Here is the job req for the Python Developer 6-12 month SOW in RTP,
(Research Triangle Park), NC:

HERE'S WHAT WE NEED...



We are in need of a Software Developer with Python, XML, and UNIX/Linux
experience for a local client opportunity.  The Developer is responsible
for developing and testing a data collection application for custom
solutions designed to fill specific customer need in a UNIX and storage
environment.



Specific Responsibilities:

-         create a GUI for internal data collection tool including a
multi-threaded launcher

-         create a parser (and parser library) that will generate
customer-viewable documentation (.csv/.xls files) from collected data
(XML)

-         extend data collection tool to gather information on 3rd-party
storage

-         develop a migration planning tool (associate existing systems
and LUNs on 3rd party storage with new destination storage on NetApp)

-         develop an XML schema for data migrations

-         investigate using APIs from external commercial application to
automate some aspects of a data migration

-         extend data collection to replace the existing data collector

-         assist with writing python-based test harnesses for automating
migration QA


Skills/background requirements:
-         system administration (there is a very large amount of system
information parsing, familiarity with filesystems, volume managers,
various OSes is a big plus)

-         strong XML development experience

-         strong unix/linux skills

-         strong understanding of storage (LUNs, volumes, filesystems)

-         strong Python skills required

-           Web services development

-         Nice to have PyQT/ PHP/Javascript skills



Education:



-           BSCS/CE or in related area required; or equivalent
