  1. Good afternoon, class. I want you all to think back to the days of your youth. You'd sit around the television in your home and put on your favourite movie. Let's say that movie is Charlotte's Web. You sit and watch this witty spider converse with a spunky pig, and you fall in love with this farm animal turned pet. Yes, pet. Pigs have made their way into the homes of people worldwide. They vary in size, from that of a runt to adults the size of Wilbur. -slideshow of pigs as pets here- Aren't they cute? Very. Would you eat these pigs? Wilbur? Most of you would say; "yes, cook it up on the grill and serve it to me". The rest of you wouldn't want to eat the pig since it's your pet. Those of you who think like that relate mostly to Fern since, like in Charlotte's Web, she wouldn't allow Wilbur to be eaten. However, pigs and other animals are still being eaten on a mass scale. Why is that? It's because tasty and beneficial to a healthy diet. However, it doesn't have to be the main focus of it. You can still be as healthy as a horse without consuming a lot of meat; which brings me to my topic. I will relay to you why you should eat meat less, the benefits of eating meat less, and then I'll even tell you ways in which to eat meat less.

  3. Looking back at your childhood again, you can pinpoint many movies in which a talking animal was the star that won you over. Now take that same image, but this time imagine the talking animal dead and on your plate. Yes, I said dead. When you consume meat, you aren't only getting nutrition but you are also tearing into the flesh of a dead animal. This animal, like you and me, used to be alive. It felt, thought, and had emotions just like humans do. It is scientifically proven that animals have emotions just like humans. -show proof of 'proof' in slide-
