  1. >You groan at the dull feeling of pain in your bones.
  2. >Wait, pain?
  3. >Your eyes shoot open, and you immidiately close them again, wincing as you do so.
  4. >That bloody sun...
  5. >You slowly open your eyes, gazing over the room's venue.
  6. >Well, it's white, which explains the glaringly bright surroundings.
  7. >You appear to be on a bed made of...metal?
  8. >You would have preffered to be on a nice stone slab, but you aren't complaining.
  9. >Especially not after facing that beast.
  10. >If it can even be called that.
  11. >It's more like a construct, or a treant.
  12. >Regardless, it's time to get up.
  13. >You attempt to roll to your side and push yourself up...
  14. >But stop, because of the teeth-grindingly painful feeling of bending battered ribs.
  15. >You slowly return yourself to laying down on your back.
  16. >You settle for looking around the room, to see if there's anything else.
  17. >Multiple diagrams are placed on the wall, detailing various parts of the body of the 'Ponies' you've seen before.
  18. >On the wall, there seems to be a weird black and white drawing of a ribcage.
  19. >Why would anyone draw what one looks like in that color scheme?
  20. >One would have terrible difficulty distinguishing parts, you assume.
  21. >You shift around in your bed, not much movement being allowed because of your ribs.
  22. >Although, it appears you are in a room for healing.
  23. >You guess that the ponies brought you here after the fight.
  24. >Having another quick glance around the room, you don't see any potions for promoting healing.
  25. >What kind of healer's room doesn't have any elixirs?
  26. >And how is the metal on this bed so smooth, and not an edge?
  27. >Your mind starts to hurt from all of these strange items.
  28. >Better not be a wizard messing with your mind again.
  29. >Relaxing into your bed, you find that you can still bring up your hands.
  30. >Manuevering them into a position that promotes flow of spirit, you fall into a meditative trance, allowing your Ki to coax your tissues into regenerating.
  31. >Your eyes slowly drift shut once again, as you envision the gardens of your youth, where you spent many hours by the Pool of Mirrors.
  32. >...
  33. >"What do you mean, his ribs are almost healed?"
  34. >You tense your brows as the voice, which you identify as female, shouts loudly.
  35. >"I-I don't know why, Redheart!"
  36. >You hear the clip-clop of hooves approaching the bed.
  37. >"No, it can't be! Somepony's ribcage wouldn't just heal that quickly!"
  38. >"But look! They're solid!"
  39. >You feel a hoof press into your side.
  40. >...
  41. >"I'll be damned, they are! How is this possible..."
  42. >The hoof continues to poke into your side.
  43. >You grunt.
  44. "Lass, would ye be so kind as to stop doing that?"
  45. >You hear the pony stumble backwards.
  46. >"W-What the-!?"
  47. >You sit up in the bed, yawning.
  48. "And a good mornin' to ye too, lass."
  49. >You open your eyes, and rub the sleep-sand out of them.
  50. >It appears that sometime during your meditation, you fell asleep.
  51. >It was welcome though.
  52. >"There's no way you could heal that fast! You shouldn't even be awake right now!"
  53. >You turn to the ponies in the room.
  54. >Once again, they appear to be mares.
  55. >Why are there so many mares?
  56. >You haven't seen one stallion, yet.
  57. >Looking at one of them, you note she is a soft shade of white, with a pink mane done up in a bun.
  58. >She also has a little cap on her head that has a red plus sign on it.
  59. >That's pretty damn cute.
  60. >Her mark, at least that's what you're calling it for now, appears to be another red plus with a light pink circle around it.
  61. >The other one-
  62. >You catch a glimpse of her hoof as she runs out the door.
  63. >Well.
  64. >In the time of your observations, the pony is still looking at you with a curious expression.
  65. >"How...did you...?"
  66. >You blink.
  67. "Pure will alone, lass."
  68. >She blinks, and starts to chuckle.
  69. >"If that's what you call magic, then I suppose it is. Although, it still is amazing how you could do that."
  70. >You frown.
  71. "It ain't 'magic', lass."
  72. >She starts to debate that point, but you don't pay any mind as you hop out of bed.
  73. >...
  74. >It's markedly colder.
  75. >You look to the unicorn, who seems to be preoccupied with staring at you, mouth slighly open with a slight blush on her face.
  76. "Whassa matter, lass? I'm just a dorf."
  77. >She snaps out of it, shaking her head back and forth, before covering her eyes with a hoof.
  78. >"...you're not dressed."
  79. >You frown, and look down at yourself.
  80. >And are greeted with the sight of your chest, and your lower half.
  81. >Huh.
  82. >...
  83. >Oh Kols, no.
  84. >You hop back onto the bed, and cover yourself with the sheets.
  85. "Sorry, lass!"
  86. >Why didn't you check to see if you had your robes on?!
  87. >"N-no, it's alright. You just...forgot..."
  88. >She trails off, her blush gradually deepening.
  89. >You don't notice it though, still trying to get over the fact that you exposed yourself to a horse.
  90. >She shakes her head once more, seeming to have cleared the image out of her head.
  91. >"W-well, the ponies that brought you in requested to be notified when you were awake...would you want me to do that?"
  92. >You debate for a moment, glad to have your mind off of what you just did.
  93. >"Hmm...sure, lass. Go ahead and get them, if ye'd be kind enough."
  94. >She nods, and smiles good-naturedly.
  95. >"Alright then, I'll go and do that for you."
  96. >She turns, and trots out the door.
  97. >You didn't notice that her tail was raised slightly.
  98. >...
  99. >[Redheart Perspective]
  100. >You trot down the halls, rushing to your office.
  101. >You're glad that he bought that excuse.
  102. >You don't know what you would've done if he kept you there.
  103. >Why of all times did you have to have your heat now?
  104. >You had already used your vacation days, so you were totally screwed from staying home.
  105. >You open the door to your office, and close it behind you.
  106. >Trotting over to your desk, you take a few ragged breaths.
  107. >It was foolish of you to think that you would be okay to go to work, what with the extremely low population of stallions in Ponyville.
  108. >But, once again, fate decided to screw you over.
  109. >Which is exactly what you would have done to that poor stallion...
  110. >But he isn't a stallion...
  111. >He appears to look like a minotaur, but he called himself a...'dwarf'.
  112. >Maybe they're an offshoot of minotaurs?
  113. >You've heard things about them...
  114. >What they can do with their hands, their strange, yet erotic positions they can get a pony into...
  115. >And best of all, is their stamina!
  116. >They can last a whole five minutes!
  117. >You shiver, thinking of how that would feel.
  118. >You wish that you could get with a stallion right now...
  119. >Maybe...
  120. >Maybe the 'dwarf' wouldn't mind-
  121. >You slap yourself with a hoof, head jerking to the side with the force.
  122. >You whisper to yourself.
  123. "Bad Redheart, thinking of sleeping with patients. That's how one of your friends got fired, you know? You need this job..."
  124. >You continue to mutter to yourself, and jump when you hear a knock on your door.
  125. >"Erm, Miss Redheart? There's some ponies here to see the new patient..."
  126. >Wait, there are?
  127. >There are!
  128. >Now you aren't lying when you said you were going to get them!
  129. "Alright, I'll be out in a moment!"
  130. >You hear the clip-clop of hooves trotting off.
  131. >Sighing heavily, you set about making yourself decent, before going off to get the ponies one of the other nurses told you about.
  132. >...
  133. [Anon Perspective]
  134. >Kols, why is that damned pony taking so long?
  135. >It's been 15 minutes, you would think that-
  136. >"SURPRISE!"
  137. >Your heart almost leaps out of your chest as the bundle of pink jumps out of the flowerpot next to you.
  138. "Gah, Kols, don't do that to me!"
  139. >You take a couple deep breaths as your heart races.
  140. >She sheepishly smiles.
  141. >"...Sorry..."
  142. >The rest of the group you met before trots in with the nurse.
  143. >You briefly recall that one of the other ponies, whom you didn't get a glimpse of, referred to her as Redheart.
  144. >How fitting.
  145. >You return your attentions to the high-strung pony next to you.
  146. "It's alright lass. Just dinnae do it anymore."
  147. >She returns to her bouncy self, jumping over to the other ponies.
  148. >Twilight seems to confused at your good health, standing out from the other ones who are merely glad you are well.
  149. >You wave to them.
  150. "How are all of ye doin'?"
  151. >They each respond in their own way.
  152. >You scan over the group one more time.
  153. >The rainbow one is missing.
  154. "Erm, lasses, where is Rainbow?"
  155. >They shift around, looking confused.
  156. >'Redheart' speaks up.
  157. >"She's currently in another room, recovering from a bruised ribcage. She was hurt, but nowhere near as much as you were."
  158. >You let out an imperceptible sigh.
  159. >You're glad she's alright.
  160. >Twilight clears her throat, and begins to speak.
  161. >"Well, it appears that we owe you our thanks. Not many ponies survive an encounter with a Timberwolf Alpha and live!"
  162. >She seems awful cheery.
  163. >Fluttershy sniffles a little.
  164. >"T-that poor deer..."
  165. >Rarity pats her on the back with a hoof to try to soothe her.
  166. >"It's alright, darling."
  167. >Something is still biting at you, though.
  168. >There's still someone missing.
  169. >Oh...
  170. "Where are the three wee lasses?"
  171. >Applejack turns to you.
  172. >"Alla them were grounded fer runnin' off into the Everfree. Wish we coulda done more then give 'em a talkin' to, but we're glad they're alright."
  173. >You nod your head, though you were slightly confused.
  174. >Grounded?
  175. >All that comes to mind is being planted into the ground, like a stone.
  176. >Or a tree, but you feel better to think of stones.
  177. >You're a dwarf, alright.
  178. >Twilight turns to Redheart.
  179. >"When is Anon going to be able to leave?"
  180. >The other ponies crane their heads to look at Redheart for the answer.
  181. >She kicks a hoof in thought, before responding.
  182. >"Well, we were going to have to keep him here for three weeks for his ribs to heal, but he looks well enough to be here for only one."
  183. >The other ponies smile, and Pinkie hops in place with glee.
  184. >'How is she even able to do that?'
  185. >They all walk up to you, and sit by your bed.
  186. >Once again, Twilight begins to talk.
  187. >"So, since you're here, would you like us to visit during the week?"
  188. >You pause.
  189. >You could either have them visit, and have some company while you heal, or...
  190. >You couldn't, and be starved for conversation.
  191. "Sure, lass."
  192. >I was an easy descision, really.
  193. >She looks at you with an excited grin, and levitates a quill and parchment next to her.
  194. >"So, I was thinking that I could ask some more questions..."
  195. >Oh Kols why.
  196. >...
  197. >You can't take it.
  198. >She never runs out of questions.
  199. >The worst part is, the others joined in too.
  200. >You look over to the nurse, silently begging for help.
  201. >She chuckles silently to herself, and begins to talk.
  202. >"So, do any of you want to go check on Miss Dash?"
  203. >They all turn to Redheart, blinking.
  204. >...
  205. >"WE FORGOT ABOUT HER!"
  206. >Redheart waves to another pony in the hall.
  207. >"Would you mind taking these ponies to a patient by the name of Rainbow Dash? The room should be just down the hall."
  208. >You don't hear the response, but you assume it's positive, as the group of ponies files out.
  209. >Only the nurse remains now.
  210. >She shifts awkwardly.
  211. >"Do you need anything?"
  212. >You shrug.
  213. "Besides rest, I don't think so-"
  214. >*gurgle-gurgle*
  215. >Huh.
  216. "Scratch that, methinks I need food, heh."
  217. >She chuckles, and trots up to you.
  218. >"Do you mind if I feel your ribs again, before I get some food for you? I can't very well take an X-Ray because I'm not a unicorn."
  219. >You don't know what an 'X-Ray' is, but you think she wants to get a feel of which of your ribs are broken.
  220. "Aye, ye can lass."
  221. >She nods, and takes a hoof and starts feeling your side.
  222. >You feel a dull, muted sensation of pain.
  223. >She continues up and down your side, feeling in various places.
  224. >Eventually, she pokes too hard at a sensitive rib.
  225. >You wince, sitting upright, and grab her hoof.
  226. >She freezes up as you do so, and you push her hoof away from you.
  227. "I think ye found a sensitive spot there, lass."
  228. >She slowly nods, eyes fixed on your hand, face lighting up with a blush.
  229. "Could ye be so kind as to get food for me, now?"
  230. >Once again she nods, still staring at your hand that's holding her hoof.
  231. >You release it, and she returns it to the floor.
  232. >"I-I'll go and get it. Just wait for a bit, alright?"
  233. >You grunt, and lay back down.
  234. >She turns to trot out of the room, hooves making little sounds as she walks out.
  235. >You're too absorbed in ignoring the pain to notice the subtle sway she has in her hips.
  236. >...
  237. [Redheart Perspective]
  238. >You trot out of the room, and close the door.
  239. >You sit down heavily, and lean against the wall.
  240. >Dear Celestia, those...paws, or whatever he calls them...
  241. >They felt so GOOD on your hoof!
  242. >You sigh, the warm breath tickling your chest.
  243. >If you could have only one moment with him alone...
  244. >You slap yourself, the pain taking your mind off of rutting.
  245. >What is wrong with you?
  246. >You need to put the patient's needs before your own!
  247. >You stand up onto your hooves, and start to trot to the kitchen.
  248. >Having no vacation days sucks...
  249. [Anon Perspective]
  250. >You sit in your room for a while, before Redheart returns with dinner.
  251. >It looks pretty good, actually.
  252. >While you eat, you share a small conversation with Redheart.
  253. >After eating your dinner, she takes the tray on the trolley she brought, and says to press the button next to you if you need anything.
  254. >You nod as she explains, then turns to trot out of the room.
  255. >Laying down, you hear her mutter to herself about another lonely night with her hoof.
  256. >Puzzled, you start to think about why it would be so.
  257. >Body parts aren't very good for conversation, so why would it be that?
  258. >You eventually decide to give up on thinking about it.
  259. >Once or twice you use the button, and a pony comes in to attend to your needs.
  260. >It's useful.
  261. >After about a couple hours, you feel your eyes start to sag.
  262. >You pull up the covers, and close your eyes, beginning the descent to the realm of dreams.
