To get started, you will select a theme/topic from the suggested list found within the Research Project section of this Course Guide or under Week Five of the left navigation panel in the online course. If you have a theme/topic other than one listed, please submit it to your instructor for approval.  Microsoft Office Software . INF103 requires Microsoft Office software which includes the following:

 a. Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010 (or 2008 or 2011 for Mac)

 b. Microsoft Excel 2007 or 2010 (or 2008 or 2011 for Mac)

 c. Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 or 2010 (or 2008 or 2011 for Mac) (However, Microsoft 2003 or Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac are also acceptable.)

 In a brief statement, verify that you have this software and indicate which version. If you do not have this software, indicate that you plan to get an approved version of Microsoft Office this week. Having the required software is imperative to the successful completion of this course.

 Account Setup for Web Applications . You will be utilizing various web applications and tools in INF103. Some tools are required for the course and others are optional but highly recommended for those of you who would like to learn even more. Learn about the following applications and tools and then sign up and create an account for Google Drive (see the information below). Using the assignment button, under Week One Assignment Two, upload a brief statement verifying that you have created the required account and list your username for required the account and optional accounts (if any).
