  1. OpenELEC:/ # apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`
  2. There is no working 'apt-get'.
  3. 'apt-get' is a command to install, update and remove software which
  4. is stored in a non local repo. 'apt-get' does nothing then connecting to such
  5. repo, downloads the software, unpacks the software, updates a big local
  6. local database with all filepaths and other informations about the
  7. installed software or removes or updates installed Software.
  8. With OpenELEC it is not possible to change the system for security and
  9. stability reasons so even 'apt-get' would not be able to do this.
  10. We also dont have and want to maintain such a repo for various other
  11. great reasons.
  12. Also Ubuntu or Debian packages are often outdated and not compatible
  13. with OpenELEC
  14. TIP: use XBMC's addon browser to enhance your OpenELEC system
