  1. >Compound bursts through, a flurry of rage, levitating a load of papers
  2. "YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS!!"(edited)
  3. >Compouns storms over to the nearest secratariy
  4. "I KNOW YOU'RE DISSAPEREING PONIES OUTSIDE THE WALL!!"
  5. >Compound slams what looks like a crudely drawn diagram of a FEMA camp and ponies being taken
  6.
  7. The mare giggled at what her naive mind took as a joke, and nodded after the uncertain question. Her eyes went towards a cabinet on her side of the desk and she levitated a red folder filled with papers, almost to a point of exhaustion.
  8.
  9. "I can--" But the interruption of a silver colored unicorn made the secretary partially hide and drop the folder in panic. "AGH! GUARDS HELP!!!"
  10.
  11. The front doors are slammed shut, and two angry guards hound down on Compound, tackling her to the ground and carrying her towards the 'containment room' deeper inside the embassy.
  12.
  13. "We'll show you, ma'am..."
  14.
  15. "Yea, you'll see who is the pony in charge alright~"
  16.
  17. "YOU CAN'T KEEP ME FOREVER GLOBALISTS!!"(edited)
  18. " THE TRUTH WILL OUT!!"
  19. >Compound is dragged away
  20.
  21. A nearby apple is levitated by one of the guards, and shoved inside Compound's mouth to act as gag as she is arrested
  22.
  23. Compound doesn't have to wait long to see the guard trot into the cell so leave pass for a green and lithe stallion; Tulip, the same government clerk she met during the expedition to the deposit of fertilizer. The guard leaves, and Tulip closes the door behind him.
  24.
  25. "Compound you can't keep doing this." He says in a stern voice, giving the gray mare a cold glance
  26.
  27. "YOU!! I CAN AND I WILL!"
  28. "i'll find out what you're doing in the swamp. i'm not buying all this 'deamon' nonsense"
  29.
  30. Tulip gives Compound a more condescending look, but after a second of thinking, he just drags the stool closer to him and sits down on it, getting ready to talk the subject thoroughly
  31.
  32. "Is that it? You just want to know about the beast in the jungle? Or are you just hoping some real conspiracy gives a purpose to your behavior? Because if it's the former, I can tell you all we know, it's public information." His expressive voice tells to Compound, like if he were talking to a child. "By the way, that time you tried to rub on me at the tent to get something for free... Really don't ever do it again, I'm, uh... mares are not my type of pony. Anyway! That out of the way, I can tell you /everything/ you want to know"
  33.
  34. "You can leave the town whenever! This just happens to be the place your leaders chose to build the colony. The place is yours" Daybreak could hear the secretary say as the presence of a new guard going for the front doors caught her attention. The black stallion on light silver armor carried on his tow a small crate, and left the building with it, without paying attention to the mares. "So, you can participate of expeditions under our direct protection, or organize your own with other refugees and request for assistance with the resources to make it happen safely. That's... sort of the keyword as of late: 'safety'. It's not all that great outside the colony grounds, although some refugees haven't had trouble to establish there, it's really far deep into the rainforest where it is dangerous."
  35.
  36. >Compound leans back looking skeptical, and alittle patronised "okay, Tulip. One, why give this 'super fertiliser' to a town of retards and delinquents? Two, what is the purpose of spreading rumours about monsters? Three, why have there been do many dissapereances? Four, why are thar guards unable to find any bodies? five, how was this place built so fast when we only started turning up a month ago? Six, what causes the oversised toads in the swamps? Seven why is the water in the well flammible on the first day of the month? Eight, why are there small pentagrams carved into some houses in town and not others? Nine, why is there an 'Embassy' at a small town that is still part of Equestria proper?"
  37.
  38. The lips of Tulip gesturize surprise at first, but as the questions pile up, he simply smiles and nods to each of them. Once Compound is done, he takes a deep breath and without dropping his eyes from hers starts to answer
  39.
  40. "That's a big bunch of questions, and I didn't expect less. But their nature... Ah, let's see. First off, we seem to disagree on how we see the refugees. You being one of them it's what surprises me. Not a single Equestrian pony participating on this effort thinks of the refugees as retards and delinquents." As he goes deeper into the subject, his tone changes to a more sympathetic one. "I can see why you don't agree with that, at least not right off the bat. Nopony is perfect, and we don't expect all of you to be paragons of friendship and harmony. We just expect you to build a town and be capable of ruling yourselves. From the bottom of my heart, it's what I expect. So, why not make sure the colony has a steady supply of fertilizer that would make their crops capable of withstanding anything this region has to offer? It's as simple as that... Let's move onto the second one, or is there something you want to say first?"
  41.
  42. >Compound looks incredulous "what kind of kingdom just gives away subjects and terriotry? that makes no sense"
  43.
  44. "The kingdom of Equestria, where all ponies are friends and our rulers work day and night for the well being of /every/ pony, be them from another world or our own... Compound, I was told you and the rest of the refugees all knew about us via something called 'Television', or 'Electric jew' as some insisted it was called" A chuckle escapes Tulip and he takes the chance to make a pause. "After I learned what is a jew I could get that silly joke. So, if it surprises you that the princess of friendship is eager to help ponies in dire need... it makes me think you weren't paying attention to her adventures at all. Ready for the next answer? Was it about the demon?"
  45.
  46. "there are plenty of rumours of dangerous monsters in the swamps. i've been out there, all i saw was snakes, toads and bugs."
  47. "What i did see, though, was destinctly pony made"(edited)
  48. "a quadrapedal scout vehicle, shaped like a large dog and camoflaged to look like wood, patroling the swamps in a small pack"(edited)
  49. "i know you've got something out there and you've got drones protecting it."(edited)
  50. "and IF a body was found, it would look like an animal attack."
  51.
  52. "Greaaaaaaat..." The stallion replies to Compound, also offering a weird look, albeit one of amusement at the mare's behavior. "This is a barely charted region, your leaders agreed to help colonize it. Princess Twilight suggested it would be a good idea to create a settlement for the use of the refugees as they see fit and Princess Celestia approved the necessary documents." After that, her rambling makes Tulip unable to contain his laughter, and another pause takes place before he can answer to Compound. "... They are called timberwolves, unless you are talking something else. In that case I've no idea what you are talking about, but I'm glad you've informed it so we can investigate. If it is timberwolves, well, they are really easy to get rid of, but I'll make sure to send a party to drive any pack of them away." Tulip then adds something in a more conspicuous tone. "But that'd be what I'd like you to think~ No matter what we do, you'll still be suspicious. Let's say the beast in the jungle actually mauled and killed those refugees as I was reported. Let's pretend the toads are big because that's how they are around these parts and the rainforest is simply not that safe to go through, so ponies dissapearing are the work of animals. In that case, if we, the Equestrians, weren't plotting against you, what would you do?"
  53.
  54. >Compound cocks an eyebrow " timberwolves? really? a play on words? Timber wolves just look like big fluffy wolves, these actually looked like wood. And what if you wheren't plotting against us i'd still be in New Lafayette with the Catfisherponies instad of having followed this!"
  55. >Compound tosses a colourfull flyer in front of tulip
  56. the colourful, if dirty, flier reads:
  57. 'Lost? Confused? have no Cutie mark? Think your in a cartoon and are terrified that the strange sense of unease accompanying that fact will
  58. slowly drive you to the point of madness and beyond? All the answered and more are waiting at idyllic OUTER HAYVEN!'
  59. After that there is some instructions on how to get to Outer Hayven and a Map.
  60.
  61. "i wouldn't call this place 'idyllic, would you?"
  62.
  63. Tulip's eyes express more annoyance than his more plain tone as he clarifies on Timberwolves, and so he waits until that is over to actually read the flier.
  64.
  65. "Timberwolves are actually made of wood. They are common beasts regardless, but some magic property on their bodies makes them able to reform even after their bodies are torn to pieces... Basically they are just regular wolves, made of wood, and awfully smelly." As he takes a look to the flier, the expression of exhaustion on him wears off and he stiffles some more chuckles. "This is awfully written... And clearly not made by Equestrians. We didn't even know the refugees had chosen 'Outer hayven' for a name! It's very good, I like it! Anyway, if you really think New Laffayette is better than this, you can always take a ship there and live off fish and salt. If you are fine with living with... Anyway, I wouldn't call this place idyllic as of now, but making that happen is up to you humans." Carelessly, he crumbles the flier into a ball and tosses it to a corner of the room. After thinking for a while, he resumes the conversation, having remembered the rest of the questions. "What was that about pentagrams and flammable water? Care to explain more?"
  66.
  67. >Compound sighs " When i got here about a month ago , the well was literally belching flames, yesterday it was doing the same thing. And a Pony told me that a month before i got here someone caught fire from the burning well, and had to be tossed in the swamp because the well water was on fire!"
  68.
  69. "Then I will have it checked! By the Sun and all the stars, is it /that/ hard to inform these sort of things?" Tulip replies inmediatly, almost cutting off Compound. "As for the pentagrams, just forget it. It must be some prankster, or somepony wanting attention... In any case the situation is going to be confirmed and then taken care of. Say Compound, was this all you needed to know? Because I got something to ask you too"
  70.
  71. >Compound looks distrustful of government officials named 'tulip', which is a destinct look from distrust in general as well as governmental distrust. "what do you want to know...?
  72.
  73. The stallion looks at her eyes with certain marvel at the capability to express so many types of distrust they have. Independant of that, he makes his question unfazed, "What made you think I'd tell you the truth and also let you out of this cell with that knowledge if I were as corrupt as you say?" At that same time, the door of the room opens, and a huge earth pony guard with gauntlets shows his face.
  74.
  75. >Compound looks contemplative "fair point, i figured i'd get kicked out back in the lobby"
  76.
  77. "Your coffee is here sir. Oh... I wasn't told you were talking with somepony. Hi, do you want a coffee too?" The towering guard says in a voice so kind it doesn't fit with his brutal looking figure. He enters the cell further, a tray with a mug on his tow. Tulip smiles to the soldier, gets up, and grabs the mug with a hoof.
  78.
  79. "She is fine, Obsidian, we were almost over with the conversation anyway, but if she wants she can have dinner here at the guard's hall." The functionary replies for the mare, turning around to face the open door. He addresses her again without paying a look. "Compound, the thing in the jungle does exist and I advise you not to venture too deep into the rainforest without good company. No matter how much I'd like to be a lie, some of the refugees have attacked others, and some others have succumbed to those things that lurk in the dark. If you need more information come ask me some other night, I've got spooky and conspiratory government stuff to do."
  80.
  81. >Compound squints at Tulip, she looks remarkably like Leonardo Dicapro in 'Inception' "yeah, i'm sure you do"
  82.
  83. "Be sure I do..." He remarks without as much energy on his voice. His hooves take him out of the cell and Obsidian is left alone with Compound in the cell.
  84. "Uh... do you want coffee then? We got some muffins at the hall too." The soldier asks timidly.
  85.
  86. >Compound gets up aggressively "Fine, i'll take your socialist coffee and muffin."
  87.
  88. "Ah! Uhm... s-sure, this way then." Obsidian indicates after a brief moment to catch his breath. He takes Compound to the guard's hall, a spacious room in the embassy where the soldiers off duty enjoy their meals. She is given coffee and sweet things and what not, bla bla
  89. And that's it
