  1. [19:44] And so the two friends met, one last time. The blind man, shrouded in occult fire, barely even recognizable as a human anymore.
  2.
  3. The blonde doctor, a little more battered and beaten, but still the same man that stood beside Epsilon, watched him fight demons, stood beside him against vampire and thrall.
  4.
  5. Besides that shuddering, cackling laugh, he doesn't offer any response at first that indicates he even realizes who he's found.
  6.
  7. The flames grow higher, and it seems the tendrils of flame might be cast out, lashing and striking down the medic.
  8.
  9. But he hesitates.
  10.
  11. "Ess… Bee..." The grinning visage turns towards Sugarboy as the occultist lurches forwards, one ragged arm hung limp. "Here you are. Still. At the end of this. Aha."
  12.
  13. His other arm reaches out, gesturing to the blonde man.
  14.
  15. "You know, I am right, at least," he wheezes, "Do you not? The dead will fall upon Gehenna in droves, in waves, and bleed everything that stands in their way. Your pretty wife, SB. Your chiiiildren. These friends."
  16.
  17. The occultist's head hangs, shaking from side to side. "I warned them all. Oh well."
  18.
  19. Like it was all an act, he springs back up for a second, leering. "This is more fun, anyway. I hope you enjoyed having Malentine as your 'sister'. Hopefully you see why I hold him in such high regard."
  20.
  21. His arm twitches, his flaming wings bursting brighter for a second, as if his body is trying to disobey him, and rend the water magi limb from limb. "I told you all, friend. Stand aside. You chose not to.
  22.
  23. Now yours are the ashes."
  24. (Epsilon)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. [20:06] Here they were, the mad fire occultist, and the eccentric water exorcist. Old friends who met far far from these jungles, but here they stood opposite one another.
  28.
  29. The blonde would swipe his staff as a wave of holy water would wash away the tendrils with a singe as he stood his ground. Where the blind magi had lost most of himself to the darkness that burned within him, Sugarboy was calm and collected, that small smile on his face that was ever present. Here was where he'd make his stand, in a foreign land, fighting for not just the people he saw as his family, but the ideals they held with him.
  30.
  31. In the past, during stressful times, painful moments, his mind would recede as he let his soothing waters take control of his body, dictating his actions that would let him slip past harms way, but not this time.
  32.
  33. This time it would be Sugarboy fully in control, his truest self. It had taken years to work through, to build his confidence, hone his skill, control hismagic, but with the help of Euyitl to give him courage, his children to drive his purpose, and Tototl to grant him the strength, the blonde would finally find the means to oppose the made man who caused all of his worries and fears.
  34.
  35. A chuckle would escape his lips. " You're probably right, that's the annoying thing about undead- they never quite know how to go down." He'd accentuate the statement with a tap of his staff against the ground.
  36.
  37. He'd focus his eyes a bit at the mention of his dear sister, Mimi, the conniving Malentine. "It was fun, for a time.. I suspected there was more to her, but I guess that was that little hopeful light in me that's kept me going all these years. That same little light that'll give me what I need to finally put an end to your fun.
  38.
  39. But it won't be my ashes that nourish these lands. I'll do you the kindness of burning your body with the same flame you gifted me." He'd state as he raised his chin, beaming his growing smile that would make the spirits proud.
  40.
  41. "It won't be the same flame- the cinders of pain you gave me.. But the raging inferno of passion I have stoked on my own." He'd widen his stance, blood rippling around him, determined.
  42.
  43. "But first, I'm gonna make you say my name. No Esbee.. But Sugarboy, as I shoot you down with my own life essence." Pointing the skull of his staff at his enemy, ready for the fight before muttering two final words.
  44.
  45. "Old Friend."
  46. (Sugarboy)
  47. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  48. [20:27] A dance of flame and water, much like the ones that came before.
  49.
  50. But before- neither of the pair really wanted to hurt the other. They were friends, after all. Strange friends, probably harmful to one another, but friends nonetheless.
  51.
  52. This is different. The mad occultist holds nothing back, consumed as he is by the revelry of the madness. His injury holds him back some, unable to dodge as readily as he has in the past, unable to conduct the great symphony of flame.
  53.
  54. Waves upon waves of fire are met with corresponding blasts of water, turning the results into steam that the doctor then wields as well.
  55.
  56. The rush of it is thrown back in the blind man's face, and he clenches his teeth hard enough that they might break. But he winds around, directing the world itself to rewrite what's occurring, Sugarboy's attacks falling just short, but he himself tripped up by the tendrils of flame.
  57.
  58. The occultist grins as he lifts his once-friend into the air, fire wrapped around one arm. "Seee?
  59.
  60. Inevitable."
  61.
  62. His injured arm swipes out, directing a thin wave of telekinesis to sever Sugarboy's already prosthetic leg. Petty, perhaps, and the blind man's cackle indicates that he is very pleased with himself.
  63.
  64. "Goodbye, SB." The flaming wings seem to burn themselves out as the blind man stares down at the doctor. "It has been fun.
  65.
  66. Do not die, now. I enjoy you too much."
  67.
  68. With that he turns, silently moving away into the chaos.
  69. (Epsilon)
  70. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  71.
  72. [20:28] Cassidy Invidia says, "Epsilon. We're leaving. I don't know if you want to go with us but."
  73. [20:29] Cassidy Invidia says, "I don't think they'd enjoy a friend they attempted to lynch."
  74. [20:38] Sugarboy'd blood had wrapped itself around his waist, carrying across the burning field as he shot steaming projectiles of blood and water at the blind man.
  75.
  76. Tidal waves of water vaporized into thick clouds of steam, but his friend's chaotic tendrils seemed to find him regardless. Occultic burns would hinder his divine healing, but he'd fight on despite it. He had to.
  77.
  78. The small small he wore would gradually fade as the intense fight ensued, his focus growing sharper, but it was so damn hard to think straight in this maddening heat.
  79.
  80. A sharp pain would come just above the wooden pegleg- Damn if that fucking Crafthold Doctor had just been around, it may have been enough. He sustained too many injuries, and he was determined to make it home to his wife, to see his kids, to laugh with his friends.
  81.
  82. He'd concede, retreating back away from the madman who still thought he was so right. Darkness was always present, but it would not snuff out his light just yet.
  83.
  84. Another time, another day, Sugarboy would claim his victory over Epsilon, but it would not be today.
  85. (Sugarboy)
  86. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. [20:40] Cassidy slices a hole in reality with her scythe. Instead of the bleeding, gaping hole of darkness that usually comes from using rift magic, it's a door-sized hole that exits to: the plains! Cassidy steps inside. Epsilon could walk through but anyone else (except Potayo, hes cool) would be utterly repelled.
  89. (Cassidy Invidia)
  90. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  91.
  92. [20:41] Potayo says, "Sugarboy..."
  93. [20:42] Potayo says, "Tell me if i can do something to help you. I don't know what to do."
  94. [20:52] He'd lean harder on his staff than ever, blood dripping down the wood grains of his pegleg as he was hunched over. He'd offer a half smile as he winced from the pain.
  95.
  96. "Ah, Hey Potayo.. Sorry you had to see me get my ass kicked." He'd say with a weak chuckle.
  97.
  98. "If you could help me to the square.. I'm kinda finding it hard to walk, haha" He'd admit as he coughed up some black smoke.
  99. (Sugarboy)
  100. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  101.
  102. [20:58] He would immediately take his friend's arm and put it on his shoulder. :
  103.
  104. " You don't have to be sorry. This man deserves to be beaten. "
  105.
  106. The masked Ookami would gently bring his friend to the square. :
  107.
  108. " You did well, too. I am proud of your performance. This injury… You should be proud of it. Because you gained it in honor. "
  109. (Potayo)
