- Aya didn’t remember the town she lived in is /this/ quiet.
- It might be curfew hours, but the town’s liveliness won’t be dead altogether; there are vampires reigning the night, also human authorities who’ll do the patrols. Then again, when she walked down the pathway to the road back to home, the pedestrian is silent; no one passed by and the big TV by the intersection wasn’t lit.
- Her eyes widened when she saw a familiar being passed by – lots of them, but this time, they ignored her presence.
- Seraphim.
- Donning the similar wings and with black bodies similar to corpse, they flocked here and there. Aya wanted to crouch down somewhere and hide in horror, but they passed – as if Aya wasn’t even there, unlike that time she was nearly preyed.
- [What’s going on here?]
- The pinkette remembered her conversation from earlier – the warning from Sayo. She searched for the moon above her. It was waning, not the sickle one or the full one like the turquoise-haired vampire said, which might lead a Common into The Archive.
- “Why am I here …?”
- Aya didn’t know which way to be back. Aya didn’t remember which way she had come from. Aside her and the dead town, Seraphim is lurking but nobody would be able to tell her the way back.
- “What should I do now?”

- Not long from the phone call, the three vampires whom searched for Aya in the town had gathered to Fuchsia. Analyzing the situation from reports that the three Cadets has gathered, Sayo came into a conclusion that Aya must’ve been disappeared to the land of Seraphim since she was nowhere to be found.
- “But isn’t this not the blue or red moon?” Risa asked.
- “I don’t know why,” Sayo shook her head. “We must go and rescue her quick before she’s being preyed on. Hina, is your team ready?”
- “Eh, why, Onee-chan?”
- “I see that Shirasagi-san linked with Maruyama-san somewhat, she should be able to track her faster than me. I’ll follow you to The Archive, of course, but after I filed in report to the Guild.”
- “Please let me come with them, then.” Yukina said.
- “But Minato-san, your legs …”
- “It’s not safe for Cadets to go outside Fifth Outer Line, if it’s getting bad,” she eyed the three Cadets stood by. “Don’t worry, I still can fight fine.”
- Sayo eventually nodded. The Captain fished out her phone and tried to contact the headquarters. Yukina took her walking cane back, she eyed the three Cadets with red, cold stare.
- “I’m sorry to make you do this emergency mission, Cadets,” Yukina spoke. “I’m speaking now in behalf of my rank as a Lieutenant, though you might go and decline this mission if you feel it’s too hard for you.”
- No one backed down, it’s when Yukina continued.
- “One of you must stay here to be the navigator, because the position of the target has yet to be pinpointed. The target may stray farther than Fifth Outer Line as we speak. Our objective is to save the target, but you needed to be on your guard since there might be irregularities; we might not enter the same area once we set our foot in.” the three Cadets nodded. “Understood?”

- Aya wasn’t sure at what to do, but sitting idle might not help her so she decided to walk, aimlessly. Seraphim passing by beside her giving her goosebumps at times, or when they suddenly showed up from side of trees or the houses.
- She wasn’t exist there. She is a human, yet no Seraphim seem to be attacking her or acknowledging that she’s there.
- The town layout seem to be the same the more she walked through the road, same intersection, same houses, same road pavement, same blocks, same signs—sometimes she’d find an empty park, where she would rest if there’s no Seraphim flying about around there.
- Is there even a hope, with she kept on walking? Is there anyone willing to save her?
- Suddenly her mind wandered when that time her parents were against her wish to go to an art school, how she was rejected after she made up her mind and never been home ever since. Aya took up many side jobs to cover up her expenses, also she’s quite lucky to find a nice place to sleep, a good place to work, a good friend circle to be—
- --Ah.
- The ground is trickling wet.
- Aya touched her eyes to find tears has been flowing.
- How many years has it been since she felt like crying?
- Ever since her parents rejected her, since she steeled her selfish wish to go there and lived by herself, she didn’t have time to even cry – to grief on her stupid decision and the future that is bleak. She might not die that time because of her luck, but this time, she’s going to die without achieving anything, she would die a nameless death.
- “U-Umm.”
- Aya gasped. She looked up to see lavender eyes looking back at her. Aya thought it was a human, or a vampire, as the fingers touched her cheek seem to be real and warm, but then Aya saw the raven wings of Seraphim there; bigger and wider, as if enveloping them together.
- The straight black-haired entity clad in laced black gown smiled warmly at her to see Aya frozen in shock.
- “Are you afraid? I’m sorry. I-I don’t mean it.” Her fingers stayed to graze on the cheek. “… I see that we have the same eyes.”
- The entity pulled away. Aya could see the raven feathers flocked from its wings as it moved. The piece of her conversation with Sayo returned. The description of this being matched of what the vampire had feared of.
- “O-oh. I haven’t introduced myself, right …” the ‘Seraphim’ didn’t let Aya stray away. “I’m … Shirokane Rinko, but people of Inner Line called me ‘The Great Seraphim’.”
