  1. you know
  2. i could go on for hours apon hours talking about just how much i hate ltj bukem
  3. aka the dude who has probably made one song that didn't just consist of a couple little melodies and a looping drum break for 7 minutes straight in his whole life
  4. people talk about him like he was revolutionary, he wasn't, he was a part the "lemme just loop a break then find some jazz samples to put over it then start a huge trend with it" cancer that drained jungle and dnb of their underground flare and numbed them enough to be put into the mainstream probably 4 years before 1996 even came to be
  5. and believe me, i've listened to most of his work from 92 to 96 and i still think it's shit, the only good thing he did was "19.5" which he produced with The Peshay, and tbh I think peshay did most of the drumwork on that one considering it wasn't just "doom doom bah teeka teeka doom bah teeka" over and over for 10 years, it was actually 2 amen breaks layered onto eachother each in different sequences, unfortunately later peshay also jumped on the break looping bandwagon
  6. and then 96 comes along and suddenly roni, bukem, and dillinja have ruined the entire scene and forced other artists to adapt to the mainstream style because "oh muh bassline better den durms it sound gud" and suddenly the face of the genre is changed for 20 years
  7. this gets me very, very pissed when i think about it, just think, without this dude and the others fucking everything up maybe the other proper jungle and dnb artists of the time would've made more tunes, maybe the numbed mainstream versions wouldn't exist at all, maybe jungle would've always been underground and underground only
