  1. Well, election was fun but I have my own life problems I have to get back to. It occurred to me that who is President has never affected my financial or personal life. The only noticeable effect was the Vietnam draft and that, oddly enough, was under a Democratic President.
  2.
  3. As for Trump, I can see him already modifying his nuttier votegetting proposals. Although he's appointing a few lying scum he's also appointing some sensible people. You might worry if you're Mexican, of course, but I think he'll first go after criminals then soften as the media highlights broken families. The media, guilty for giving him so much free publicity, isn't going to go easy. And one mustn't forget the little-known fact that Obama is the deportingest President ever - including women and children. The media just gave him a pass as they did on the TPP, Total Bankster Protection, and the Libya disaster.

  5. Trump's dumbest idea, on climate, may not be modified but frankly, Hillary's go-slow, don't-bother-the-corporations-too-much approach to warming would have been about as effective as Trump's "screw it" approach. This is because I think we're already well past the tipping point and just in a hysteresis delay. Neither Trump's negative nor Hillary's somewhat positive approach are going to alter the climate express train. It's unrealistic to think otherwise. That bottle was uncorked when Bush was selected and killed Kyoto. Now it's too late. Only a global Manhattan project that spends what the planet does on war, but instead on climate, would make a dent. And as we all know, that's not going to happen since politicians only react After a disaster.

  7. If there is an enormous permafrost methane release, the Greenland icecap slides into the sea inundating coastlines, and there is an Atlantic Megastorm that decimates the entire East Coast with five trillion dollars in damage and massive death, we Might see some action - but not before. We have a government that has become almost completely unable to act or react to problems, except for totally unnecessary wars and regime changes. That's because solving problems is complicated, while dropping bombs is so simple even a Texas politician can understand it ;')
