  1. Hamlet Sitcom
  2.
  3. Scene I: Hamlet, Ghost
  4.
  5. Hamlet comes home from school.
  6.
  7. Hamlet: Oh my, what a fantastic day this has been. I almost feel
  8.
  9. bad coming back to this dump my parents call a home. Time for
  10.
  11. some good ol' relaxation. The one thing I love most about
  12.
  13. relaxation is exactly how relaxing it can be. There is nothing more
  14.
  15. that I need in the world than a soft, warm couch, and plenty my
  16.
  17. favorite drama - *stops mid sentence*
  18.
  19. Suddenly, Hamlet answers his cell phone, it is his father's ghost on
  20.
  21. the line.
  22.
  23. Hamlet: No! [pause] No! [pause] You're not coming over! [pause]
  24.
  25. I don't care how angry you are [Pause] I said no!
  26.
  27. Hamlet sets the phone back in his pocket, continues to watch tv.
  28.
  29. Soon after, Hamlet's father's ghost clumsily enters the room,
  30.
  31. almost knocking the door off the hinges and tripping over a skull
  32.
  33. left lying on the floor.
  34.
  35. Hamlet: *facepalms* *groans*
  36.
  37. Ghost: Son, I have a secret mission for you! *Speaks the way a
  38.
  39. ghost would speak if trying to be overdramatic*
  40.
  41. Hamlet: Get out of my house!
  42.
  43. Ghost: You must avenge me!
  44.
  45. Hamlet: ... I must.. what?
  46.
  47. Ghost: Avenge my murder!
  48.
  49. Hamlet: Murder? You died trying to make toast with a propane
  50.
  51. tank and a heating pad, remember? That was definitely not
  52.
  53. murder. I don't even know what you're talking about.
  54.
  55. *Flashes back to father's murder*
  56.
  57. Father's corpse lying on ground, dead, Hamlet and uncle are
  58.
  59. enjoying the toast, sitting on top of the corpse. Uncle takes a bite,
  60.
  61. then begins to laugh maniacally.
  62.
  63. *Flashes back to present time*
  64.
  65. Hamlet: That was really good toast.
  66.
  67. Ghost: Listen, Hamlet. When your uncle comes home from the
  68.
  69. office, tonight, you must slay him.
  70.
  71. Hamlet: I don't know. Tonight really is not a good night. I was
  72.
  73. going to have Ophelia over, and she really hates corpses.
  74.
  75. Ghost: Have your fun, but she must leave early so that the murder
  76.
  77. may proceed as planned.
  78.
  79. Hamlet: *Starts getting fed up*
  80. Fine, I'll murder my stupid uncle. Will you please go away now?
  81.
  82. *Ghost opens a door, only to realize that it is a closet, then goes
  83.
  84. out the proper door*
  85.
  86.
  87. Scene II: Hamlet, Ophelia, Polonius
  88.
  89. Ophelia and Polonius are walking to Hamlets house.
  90.
  91. Polonius: And you never know what is going on in that boy's head!
  92.
  93. I say it is all lies! He only likes you because you know how to make
  94.
  95. a great pork roast. That is it!
  96.
  97. Ophelia: You're right, dad. You are always right.
  98.
  99. Polonius: Okay, so let's go over the plan one more time. You will
  100.
  101. enter the house, and you will return to him the cd's you borred from
  102.
  103. him.
  104.
  105. Ophelia: I never borrowed any cd's from hamlet.
  106.
  107. Polonius: That is the beauty of the plan. You never borrowed the
  108.
  109. cd's, so we are returning to him cd's he has never listened to
  110.
  111. before.
  112.
  113. Ophelia: I don't get it. Why? And what cd's are they?
  114.
  115. Polonius and Ophelia stop walking for a moment. Polonius
  116.
  117. reaches into his pocket and pulls out two cd's.
  118.
  119. Polonius: These are two cd's containing pop music remade by
  120.
  121. children. They're all the rage in Norway.
  122.
  123. Ophelia: No one in the right mind would listen to this crap.
  124.
  125. Polonius: Which is why this will be the basis of your break up.
  126.
  127. Ophelia: What? *exclaimed*
  128.
  129. Polonius: Did I forget to mention that? You are breaking up with
  130.
  131. Hamlet.
  132.
  133. Ophelia: Okay.
  134.
  135. Polonius. Upon returning these cd's, you will let him know just how
  136.
  137. bad you thought they were. You will tell him that it was the worst
  138.
  139. music you had ever heard, and that you never want to see him
  140.
  141. again. Meanwhile, I will slip in, unseen, and observe his reaction to
  142.
  143. all of this.
  144.
  145. Scene III: Hamlet, Polonius, Queen
  146.
  147. Hamlet sits crying on his bed, the cd's sitting beside him, and the
  148.
  149. music playing on his sterio. Polonius is obviously hiding in the
  150.
  151. room.
  152.
  153. Hamlet: Why, Ophelia, why! *crying out to self* You leave me
  154.
  155. because of this?
  156.
  157. *Picks up one of the cd cases, then throws it back onto the bed*
  158.
  159. Continues: You know nothing of passionate work, Ophelia! I loved
  160.
  161. you once. I loved you like a needle loves thread. Your warm, firm,
  162.
  163. tall, blood filled body. Your spirit, gushing out at me with the
  164.
  165. strength of ten thousand men. Ophelia!! *deep, heavy cry*
  166.
  167. Polonius comes out of his hiding place and sits down beside
  168.
  169. Hamlet.
  170.
  171. Polonius: *Pats Hamlet on back* Everything will be alright. These
  172.
  173. things happen.
  174.
  175. Hamlet: Why, me. Why must these things --
  176.
  177. *Hamlet jumps up*
  178.
  179. Hamlet: Who are you, what are you doing here!
  180.
  181. Polonius: It's me, Polon---
  182.
  183. Polonius is cut short, as Hamlet beats him over the head with a
  184.
  185. large stick.
  186.
  187. Hamlet: Oh, Polonius! I didn't recognize you at first. Oh, and
  188.
  189. you're dead. *insert laugh track*
  190.
  191. Drags the body out and into his mother's closet.
  192. However, unknowingly to hamlet, his mother had come home and
  193.
  194. is in that room, so she sees this happening
  195.
  196. Queen: By god, Hamlet, what have you done!
  197.
  198. Hamlet scrambles for a quit excuse, but falls flat
  199.
  200. Hamlet: I uh.. I..
  201.
  202. *quickly changes subject*
  203.
  204. Hamlet: Dad's going to be home soon, why don't we mix him up
  205.
  206. some cocktails?
  207.
  208. Queen: Deal!
  209.
  210. The queen helps hamlet toss the corpse into the closet, and they
  211.
  212. go off to make cocktails.
  213.
  214. Scene IV: Hamlet, Ophelia, Queen, King, Laertes
  215.
  216. Laertes and Ophelia rush into Hamlet's house to find Hamlet and
  217.
  218. the Queen gossiping at the kitchen table over cocktails.
  219.
  220. Hamlet: So I said oh no you di'int!
  221.
  222. The queen laughs hysterically
  223.
  224. Laertes: *Shouting* Enough! What the hell have you done to her!
  225.
  226. Hamlet: What are you talking about? She broke up with me, you
  227.
  228. jerk!
  229.
  230. Laertes: Ophelia, say something.
  231.
  232. Ophelia: *Sings pop music lyrics*
  233.
  234. Laertes: That children's music! It has driven her mad! I came
  235.
  236. home to see her singing at the top of her lungs. It was playing on
  237.
  238. five different sound systems!
  239.
  240. Hamlet: That is not possible! She returned those cd's to me
  241.
  242. today, told me she hated them, and immediately broke up with me.
  243.
  244. It made me sad! I cried for three hours! *Almost starts to cry
  245.
  246. again*
  247.
  248. Ophelia: *Sings pop music lyrics*
  249.
  250. *A thump is heard from behind, and Polonius's body slumps out of
  251.
  252. the closet*
  253.
  254. Laertes: Oh, that is it!
  255.
  256. Hamlet: Yes. That time has come. Soul Calibur duel.
  257.
  258. Laertes and Hamlet are an intense soul calibur fight, when the king
  259.
  260. returns home.
  261.
  262. King: What is going on here? *Looks at Polonius, and back to the
  263.
  264. duel* Is that polonius?
  265.
  266. Hamlet: No, no, that's the other guy. *Yells* Hey, Ophelia! Can
  267.
  268. you get me a coke?
  269.
  270. Laertes: I want one too!
  271.
  272. Hamlet: Make that two cokes, Ophelia!
  273.
  274. *Silence?
  275.
  276. King: Ophelia? Are you listening? *walks into kitchen to find
  277.
  278. Ophelia lying on the ground, dead* By god's grace! My queen,
  279.
  280. how did this come to be??!
  281.
  282. *Laertes puts down the controller*
  283.
  284. Queen: *Shrug* How should I know? *picks up drink with cup
  285.
  286. marked with skull and cross bones, sips*
  287.
  288. Hamlet: Mom! Our coke!
  289.
  290. Laertes: My sister is slain, and all you care about is coke!?
  291.
  292. Hamlet: Woah! Did you see that? Come on, you're not even
  293.
  294. holding the controller.
  295.
  296. Laertes: *Raising voice* My sister is DEAD!
  297.
  298. Hamlet: Well, that counts as a forfeit. Looks like I win.
  299.
  300. *hamlet stabs laertes, then drags the body over to where
  301.
  302. polonius's body lies. At the same time, the king and queen are
  303.
  304. dragging ophelia's body.*
  305.
  306. Hamlet: Wait a second, who the hell is that? *Points to polonius*

  309.
  310. The king becomes filled with rage.
  311.
