[20:20]	<Sam>	"Leo, I don't know what to do."
[20:21]	* Leo	pauses for a moment, then sits on the bed, motioning for her to sit.
[20:21]	* Sam	sits down where he motioned
[20:22]	<Leo>	"Sit. We'll talk about it a bit."
[20:22]	<Sam>	"So our home gets blown up, and this golden opportunity shows up. We join the military, I feel like I'm finally gonna make a difference somewhere. Now this last mission has made me reconsider everything."
[20:23]	<Sam>	"You act like I'm such a big help, but everything I do is an accident, I don't mean to do anything that happens, and when I honestly try I can't make it the way I want to."
[20:24]	<Sam>	"The eavesdropping thing? I was following the little firebug for fun. The big rock tree, I found accidentally. I always just take the right passages when I go through mazes. I don't know how to do anything."
[20:25]	<Sam>	"Now after this last mission, I started thinking, what are we doing here. Are we really part of the military, or was Freya right, are they just using us, are they going to use her and then use Sparrow when it's her turn?"
[20:26]	* Leo	seems to think for a moment.
[20:27]	<Leo>	"I want you to know exactly why we need you, Sam."
[20:27]	<Sam>	"I was going to apologize to Freya, and all I could do was threaten her and try to get her to fight me. I need to tell Sparrow about her parents eventually, and now she calls me mother."
[20:28]	<Leo>	"Out of all of us, and I believe this with certainty, you out of all of us are the bravest, gutsiest, and have the most heart."
[20:29]	<Leo>	"Even without lucky playing into it, I don't think we could have gotten where we were without your guts and heart."
[20:29]	<Sam>	"You know that's not true, Kaz gets the most fired up over stuff."
[20:30]	<Leo>	"Kaz gets fired up because he's got ulterior motives. He's got missions and responsibilities weighting him down and driving him on. You? You feel for people, and you drive yourself on through a need to help."
[20:31]	<Sam>	"So who do I help, what do I do? Where do I stop hurting people on the other side to help the people on this side? I hurt Freya and Ariel out of haste and look at what happened."
[20:32]	<Leo>	"What happened was a scared girl is getting help containing an uncontrollable power from a professional, and her friend is assured of her safety."
[20:33]	<Leo>	"Turtle is sketchy, and I'd like a little time before I trust him completely, but there are far worse ways that could have gone."
[20:34]	<Leo>	"Either one of us... or her... could have died. Ariel could have betrayed her friendship. Freya could have betrayed her friendship...."
[20:34]	<Sam>	"Damnit Leo I'm sorry, I'm complaining about everything and you're the one who got really hurt through it."
[20:34]	<Leo>	"Your split second decision probably saved her life. We were able to take her quickly and with minimum force."
[20:35]	<Leo>	"This mission made me trust your instincts, I want you to know that."
[20:35]	<Sam>	"Well I still need to know what to do with these instincts, because I don't want to mess up like I almost did this time."
[20:36]	<Leo>	"That's always the trouble. We can never be quite sure if a decision is the right one until it
[20:36]	<Leo>	*'s too late to change your mind."
[20:37]	<Sam>	"You need anything in here, I'll grab it so you don't strain yourself."
[20:37]	<Leo>	"And as for me, don't worry about it. I'll heal. What's important is that you didn't mess up at all. Everything turned out as well as it could have, so I don't want you to think you've done something bad."
[20:38]	<Leo>	"As for Sparrow..."
[20:38]	<Leo>	"...Well, she's going to need someone with her parents missing..."
[20:38]	<Sam>	"So what happens when I'm wrong? What happens when I don't come back, or Tessa doesn't come back?"
[20:38]	<Leo>	"It's gotta be scary..."
[20:40]	<Leo>	"You do all you can. You move on as well as you can. It's hard and cruel for me to say but those are the situations when having a harder heart than yours is probably best."
[20:41]	<Sam>	"I dunno, but you always seem to be the most level headed, I'll think about it. Thanks Leo, again, I'm sorry."
[20:41]	* Sam	stands up and hugs him gently around the shoulders trying not to irritate the wound
[20:41]	<Leo>	"Don't be. Thank you for coming to talk."
[20:41]	<Leo>	"Oh... a hug... ok."
[20:41]	* Leo	hugs back awkwardly.
[20:42]	<Sam>	"Everybody needs a hug."
[20:42]	<Leo>	"If you say so."
[20:42]	* Sam	stands up and walks to the door, "Where do you think Brian went, I don't want him wandering into the airlock by accident with his nose in that book."
[20:43]	<Leo>	"No idea. Probably the rec room."
[20:43]	<Sam>	"Oh ok, he's fine then."
[20:43]	<Sam>	"Cya."
[20:43]	* Sam	walks out of the room with a sigh
[20:43]	<Leo>	"I need to go see Etna now, in any case, until later."
