You, Salinx Captor are.... a little anxious. First off- Hatchday parties. What do??? How do dress??? You can't decide between formal or casual. It being an event Clams is hosting, you decide kind of a mix. Pants are never much of an issue- You can basically throw on any old thing as long as the band is comfortable and elastic... but you'll wear a long sleeved black shirt, and a yellow bow tie. There. Fancy casual.

You... look at yourself in the mirror. A quick glance to Chosis has them nodding excitedly at you- Oop, no, they're coming over to fix your bow-tie- And then you smile, and kiss them goodbye, and say you'll be back in the morning, don't wait up, I love you- All the nice goodbye things.

You know you don't have to dress super nice for cloudgazing either, but like... You don't know. You want to dress up for Kanaya too. You want to see her face when she sees you, all dolled up with your cut-short-again hair brushed into its dandelion softness, when she touches your cheek...

When she sees your eyes. You swallow thickly, overlooking them in the mirror. At first glance, everything seems normal. Red and blue. All's well. But then, the more you look, the more you can notice the sheen of the optic covering, the thin gold line that rims where your pupils once were. If she REALLY looks, she might be able to see each individual pixel.
You look back to Chosis. They don't have to look hard to know what you're worried about, and give you two cute little thumbs up, and an encouraging smile. Don't worry, they'll tell you. You're beautiful.

And then you blush, and you give them a kiss, and again you're off... stepping on the transportalizer, pushing that button... And arriving on the marble pad where, hopefully, Kanaya waits for you. She probably won't notice... at least for the moment.

No, you're much more interested in actually /seeing/ her, for what's very much so the first time, at least, without a camera feed. Seeing through grainy pixels and seeing in picture perfect HD... It's so liberating, now.

You can't wait.

You're there when he arrives, in a strange turn of events -- you got over a little early and managed to find someone to invite you in. You're not wearing the dress you're going to wear to the party later, but you're wearing something nice all the same; a three-toned fuchsia dress with black stockings, matching heels, and a thick gold bracelet. You're still in Meenah's hive and you want to respect that. Nevertheless, you're more than excited to see the yellowjacket semiformal apparel as it appears in a rush with Salinx underneath it -- you bound forward to wrap your arms around him, leaning in to kiss at the underside of his jaw with those impossibly black lips.

A little more gently, you brush your lips over his throat before you pull back, beaming up at him. He looks much sharper than usual, and oh, his haircut is so cute... you know he loved it long, but you adore how it looks short. You can refrain for now from touching, though. Wow.

"Look at you! Did you trip and fall in the style department or something?"

THERE SHE IS!!!

She's there right when you are, and gosh, she looks so good!! That dress is beautiful, sure, but you're in love with so many other things... The shape of her eyes, the curve of her ears, the arch of her eyebrows, that pretty smile on those beautiful, luscious black lips- oh fuck- she's already kissing  the bottom of your jaw, and then your neck. You didn't even have time to look at her properly before your face goes yellow and... ahh...!!

"Look at me, look at you!!" You exclaim excitedly, big, BIG goofy grin all over your face, lips stretched over your fangs- Which are... a bit longer than last she saw. You're letting them grow. Despite the obvious lisp problems, you're just... not gonna keep filing them down. Your vitamins are working too well, you think, but it's fine!

Now you return your gaze to look at her, just. Just taking her in. That dress, her skin, the color of her, the color of her eyes, of the way her smile sets on her cheeks, the scars on her skin, shit. You love everything you see, and your smile only gets wider. It takes some modicum of effort to keep your eyes under control- this much Love and Happy makes the programming want to do Heart Eyes.

You spend so long looking at this surprisingly color-coordinated look he has going on for him that you almost don't notice how much time he spends looking back at you.

Almost.

Your heart swells a little and you offer one hand forward to hold his, curling your fingers around his as you peer up at his face. His gorgeous fangs, his darling horns, that smile of his, his eyes...

"You can... see me, love?"

You're bouncing on the balls of your feet now, and the heels make tapping sounds on the transportalizer, where you haven't moved off yet. Yeah, you're not wearing shoes. You'll tell anyone who'll listen that there's no point to it! But that's beside this point right here.

"Yes." You lisp, without losing any bit of your grin. You don't say anything more, but your grin by now stretches ear to ear, and your eartips vibrate with your excitement, a feat people do not just see every day.

Oh, oh god. You lean in and take him in a burst of motion, carefully supporting his back as you spin him around and dip him down toward the ground like he's your dance partner and you've just performed on live television. You kiss him full on the lips, chirring hard, holding him tightly. What do you even say to that? You're happy to be alive. You're ecstatic he's here with you.

Your hand goes to the back of her head and you kiss her equally as hard and as passionate, albeit- you still can't stop your damn grin. Ah?????? ahh!!!!

When you let him up, it's carefully -- you did throw him way off balance, after all, and you have no idea if he's been eating well lately. You could have made him dizzy.

He seems okay, though.

"I missed you," is all you can get out. You're not going to cry. You're so happy to see him. For him to see you. Thank god these perfect wing-tips weren't wasted.

Thank god for carefullness? You are definitely a tad bit unsteady, she certainly threw off your balance there, but it's alright, you've already recovered.... You lean over to her, just for a second, and kiss her forehead, then her nose, then her lips. So, so gentle, so, so soft.

"I missed you too." You whisper. "I'm really, really glad to finally see you... I know you noticed, back... at Niccos... But it'd been a while. I... Honestly, I..." Your voice shrinks, your smile fades just a tad. "I was fighting it off in the Helm, too. I've never seen... you, in such clarity before... you're beautiful."

Oh, wow. That's a lot to unpack, mentally. It's not bad, though. He sounds... delighted, reverent. You're glad of it. You take both his hands, you kiss him back when he's in reach, you gaze up at those eyes of his -- they don't seem to be completely real, but not in an uncanny way.

You smile softly at him, squeezing his hands.

"I guess that means you'll get to see my body for the first time all over again then, doesn't it?"

You very diligently do nothing to accentuate your bust when his digital pupils seem to be shuddering to go down, downward. That wouldn't be fair. You do, however, smirk at him, only a little. You don't have too much in the way of a chest, but you're glad he double checked, anyway.

"I do want to see... do they have tactile sensation too? I know maybe that's a weird question..."

You shake your head. "They feel like glass, if you touch them. Warm to the touch, though. But I don't think they're glass, they're stronger than that... This whole time I've been fighting the programming because it wants to do this."

And then you let the heart eyes happen. You let the little projection appear in the lenses, and the little holo-hearts float up around your eyes, and you just. Grin.

"That's so cute, what the hell! What the hell, Sally!"

You're not going to let him know that you asked him that so you could know whether or not it was safe to kiss him directly on the eyes. Seems like it's alright, though, you just have to save that for a moment when you're not wearing anything on your lips.

And now you're picking her up!! And your heart eyes turn into regular eyes again- "My favorite default setting is this-" And now the gold line is thickening, and forming a crosshair where your pupil is. "I don't know why, I just like how it looks? But I can do so much with them... I got them... Four... five.... six months ago? Or something- Shit, I don't know." Your ears flick down- You just realized how long it's been. And then, inwardly cringe, because, shit, if it's been about six months or more since she's seen you... Uhm... Yeah.

You laugh softly, and carry her and yourself off the transportalizer, down the beach and the steps and outside and... yes, good.

The same thought crosses your mind, and you can't help the troubled expression that crosses your features, briefly. You're so happy, right now... but so much has happened, lately. Maybe you're not stable enough to be with Sally right now. He deserves you at your best.

"Look at you, all strong and confident, picking me up all burly and strong... I didn't realize you had superpowers, now."

You aren't... sure you saw that expression, but you saw something.... You aren't sure you want to deal with your heat yet either.

You purr lightly, carrying her outside... You know she deserves the best, and you know that, right now, the best is you. She can spend time with Meenah later.

You lean down and press a gentle, soft kiss to her lips. "Hey, I've been out of the helm for almost... three sweeps now. I'm doing good! Now. Sort of.... Now, come on. We're gonna go look at clouds on top of the lighthouse."

"You got so handsome, suddenly," you remark, kissing him back. The gentle smile is back on your face. "Well, you were never not handsome, but you sort of punched me in the face with it when you appeared on the transportalizer just then..."

You kiss him again. Just because he's there, just because you can. "Are you going to carry me all the way up?"

You laugh to yourself, just quietly. "Did I? I'm really trying to be.... good. To myself, and to my babies, and to my chosis... To everyone. But thank you??? I'm flattered-" Your eyes display the word "doki" in both of them, and it pulsates lightly, and your grin widens again. "See? But no, I'm going to do this."

And then you lift off the ground!! And just, you know, lift up the side of the lighthouse, holding her tight to you.(edited)

My Chosis, he said. You haven't seen Chosis in... well, since before. The love in his voice is palpable. Your heart aches a little.

And then he lifts off.

A part of you expected this. You really, really did. It was a big part of you. The other part of you has claws dug into his shirt, cheeping the whole way. This still counts as carrying you all the way up, in your humble opinion, but he wouldn't hear you past the wind if you told him so. Bastard.

You land gently onto the lighthouse top, and you set her down there- Where did this blanket come from- no matter, it's set down up there, and you lay down too, patting the ground next to you.

You're gonna lay there and just... enjoy her presence, for as long as you can.

You touch down and let him lay down just so you have an opportunity to just... look at all of him. He's so sharp. He's practically glowing, he's so beautiful, you feel so strongly...

...and you lay down next to him of course, sliding your hand into his. He's so warm. This is so cookie cutter and beautiful.
