    I realized that I would be happy around him but go home and feel empty and bad about myself
    he manipulated me very easily because I was desperate, he didn't even know it, I don't think, but he definitely would.
    he treated me like a lab rat sometimes, I guess it's only natural because he's so intelligent
    all those things, and I used to justify them because oh, deep down he loves me, etc.
    but I never truly believed it
    and I stopped believing in myself
    and when I had that sort of awakening and really started to love myself is when I already stopped feeling the need to be in a relationship with him
    to be honest, I still had exactly the same feelings for him when I broke up with him, but I made my decision
    which is why it hurts a little bit when I hear he said we broke up because I stopped feeling a connection, it wasn't that at all
    I know I should feel no more obligation to him though and it's been way past, but I want him to know that, you know
    I want him to know that I didn't break up with him because I didn't feel any more love
