  2. Hello and welcome to FIRST DEFENSE fleet.
  3. This fleet is officially a fleet now. It seems like we have found some really good and dedicated players in you all. At the time of this writing, we have only been in existence for 8 days.
  4. This venture started with being in a dead fleet. When the participation points were made known, it became apparent right away who was and who wasn’t playing. In a fleet of 50 where only 5 people were playing, those numbers seemed like impossible goals to reach. In talking with many of you, I know you were in similar situations. With one bad turn along the way, we decided to try, and embarked on making our own fleet, not knowing what to expect. And then you all joined. This past week has been a roller coaster of trying to make everyone fit together. We have had hundreds of people in and out of the fleet, lots of people with no activity who were dismissed and some who left on their own for whatever reason. It seems that we are now stable and have who we are going to have. Thank you for coming in on the ground floor and being here as we formed ourselves. We would not be a fleet without all of you. Hats off to you!
  5. As people were coming and going, we were looking for a balance to put leaders in positions where they could help lower level players with their event crew shares and even in their chats as mentors with their experience. With all the flux we had, it was kind of difficult to keep up with all the shifts that were taking place. We were hoping that by putting strong leaders as squad leaders that some of the lower level players would benefit but also leave if they chose and not upset the balance too much. For the randomness with which it happened and the way people came in and out for days, it seemed like we should have been called the fleet of the revolving door instead of FIRST DEFENSE. 😊
  6. It is amazing to me that the squads are now as balanced as they are. We did end up with 2 weaker squads and 2 super squads. Thank you for being flexible and patient during this crazy and intense time. We have done all the shifting we are going to do. Now, if you want to change things up, it is up to you. We, the officers, do not want to micromanage your game time. If you are not happy where you are, you need to say something to one of the officers. We can swap a few people out. If you are good with your squads, let us know, miserable, let us know. At this point it is on you to communicate with us. From what I have seen so far, this is a really active and energized fleet. I hope we can keep this positive energy going. It is also to say that lack of participation, a minimum of 10, is the only requisite to remain in fleet. If we shift things up in the future, no one would be removed. My personal preference is to be stable with not a lot of flux. I believe that many of you feel the same way. Let one of us know of any issues and we will address them the best we can.
  7. Fleet chat is our way of staying connected across the squads. Please pop in to say hello when you are on. We are looking at another possibility to engage in a better chat. The officers will be testing out some things as possibilities. We already looked at LINE and that does not appear intuitive to me. This old one, meaning me, really struggled with it. Those stickers drove me nuts. If you have been in LINE you know what I am talking about. We are not going there! If you have any suggestions, please come forward. Currently we are looking at gmail for document posting and basic chat. No changes will be made without informing everyone.
  8. For my part, I will post and share whatever I can. Please check the fleet message board daily for announcements. That box does not give me a lot of space to write, so my messages may seem curt. I like to write, in case you couldn’t tell. My aim is to be open with you so you know where we are coming from. I am a strong believer in communication. It flows both ways but it starts with me. Please do not hesitate to contact one of the officers with any issues you have. We are all on the same playing field, even if we compete amongst ourselves at some point.
  9. With the changes going on, we had some complaints about leaders not posting their crew share in time for the event. Many of the squad leaders are new. We have all had some growing pains this week. Squad leaders, please try to post your share at the start of the event for your squad so that they can start collecting good squad points. It is also your duty as leader to share the best event character you have with your squad. Ask if you have any questions about who to share. It is also something to keep in mind that if someone else on the squad has a better character, they could be made leader for the event. Don’t be afraid to disband and reband prior to an event to get the best bonus for everyone. This is not something you have to do but something you could do if you chose. Work it out within squad what would work the best for you. Communicate with each other. Remember you are a team.
  10. Thank you all for your patience and for being here with us from the beginning of something really great.
  11. LLAP
