- Yeah, I'd love if you could help me with connecting through FortiGuard.
- Tell me, what's the use of an obfuscated server if you can only connect
- after contacting the authentication server, which is easily blocked by
- anyone? Couldn't you set it so someone could connect to an obfs auth
- server, since authentication doesn't require blazing fast connection?
- I mean, "yeah we rely on one main server for obfuscated servers and if
- it's blocked we can't do anything" seems like a really lame answer for
- someone who markets a VPN.

- Hello,
- Thank you for your letter.
- Unfortunately, it is not possible to establish a connection through a FortiGuard.
- You are not able to authenticate with Obfuscated Servers because FortiGuard blocks connection and does not even allows you to authenticate. It simply blocks communication with our server.
- Let us know if there is anything else we could help you with.

- Hi. I've been using your services since mid February and loving it so far,
- but a few hours ago I tried to connect through a restrictive
- connection(FortiGuard) for the first time, and I wasn't able to make it
- through.
- I tried everything I could.
- As I run Linux, I tried the openvpn terminal application,
- nordvpn(terminal), using firefox proxy settings to connect through port
- 80, using the firefox addon, connecting to obsfuscated servers, you name
- it. I even attached the chat transcript to this e-mail.
- Taking it that you guys want to improve your product and make it so it
- isn't blocked by anyone, I'd like to request your help and add a few
- things that I noticed.
- By all the means I tried to log in previously, I saw some things and was
- able to assume a few other things.
- 1) They weren't blocking nordvpn through blacklisting ports, as I tried
- connecting through port 80 when I did the manual firefox proxy and I got
- "proxy server out of reach"
- 2) Not once I was able to log in my account(through terminal, openvpn or
- firefox extension, they all returned that something went wrong or that
- they were not able to reach the server), so they might be blocking the
- auth server or its port
- 3) As seen in 2, if I can only do obfuscated connections after logging in
- into nordvpn software(such as nordvpn terminal application for linux or
- nordvpn addon for firefox), I wasn't even able to reach obfuscation
- because I wasn't able to auth
- 4) 3 is assuming that when your terminal application has an account
- already saved that you logged into through a non restrictive connecting
- and then try to connect to a server through a restrictive connection that
- filters the auth server, the error you get is "couldn't reach server" and
- not "not logged in"
- 4) I was able to retrieve the TCP(didn't try UDP) ovpn file from
- nordcdn.com through the "wget" terminal command
- First, when trying to connect through the terminal, I was already "logged
- in", at least it said that. When trying to connect to any
- servers(obfuscation on or off) it did not say that I wasn't logged in,
- since my notebook still had the memory of being logged on from the
- previous non restrictive internet connection.
- Every time I tried connecting to a server, obfuscated or not, it would
- spew random error logs, among the lines of "couldn't reach the server".
- When I logged out and tried logging back in(through the terminal), it said
- that I couldn't reach the servers.
- If you need to contact auth servers and authenticate for a first time in a
- new connection BEFORE contacting obfs servers through the terminal
- application, that means I was never even trying to connect to the obfs
- servers.
- Is there, currently, a way to make it through FortiGuard that you are
- aware of through NordVPN?
- Could you please also obfuscate your auth servers since they don't need
- ultra high speeds and to transfer loads of data?
- I mean, by blacklist the authservers they took my ability to even try to
- connect to obfuscated servers in point 3.
