the gentle ambience of the lake, the drone of chirping crickets, the sound of rippling water. Fireflies flicker above the water, casting their glow against the lake’s murky depths. You’ve never seen anything like it in all your years. It has to be the most beautiful sight you’ve ever experienced. Well, besides the girl who just plopped next down to you.
  67. >”Anon?”
  68. Wait a second...Star?
  69. >”Uhhh doy? Who else would it be? You’re acting weird Anon.”
  70. >She reaches out and touches your face with a tenderness that makes your heart melt.
  71. I think I’m dreaming, Star. I can’t wake up.
  72. >”Its weird, Anon. I can’t get you out of my head lately. It’s like… Like how I felt when I left Mewni the first time. It was scary Anon. I didn’t know anyone at all. But then I met Marco, and I felt something I never knew I could feel. I finally wanted the comfort of another. Someone to hold me and treat me like a princess. Ironic right? Me of all people wanting that. B-but… then…. Marco starting showing up less and less. He moved on without me. You were the only one left to comfort me. I… I never got to thank you for the time you spent letting me cry on your shoulder. How much time you spent caring for me and neglecting yourself. I just can’t forget it Anon. I can’t forget you either. I… I think I love you Anon. But I’m scared of what that means. For… for the both of us, ya know?”
  73. Star… why are you even saying this? What the hell is going on here? Why does this feel so real and yet so fake at the same time? I don’t understand… where… where’s Sky, Star?
  74. >”Sky? Sky…skkyyyy...hehehehe! Silly Anon… if you’re trying to find the Sky, why don’t you just look up?”
  75. Look...up?
  76. >”WAIT!”
  77. Huh….?
  78. >”Anon. Don’t go! I’m sorry ok!? I should have just told you! But I couldn’t! I’m sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you! Wait! Anon don’t look up! Anon! Please forgive me! Pleas-”
  79.
  80. *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
  81. UUUUUUGGGGGGH! What now!?! Get… OUT OF HERE!
  82. >You find the source of the noise and throw it away from you, desperate to regain the sleep you were so rudely interrupted from. The sound of plastic shattering against the wall permeates the room, snapping you awake as you begin to realize where you are.
  83. Home… I’m… I’m home.
  84. >Or at least what was your home now, one small shitty basement room the size of your entire old home, situated in a weird Mexican family’s house. Planet Diaz. Damn… What the hell did you just wake up from? Whatever it was, it feels like you’ve been gone for an entire month. You check your bedside clock… and realize you don’t have one anymore. Shit.
  85. >”Anon? Yo! Anon. You in there?”
  86. Marco?
  87. >”Open up, I gotta ask you something.”
  88. >You get out of bed and open the door. Something about it seems familiar to you, but you can’t quite put your finger on it.
  89. What’s up Marco? I almost never see you around anymore now that you’ve been with that new girl. Jannie?
  90. >”Jackie, Anon. Her name’s Jackie. ”
  91. Ohhh yea that’s her name. Sorry man... So what have you been up to?
  92. >”Quite alot actually. Jackie’s been dragging me all around town this week. I haven’t had any time to even stop and think.”
  93. Well, that’s not such a bad thing you know? Its nice to have someone interested in you and who wants to spend time with you.
  94. >”Yea...it sure is. So uhh... Have you seen Star?”
  95. Star? No, not here. I’ve been dealing with other Butterflies if you catch my drift.
  96. >”Uhhh...yea, I don’t, actually.”
  97. Lets just say that… the Sky’s the limit.
  98. >”I’m…totally not following you.”
  99. Lets just say that… the Sky’s falling.
  100. >”Anon, I’m serious, I have literally ZERO idea of what you’re talking about.”
  101. Let’s just say...uhh. I’m about to be a… Sister Fister.
  102. >”Ok! Let’s just...move on here! And then I can walk back upstairs and we can TOTALLY forget this ever happened.”
  103. Let’s-
  104. “ANON! Do you have any idea of what Star’s been up to? I didn’t hear her get back until past midnight last night. Then she wouldn’t open the door when I tried to check on her. I’m starting to get a little worried about her.”
  105. Sorry, I really gotta work on my presentation, I shouldn’t have hit you with “Sister Fister” until at least a few more puns down the line.
  106. >“Alrighty! This is my life right now. It’s ok, everything's JUST peachy! No no, no problems here, it's just that both of my housemates, have LOST THEIR DAMN MINDS!!!!”
  107. Jeeze Marco can you relax? You think you’d be a little less uptight now that you’ve got a chillaxed girlfriend and that whole jazz.
  108. >”Just...just answer the question Anon. Please.”
  109. I think she said she was going to hang out with that vampire guy. What’s his face. Omar or something?
  110. >”Oskar?! But I thought she said she was over him?”
  111. Look, I don’t know man, why don’t you ask her?
  112. >”I have no idea where she is, she was sleeping really late today and-”
  113. Star always sleeps really late.
  114. >”No, Anon, I know that, I mean even LATER than usual. It’s not like her. Well anyway, she’s gone now, and I really had to tell her something.”
  115. Well, I guess if she shows up I’ll let you know Marco.
  116. >”Uhh, well, that’s the thing, you see. My parents and I were leaving for a trip to see my abuela this weekend. She hasn’t been feeling very well lately and we’re going to make sure she’s doing ok. Star was supposed to come with us too, but…well, she’s not here. And she’s not answering her phone either.”
  117. Oh…soooo, no invite for me?
  118. >”What? Uhh… I don’t think so Anon. I’m gonna be honest. My parents may love you, but you really creep me out sometimes, man. No offense but, I mean, look at this place.”
  119. >Well, he is sort of right. You still haven’t cleaned up your room from yesterday. Its an absolute mess still. Blankets and bedding strewn everywhere, spilled over coffee mugs, broken beer bottles, weird stains all over the wall, it was pretty much Marco’s worst nightmare.
  120. Uhh oh yea! Uh, sorry about that Marco. I had a bit of a time yesterday… still didn’t clean up… Yet! Hahaaaa.
  121. >”Look, Anon. I’m really worried. You’re the only “adult” left here this weekend. My parents are *gulp*, leaving you the keys to the house. PLEASE, DO NOT DO ANYTHING STUPID WHILE WE’RE GONE! OK? The only one preventing this house from falling into utter chaos is you now Anon. Which means, when Star gets back, you gotta keep her occupied alright? Can you promise me you’ll make sure she doesn’t get herself into trouble? I don’t want to come back to find the house encased in a giant magic bubble again. Do we have a deal?”
  122. Uhh, a deal? What’s my part of the bargain exactly?
  123. >Marco narrows his eyes as he looks past you into your shitshow of a bedroom.
  124. >”The deal is, I won’t tell my parents you live like an animal. And you might wanna repair that drywall, just saying.”
  125. >Well…life could be worse, you’re just being blackmailed by your not so friendly mexican housemate to take care of his autistic bug princess friend.
  126. Uhh! Yea Marco! Totally man, sorry, I’ll clean this mess up right away. You can trust me, I’ll umm...make sure the house stays in tip top shape.
  127. >”Sigh… it's not like I have a choice. Just… take care of Star ok? She’s been acting really weird lately, and I can’t help but worry about her. I hope it wasn’t something I said to her.”
  128. Nahhh, probably not, Star’s a big girl, I’m sure she’d tell you if something was wrong.
  129. >”She just seems...distant. Ever since I’ve been hanging out with Jackie more, she’s been acting stranger by the day.
  130. >*HONK HONK* *”MARCO! MY DEAR SON! ITS TIME TO GO!”*
  131. >”Well, I’ve gotta head out of here, Anon. Good luck.”
  132. Alright Marco. Have a good trip! Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.
  133. >”*groan* I hope so. See you in a couple days.”
  134. >Phew. At least that’s over. You sit down and reflect on the mess you’ve created. You were essentially living here rent free, if it wasn’t for a few errands you ran for the Diazes. You couldn’t help but feel guilty about the way you treated this room. Well, now is a perfect time to rectify it. By the time Marco gets back, the house will be cleaner than ever, you’ll make sure of that. Now, where to start?
  135. *CRACK* *CREEEEAAAKKKK*
  136. >What the hell was that noise just then? That doesn’t sound goo-
  137. *SMASH*
  138. >If only to kick you while you're down, the ceiling above your bed collapses in a giant cloud of dust and insulation. It's so thick that you can barely see through it.
  139. AGGHHHH! GOD DAMN IT! WHY ME?
  140. >”*cough cough* *HACK* UGH! I CAN’T *cough* BREATHE!”
  141. STAR!?
  142. >”OH! Ahahaa! Hey *cough* Anon *cough*! L-long time no see! I was just checking the uhh… integrity of your drop ceiling. It uhh… didn’t pass the test? Hahahaaaaa. *cough* So umm. How’d that date with Sky go, big guy?”
  143. >You could tell, this was going to be one lonnnng weekend.
