Hyerin knows almost nothing about her father, apart from the fact that he had deceived her mother into believing that he loves her, and that he mentally, physically and sexually abused her, causing her mother to become mentally unstable before he disappeared from Hyerin's life altogether. Hyerin despises him for what he's done to her mother and ruining her and Hyerin's lives, and hopes that wherever he is he's miserable.

Hyerin doesn't hate her mother entirely for this, though, as she knows that she's not in her right state of mind and greatly sympathizes with her. She yearns for her mother's love and tried her best to make her happy and proud when she was younger, though nothing seems to work. Hyerin's always kind to her and refuses to leave her side as she knows her mother needs to be cared for, as even her relatives abandoned her after learning that she'd gone insane.

They still keep in touch and meet up a lot to goof around and ring random people's doorbells. They often hang out in a nearby park and act like children there. Jiyeon's one of the two people who knows about her family situation and lets her stay at her own house many times when Eunchae kicks Hyerin out.

➙ Park Jisu - Jiyeon's older brother who's 8 years older than the two and studies medicine. He treats Hyerin like his own sister while Hyerin herself considers him her older brother. He's very protective of the two and often accompanies them to make sure they're safe, and to make sure they don't do anything too stupid. He taught her how to cook, play various sports and basically everything that she hadn't learned from school and couldn't learn from her parents. He also knows about her family and is very caring towards her, often being the one to treat her wounds and console her.

Background:

Hyerin's father disappeared without a trace when she was 7 years old, but not before driving her mother insane due to repetitive and extreme mental, physical and sexual abuse. Hyerin barely even remembers what he looks like since she was always hidden away from him by Eunchae. Hyerin's mother who used to be kind, became mentally unstable and couldn't bear the sight of her, and so most of Hyerin's childhood was spent getting beaten up, being insulted and dragged and locked outside her house. At first, Hyerin hated Eunchae for repeatedly hurting her even when she'd done nothing wrong, but after listening to her mother's rambling and finding out the full extent of what her father had done, she realized that Eunchae wasn't the one to blame, and so most of her hatred was instead directed towards Jaehwa. As a child, Hyerin would do anything for Eunchae's love and happiness, she'd study hard despite getting average grades, started playing a number of sports and even tried to brush up on other skills such as art, music etc, but nothing worked. Hyerin was often told by Eunchae that if she really wants to make her happy, she should disappear from her life. Hyerin wanted to at first, since that would finally make Eunchae happy and she herself could escape the abuse, but she refused to do so as she knows that then no one would be there to care for her mother who grew careless of life. At first, she'd take Eunchae's words to heart and often wondered why nothing she did, or rather why she herself wasn't enough, now she knows better than to believe a mentally unstable woman's rambling. In front of others Hyerin always kept on a smile and tried her best to hide her wounds. If someone ever noticed, she would casually change the topic or come up with a lie, and others would believe her due to her convincing act.

She's an over-zealous and eccentric indivisual who's rarely seen without a huge grin on her face. She's one of the most hyperactive people you'll meet, which is shown by her inability to remain still and loud, talkative nature. She's easily amused and bursts out laughing at the lamest of jokes. She also tries to look at everything positively and loves spreading that positivity, even if others clearly don't want it. The reason she's so optimistic and hopeful is because that's the only thing that keeps her going.

She often doesn't seem to have any worries or troubles about anything, as she tries to be optimistic about everything. This doesn't mean she never gets stressed or anxious, it's just that it's very strange to see her like that, as she tends to bottle up all her negative emotions.

Often she doesn't regret what she's done or the outcome, unless it's something severe. Then she regrets it a lot and does whatever she can to make it better.

But thanks to reassuring herself and clinging onto hope, she manages to pick herself up each time, promising to help her mother recover by studying well and earning money for her treatment, as well as trying to find her father and turning him in for punishment.

Hyerin had heard about the exchange student, people kept saying that he was apparently a bully and some even said he was part of a gang or mafia. Hyerin didn't believe the gang part since it was ridiculous and there was no proof, however she didn't know what to think about the bullying rumours and so steered clear of him. Until one day in school when she kicked a random can on the ground straight to the back of Felix's head while he was passing by. When he turned around she freaked out and jumped back into a weird karate stance while blurting out 'DON'T FUCK WITH ME I HAVE THE POWER OF GOD AND ANIME BY MY SIDE'. To her surprise, Felix starts laughing so hard he nearly falls over.

➙ How they act:

Their relationship is based off of memes, vines and terrible puns. They quickly become close and often goof around and cause trouble together. They also compete over everything, such as who gets to the cafeteria first, who can hit a higher note etc. They have the pettiest fights and arguments, but go back to being friends in under a minute. They gossip a lot and have the most random and stupidest conversations which causes those around them to lose their brain cells. Felix notices and often questions her about her injuries but she always manages to convince him that it's nothing, though he's still concerned. Felix is the first one to fall in love after some time and starts getting slightly flustered and awkward around her sometimes, which confuses her but she brushes it off. He slowly becomes more affectionate and protective of her which then makes her realize his feelings towards her. This causes her to go into a panic and avoid him since she's scared, which greatly confuses and saddens Felix, who keeps on trying to get her to talk to him, failing repeatedly. After some help from Jiyeon and Jisu who realize his sincere feelings for Hyerin, he manages to get her to open up and after he finds out about her family, he promises that he'll never hurt her, (and if he does Jisu will just beat the crap out of him, to which the latter agrees). Hyerin agrees to give him a chance after much persuasion, and Felix openly shows his affection and comforts her a lot after that. He slowly wins her heart and the two start dating after that, and go back to how they were before. (This is so cliche and stupid aksdfhjdfj)
