  1. Russia sunk to his knees slowly, ignoring the way the snow stung his flushed skin. Was this what defeat finally felt like? Being ripped from the high the soviet union had put him on. Even through that, despite it all Ivan felt something he hadn't genuinely felt in years now. Remorse. Where had he gone wrong? What was clouding his better judgement? There were so many questions running through his head that it was beginning to make hin lightheaded. Ivan sunk further into the snow on his knees, the snow beginning to turn into mush and liquid underneath this body heat. Clinging onto his clothes like it was a lifeline.

  3. Russia's hair was sticking in awkward positions, ruffled and thrown from his sleepless nights. Watching everything around himself that originally made sense now turn into a gust of confusion. What did this mean for his people? The controlled economy they once depended on now lay at the bottom of the barrel with the collapse of the soviet union. The man titled his head up, purple eyes glossed over with an emotion unreadable even to himself. A smile lifted onto his lips, before an airy chuckle rattled out of his chest and into the frozen air. This brought him back, brought him back to memories that were far behind him and when he allowed himself to be weak. Was that what he was now, weak?

  5. The frozen world around him offered no comfort, the snow fell as usual and began to coat his figure with gentle snowflakes. Everything felt the same, yet it wasn't. Ivan stood up once again, watching as puffs of clouds left his dry parted lips. He had to get away, recoil somewhere to hide from the faces of his people and countries who would pester him. There had to be somewhere. Anywhere.
