  1. Dear druids and druidesses of the Hartstone,
  2.
  3. I write to you today to put forth my name in the upcoming election for the position of Keeper
  4.
  5. of the Hartstone.
  6.
  7. After many years of faithful service, Qistrel Starleaf has chosen to step down from the role
  8.
  9. of Guild Administrator, leaving it open for contestation.
  10.
  11. Why do I aspire to hold the position of Keeper of the Sacred Grove?
  12.
  13. Aside from the general belief that leaders are fundamental in the functioning of a guild and a
  14.
  15. vacancy is not benefitial to furthering the interests of the guild members, I believe that the
  16.
  17. Hartstone may need to be pointed toward a new direction.
  18.
  19. Saran has addressed a key point that requires the attention of the guild administration
  20.
  21. already in his post. Indeed, the advancement system appears to be unsatisfactory, as we have
  22.
  23. seen very little interest from guild members in advancing along the established paths. He also
  24.
  25. mentions the truth that there has been discussion regarding a restructuring and changing of
  26.
  27. the advancement paths for a number decades. Many ideas have been proposed and developed, but
  28.
  29. none have been truly established or successful in their goals. Thus, as Saran notes, the
  30.
  31. Keeper shall be tasked with this endeavour - to revitalise guild interest in advancement as
  32.
  33. well as maintaining this interest.
  34.
  35. Another issue that I see falling upon the desk of the Guild Administrator is the prospect of
  36.
  37. the lore and history of the Hartstone. We have begun, if not continued, to lose ourselves,
  38.
  39. what we stand for, who we are, and what we represent as individuals and as a whole. This, too,
  40.
  41. is a worthy challenge to whomever holds the position of Keeper. Qistrel attempted, in part, to
  42.
  43. resolve this by helping to expand our guild library. I believe she succeeded as our shelves
  44.
  45. are now lined with quite a few more titles than before she was elected. Yet, what else may be
  46.
  47. done? I believe that we might be able to compose new rituals, revive old ones, and share
  48.
  49. the Past with the Present. As Keeper, I will work with all of you as well as with the other
  50.
  51. guilds to establish and develop practices and experiences that will help us all understand our
  52.
  53. lore. In regards to discovering our individual true potential, I hope to work to set out a
  54.
  55. sort of spiritual journey specialised to its particular undertaker. Of course, these will take
  56.
  57. time and require the assistance of all those involved. These may be, or may not be, tied to advancement paths.
  58.
  59. Before I run myself into the ground and begin digging my grave by making too many promises, I wish to make one more. There has been some talk of opening our guild to the rest of the Serenwilde, in more ways than one. While I do not find it necessary to quite literally open the outer Hartstone hall to other residents of Serenwilde, I do believe that branching out to our warriors, our bards, our monks, and our wiccans would be of substantial and immeasurable advantage to our guild. Whether we are resanctifying our vows at the Standing Stone of the Moon or
  60. gathering to thank Nature for the gift of Shamanism, the experience of being a part of a larger whole is something worth our time and attention.
  61.
  62.
  63. I attempted to serve you in my full capacity and with the fullest extent of my effort as Hierophant of the Hartstone before my soul became terribly occuppied. Although the realms of Guild Administrator and Guild Master are very different, I hope I will be able to serve you in a similar manner should I be elected.
  64.
  65.
  66. Sincerely,
  67. Vasnier Zayah
