  1. The Program
  2. The Program is an unspoken code of conduct shared by deputies within the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department. The Program originates by 'programs' ran by inmates in county jails and prisons around the state, some of which the LSSD runs.
  3.
  4. Very similar to the 'inmate programs' the Program is a list of presumed rules that deputies who wish to stay in a favorable position follow. The program entails the following keys point but is not limited to and the meaning of each point is construed. Overall it's generally used as a guideline to being a 'good cop'.
  5. Don't rat anyone out unless you absolutely have to, even then you'll be flagged as a rat.
  6. Don't talk to, work with or mix with rats or otherwise 'no good' deputies.
  7. Handle your own, back your badge and get the job done. No cowardice.
  8. If you see another deputy in a fight you back them 100% and don't stop till they're safe.
  9. If asked questions about a deputy by a supervisor or boss you act dumb but not enough to get fired for failure to cooperate with investigations.
  10. You've worked custody before so you shouldn't be shy to the roughhousing deputies can dish out on suspects, detainees and inmates alike. You get involved and look out for your brothers and sisters.
  11. Show up and work backup on other deputies T-stops even if they didn't ask for it. We all need to look out for another.
  12. Get to know deputies in your station and help them out wherever you can. We're a big family and you should at like it.
  13. In the event of a deputy being killed in the line of duty you'll make it your personal mission to look after their family when they're gone, as you would want done for you.
  14. Again, any specific points are more so meant to be guidelines of behavior for 'solid' deputies.
  15.
  16. 'Does that guy program?/He with the program?' - Is that deputy cool? Is he gonna rat me out if I beat on my detainee a little bit? Is he gonna get mad when I cuss that 1st amendment auditor out? Is he gonna tell the watch sergeant that I broke that kid's arm? Can I trust him to have my back?
