110.
  111.
1.1 Getting acquainted

  112.
  113.
You will always get acquainted with a client before starting work for them. It is possible that you could start cleaning for the first time directly after getting acquainted.

  114.
  115.
It is therefore very important to find out the specific needs of a client during the first meeting. Every client is different!

  116.
  117.

  118.
Are there special requirements that you should know about?

  119.
Does the client want you to use certain cleaning products? Listen to what the client is saying! If you don’t understand then ask the client to explain it again. Or call your coordinator.

  120.
What does the client always want done in the scheduled time?

  121.
Let the client know that they can always let you or your coordinator know if they aren’t satisfied with the work done. It’s only then that we can change or improve our services.

  122.

  123.
  124.
Are you afraid that you might forget the client’s specific wishes, or would you like a memory support to prevent unnecessary mistakes? In that case you can fill in the checklist together with the client during the first meeting, making note of any special wishes (for example the use of specific products). If the client has any questions that you can’t answer then refer them to your coordinator. The client can always call or email her for answers to specific questions.

  125.
  126.
If a client asks you personal questions that you don’t want to answer feel free to refuse.

  127.
  128.
Do this in a courteous manner.

  129.
  130.
1.2 General cleaning instructions:

  131.
  132.

  133.
It is important that if a client has special cleaning products that you use them. If you don’t understand the instructions for use of a product then don’t use it. If your client is at home discuss it with them or else call your coordinator. We’ll make sure that it’s clear to you.

  134.
  135.
Always be careful with specific products such as chlorine and antikal. It can be dangerous when these products aren’t used in the right way. Use only after consultation with your client.
Please note; some products contain very aggressive components that can cause discoloring and other damage. This is may not always be obvious or expected.

  136.
  137.
Use only the products that your client has indicated. Discuss with your client which product is to be used for which object.

  138.
  139.
Move furniture (where possible) so that you can vacuum behind and underneath.

  140.
  141.
Wipe, as standard procedure, all door handles and light switches with a damp cloth.

  142.
  143.
Empty all wastebaskets.

  144.
  145.
Change cleaning cloths and water regularly. Use different cloths for the toilet, kitchen etc.

  146.
  147.
Check the vacuum cleaner bags regularly.

  148.
  149.
When vacuuming always pull the lead all the way out of the vacuum cleaner. This will prevent the lead from heating up and becoming damaged.

  193.
  194.
Stainless steel: never use a scourer or abrasive! They will permanently scratch the surface. You can use a special stainless steel cleaner and a soft cloth. Ask your client for instructions on how they clean their stainless steel. A handy tip is to rub in olive oil after you have cleaned the surface.

  195.
  196.
Laminate: don’t use too much water when mopping the floor, it will curl up and come loose. You will often find a special laminate cleaner in the house. Vacuum with the brush setting to prevent scratches.

  197.
  198.
Washing windows: don’t use Glassex, which attracts dust. Methylated spirits is also not recommended, it leaves a blue haze. The best way is to use rinse aid for the dishwasher, dishwashing liquid or cleaning vinegar.

  199.
  200.
Antiques: dust with a soft, dry cloth. Always ask the client for clear instructions if the furniture needs to be waxed.

  287.
  288.

  289.         During the first 6 weeks of sick leave;
290. You will be paid during the first 6 weeks of sick leave from savings that you have built up during your work and you will continue to be paid for as long as there is money in the savings account. We save the standard amount of 6% for you from your gross income.
291. If you stop working for Home Works your savings account will be paid out to you.
  292.

  293.
  294.

  295.         Sick leave after 6 weeks;
296. If you want to continue to be paid during a sick leave that lasts longer than 6 weeks you can decide on a voluntary insurance with the UWV. If you give us authorization we can apply for you for this insurance. You can also apply yourself.
297. The UWV offers a health insurance (ziektewet-verzekering ZW) for 70% of your last salary for after the first 6 weeks of your sick leave.
  298.

  299.
  300.
The premium was in 2007 5,44 % of your gross hourly salary. If you have a WV insurance as well as your ZW insurance then you will pay 5,03% for the ZW, a discount of 0,41%. Go to www.uwv.nl for more information.

  302.
2.3 Leave

  303.
  304.

  305. If you want to be paid during a period of leave we can reserve part of your salary for this purpose. This reserve will be paid out to you when you take leave. We normally save 8% of your basic rate.
306. When you stop working for Home Works all your savings will be paid out to you.

  314.
  315.
Home Works can, if desired, help with your income tax. The amount of income tax that you will have to pay is dependant on your yearly income and personal situation. The first €6.500 of your income is tax-free. Home Works can reserve an amount every month for you so that you can pay your taxes.

  336.
  337.
2.7 Insurance: yes or no?

  338.
  339.
It’s a personal choice to take out insurance or to reserve money.

  340.
  341.
In contrast to the rules governing insurance for people permanently employed you are not compulsorily insured. The government decided, when it stopped the subsidies for home workers, to free the market from standard tariffs and various other facilities.

  342.
  343.
This gives home workers the freedom to choose their own insurance and savings plans.

  344.
  345.
If you are sick or unemployed for a long period and you don’t have any insurance then it is sometimes possible to apply for unemployment benefits.

  346.
  347.

  348. But there are conditions; that you don’t have any large private ownership (for example owning your own house) and that you don’t have a partner with a reasonable income who could support you.
349. If you wish we can help you to make the right choice.
  350.

  351.
  352.
2.8 Liability insurance (Aansprakelijkheidsverzekering)

  353.
  354.
You are never liable for unintentional or accidental damage caused by yourself during your work for a client.

  355.
  356.
For these matters the client must consult their own insurance company and will be informed there over by Home Works.

  357.
  358.
There is always the possibility that there is some doubt as to your negligence. To prevent unnecessary problems it is therefore handy to have your own liability insurance.

  359.
  360.
We advise you to get your own liability insurance if you don’t already have one.
