  3. ["Obviously you've never actually played a PSP system. One thing people fail to realize is the PSP was actually quite successful and Sony moved a large amount of units. Obviously in comparison to the DS it did not do as well. The system was cheaper and catered more to young children (can't believe how many times I've seen a 6 year old sitting in a cart in walmart playing a DS..) obviously it appealed to a wider audience."]

  5. You keep saying "Obviously you've never played a PSP", I've owned 2 and I have also owned a DS and a DS Lite. I'm not a fanboy who trashes systems I'm not familiar with. Yes PSP did move a lot of units and DS appeals to a wider audience as you rightly point out. No dispute on that one.

  7. ["Also I say obviously you haven't played the system because both God of War games easily look as good as anything ever released on the Playstation 2, hell even both IGN reviews say just that. The PSP may have been hit or miss at times, but overall it had one hell of a library. Not to mention it's so easy to homebrew on the thing you get a powerful console also capable of playing nes, snes, gbc and gba games on it's screen that IMO STILL looks better than the 3DS screen released years later."]

  9. The God of War games were certainly great looking games (I owned them) but I don't agree at all that they looked as good as the PS2 games. Smaller screen may look as sharp and they kept the frames up but it was lacking the effects and detail of the console games. I don't need to read a review, I can see that for myself. As for homebrew, for me that is the best thing about PSP and the main reason for owning one. It's pretty much the only aspect that was truly innovative. I don't think the screen looks any better or worse than 3DS just a different size. Given how many dead pixels I had on my PSPs its not exactly perfect either.

What you fail to realize is the system will price drop to 200$ (what is should of been released for in the first place) by the time those games are actually out. People can sit here and talk about the Vita because technologically it is far superior to the 3DS, in terms of raw power and design. Every single gaming website and editor I've seen mention the thing has been blown away by it and it looks like Sony was actually more clever this time around with the front touch screen and rear touch pad."]

  13. At no point did I say the 3DS was off to a good start and as someone that does actually own one (unlike most of the Sony fanboys trolling this thread) I know this better than most. Again you are arguing something that I didnt actually comment on. Yes the Vita will be more powerful than 3DS that is a certainty and Sony was clever to include touch controls. However as yet nobody knows how good the games will be until they are played and this is what I am taking issue with if you read what I have been posting. A machine can have as much processing power as possible and it doesn't mean much if the games aren't very good. Apart from a few standout games their wasn't too many great games on PSP. A few of the games I enjoyed on it weren't even that technically demanding either which further negates the point that more power automatically means better games. So once again I will make my own decisions rather than listen to journalists.
  14. And whether you want admit it or not the 3DS already does have a few good games available. The DS launch was about the same and given how that turned I think its ridiculous that people are trying to write the 3DS off already. Given that I have owned every console that has come out since the PSOne (yes I'm an enthusiast lol) I'm well aware of how bad some launches can be but also of how they aren't the be all end all of a system.

  16. ["We'll also have trophies on the go and the playstation network / playstation store which will give us a ton of great PSN quality titles instead of...oh...a game boy color game..released once a week, no thanks Nintendo. Also don't forget Nintendo has ALWAYS dominated the handheld market, they have years and years of an upper hand. The Sony PSP is the first handheld system to ever survive and compete with Nintendo. The only thing that kept a TON of PSP games from being much better was the lack of a dual analog stick which has now been fixed. Overall the 3DS will likely still sell more units thanks to it being catered to children but the Vita will do very well for itself as well. Also what the hell is with people bitching about getting console quality games on a handheld? Why is that a negative? I get great level design, huge expansive worlds, more raw processing power for animations, cutscenes, enemy AI, etc...that's a negative? I guess we should of just stuck with GBC quality visuals then, why do they matter!"]

  18. Trophies are good if your into that but I play just for the fun of playing, I don't need a validation stamped on it. Nintendo has dominated the handheld market not just because of the variety of its fan base but also because of the quality of its games. It's ignorant to suggest otherwise. You assume the 3DS will sell more how do you know that? You don't, along with other people assuming Vita will sell more. You also don't know what future games will be like along with support features, sales or anything else for that matter. Wait till the Vita is out and play it first before trashing everything else. PS3 had a lot on the 360 in terms of processing power not to mention 3 years and Sony aren't exactly winning in that area either (I own both consoles). Different format but the point remains very similar. More processing power is good and I don't have any issues with it as long as it doesn't drive the cost too high. But ultimately it is just a handheld, all I want is something entertaining to play while I am on the train or any other moment of boredom. If I want to be in immersed into massive environments and all the rest of it I will play my gaming PC. In response to that last remark, a lot of people did with the Wii and ran away with the sales (not so much now).

  20. So a nice post but 90% of it responding to things that I didn't actually say so I will make my original points again but clearer......
  21.
  22. 1. Play the damn thing before trying to tell everybody else how great/crap it is (that goes for any system).
  23.
  24. 2. Unless you can travel into the future, nobody can say how good a system will be or what its sales will be.
  25.
  26. 3. Fanboys are stupid. If you are happy with your purchase you shouldn't need to jump in every comment thread that mentions a competitor just to plug your chosen brand, especially when it is obvious you are just trying to validate it to yourself.
  27.
  28. 4. Don't make assumptions about other people.
  29.
  30. Thats is all. Can't believe I had to post all that after responding to a "3DS IS CRAP!!!" post.
